  • Meet The von Trapps, the next generation. Cut from the DNA of the greatest musical ever, the new sound of music is sweet, honest and raw. It pierces the air with lush harmonies, tight little constructions and a force that knocks you back a little, like a sudden wind whooshing through your hair. Sofia, Melanie, Amanda and August can summon the spine-tingling magic of history’s most enduring musical soundtrack. For much of their lives, they’ve toured extensively as ambassadors of music, heritage, and hope. But the siblings are bent on bringing that legacy to a new place as musical explorers and harmonic folk rockers, in their own right, on their own terms.
    The von Trapps Are Back With a New Musical Sound - The hills are alive again with a new American generation of the singing family made famous by the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical. www.vontrapps.net

    It gives me complete shivers thinking of the movie and what their grandparents went through. Here they are, singing in such fabulous a cappella unique harmony and blending perfectly! Their grandparents would have been so happy to see this!!!

    Edelweiss nearly made me cry. Absolutely beautiful harmony and really amazing work. Truly, these four can call themselves true artists. Their voices sound so pure and natural.

    This was excellent.
    On a technical note, is there any way to remove the commentary that's being picked up by someone's mic?

    one of them alone is amazing but when you combine their collective talent it collides into something far past unbelievable. they have true talent.

    Wonderful. The sound of music and wizard of oz was the first musicals I really enjoyed In 1965. I was eight. I told my son I feel kind of bad for these great musical of the 30s through the late 60s probably will never be duplicated in the way the big studios were once willing to gamble on. So glad I caught this video. Good job

    if these got into praise and worship leading and their hearts were with their voices they'd have the whole congregation kneeling on their faces ,if it's anything like this . just love seeing the growth in their music . that was beyond fantastic

    Maybe it's me but if you really take a closer look at the audience they seemed not to impressed which is a real crying shame. Third generation to continue carrying their music legacy. Usually the third generation doesn't want to continue their family legacy. If they are fourth generation its even more impressive. And yet I get a feeling that most of the audience members just did not give a damn. The audience probably went there to see if the kids were anything like their parents and grandparents. These kids imo have more dynamic range and control than their elders. I would love to see them in concert.

    • @curtispeters8296
      @curtispeters8296 4 года назад +3

      @yester day Sadly, I have to agree with you. This is etheric beauty, devoid of pretense and false artifice, yet no one in that audience seems to even understand what they are hearing. This is exceptional singing talent, miles beyond what people hear on shows like Idol or The Voice. Very few people (especially here in the USA) are educated enough anymore to appreciate the sort of a capella singing this group is offering here. In the age of instant gratification, these people aren't able to understand that this sort of talent is extremely rare and valuable. The audience seems almost bored, as if it was waiting for something explosive to occur. Their vocal sound is astoundingly clear and in tune, with overtones all over the place. Their nuance and precision is lost on this crowd. It must have been difficult to perform for people who would rather stare at a cell phone than listen to music sung so angelically. I fear our world is increasingly full of people who simply can't recognize or appreciate great beauty anymore. Nothing impresses this generation. They seem to think they've seen it all and experienced all there is to experience. In truth, they know and have experienced very little. They don't know how empty their lives really are, sadly.
