At the time I didn't even know what it was but then I read about the plot and damn it seemed very good, and got me hyped for the anime release, even though I haven't read the manga.
If you like this manga, I think you should check out Rosen Garten, especially if you like historical/fictional figures turned into anime-style characters. And it also has a lot of "plot".

I actually follow this one. Found it as a Scanlation called "Slave of the Hell Soldiers". I actually enjoy the writing and tend to skip through the ero parts to get back to the fight scenes and sick power showcasing. Also, the power system is really cool. Even if it's not too unique(standard x-men style power you're destinied to have and/or believe you have), it's implemented in a somewhat unique way.

I will be a bit more honest and say the degenerate parts did help keep my interest the first few chapters until I realized how much I liked the fighting and character dynamics. I do find the whole concept of the rewards to be fairly interesting. Your power's price being determined by a horny teen is a fascinating way to restrain and weaken your abilities.

Idk exactly what it is about them, but the way they are drawn is just so clean and when anyone in this manga smiles (even our mc) it feels so god damn contagious, it's unironically a highlight of this read for me. IMO the character design in general is a lot of fun, especially Yuuki's original beast form, Tenka with her rizz, as well as Ren and her calm domineering attitude with a calm smile (the girl on the cover of volume 13 at the beginning of the video).

I actually enjoy the writing and tend to skip through the ero parts to get back to the fight scenes and sick power showcasing. Also, the power system is really cool. Even if it's not too unique(standard x-men style power you're destinied to have and/or believe you have), it's implemented in a somewhat unique way.
Why in any universe would you read a degenerate story to skip the degenerate parts?

@@DarkChaos1986 I enjoy the story, concept, and power system of Chained Soldier and I don't want to stop reading it. Simple as. I will be a bit more honest and say the degenerate parts did help keep my interest the first few chapters until I realized how much I liked the fighting and character dynamics. I do find the whole concept of the rewards to be fairly interesting. Your power's price being determined by a horny teen is a fascinating way to restrain and weaken your abilities.
Y'know the manga is good when gigoat makes a video about, glad i picked up this series beforehand and the popularity it'll gain from this vid and the adaptation of it

9:27 The more I hear about how much Gigguk likes strategic fights with abilities, it makes me more sad that he hasn't read World Trigger. Strategy, power and luck all go into a battle and World Trigger combines them all beautifully.

The best part of Chained Soldier is when the totally 'not' evil soldier goes "yeet!" and kicks the air so hard the pressure travels the globe to hit something on the other side of the world.

Softcore porn and fantastic waifus aside, one of my favorite things this manga does great are the faces. Idk exactly what it is about them, but the way they are drawn is just so clean and when anyone in this manga smiles (even our mc) it feels so god damn contagious, it's unironically a highlight of this read for me.
IMO the character design in general is a lot of fun, especially Yuuki's original beast form, Tenka with her rizz, as well as Ren and her calm domineering attitude with a calm smile (the girl on the cover of volume 13 at the beginning of the video).
