- Meet The von Trapps, the next generation. Cut from the DNA of the greatest musical ever, the new sound of music is sweet, honest and raw. It pierces the air with lush harmonies, tight little constructions and a force that knocks you back a little, like a sudden wind whooshing through your hair. Sofia, Melanie, Amanda and August can summon the spine-tingling magic of history’s most enduring musical soundtrack. For much of their lives, they’ve toured extensively as ambassadors of music, heritage, and hope. But the siblings are bent on bringing that legacy to a new place as musical explorers and harmonic folk rockers, in their own right, on their own terms.
The von Trapps Are Back With a New Musical Sound - The hills are alive again with a new American generation of the singing family made famous by the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical. www.vontrapps.net

It gives me complete shivers thinking of the movie and what their grandparents went through. Here they are, singing in such fabulous a cappella unique harmony and blending perfectly! Their grandparents would have been so happy to see this!!!
The fact they carry on the family legacy is awesome to me
Edelweiss nearly made me cry. Absolutely beautiful harmony and really amazing work. Truly, these four can call themselves true artists. Their voices sound so pure and natural.
anyone else getting Narnia vibes from this or is it just me?
Wow that’s what I thought!!
This was excellent.
On a technical note, is there any way to remove the commentary that's being picked up by someone's mic?
that is annoying :/
It was rude of the person doing the talking.
yesucansell2 I doubt he knew his voice was being picked up by the mic, but that being said, it was a distraction for sure
Yes, it confused me at first.
So full of emotions hearing them and seeing them. I love the story of their family, their grandparents. Gosh, I'm teary -eyed everytime I hear them.
one of them alone is amazing but when you combine their collective talent it collides into something far past unbelievable. they have true talent.
singing is their heritage. keep it up.
Wonderful. The sound of music and wizard of oz was the first musicals I really enjoyed In 1965. I was eight. I told my son I feel kind of bad for these great musical of the 30s through the late 60s probably will never be duplicated in the way the big studios were once willing to gamble on. So glad I caught this video. Good job
if these got into praise and worship leading and their hearts were with their voices they'd have the whole congregation kneeling on their faces ,if it's anything like this . just love seeing the growth in their music . that was beyond fantastic
They’d make their grandparents proud. Sadly Maria and Georg are not around.
They certainly are perfectly carrying the VonTrapp legacy forward.
Incredible voices. It would have thrilled my mother.
Made me cry. So beautifully sung. 😍❤️👏👏👏 Crystal clear vocals...
There is nothing like family harmony.
Keeping the family legacy alive!! How wonderful!!
Thanks for edelweiss , it's very beautiful ll , don't stop please 😎
What a gift to Portland
so soothing.
wow...a fantastic song and a great performance!!! I really love it - can't stop listening to the "fantastic four"!
WAtching this again and loving the first song! It makes me think about Narnie =)
Wonderful harmonies.... thank you!
Fantastic! Would they like to sing at a world peace concert?
Maybe it's me but if you really take a closer look at the audience they seemed not to impressed which is a real crying shame. Third generation to continue carrying their music legacy. Usually the third generation doesn't want to continue their family legacy. If they are fourth generation its even more impressive. And yet I get a feeling that most of the audience members just did not give a damn. The audience probably went there to see if the kids were anything like their parents and grandparents. These kids imo have more dynamic range and control than their elders. I would love to see them in concert.
@yester day Sadly, I have to agree with you. This is etheric beauty, devoid of pretense and false artifice, yet no one in that audience seems to even understand what they are hearing. This is exceptional singing talent, miles beyond what people hear on shows like Idol or The Voice. Very few people (especially here in the USA) are educated enough anymore to appreciate the sort of a capella singing this group is offering here. In the age of instant gratification, these people aren't able to understand that this sort of talent is extremely rare and valuable. The audience seems almost bored, as if it was waiting for something explosive to occur. Their vocal sound is astoundingly clear and in tune, with overtones all over the place. Their nuance and precision is lost on this crowd. It must have been difficult to perform for people who would rather stare at a cell phone than listen to music sung so angelically. I fear our world is increasingly full of people who simply can't recognize or appreciate great beauty anymore. Nothing impresses this generation. They seem to think they've seen it all and experienced all there is to experience. In truth, they know and have experienced very little. They don't know how empty their lives really are, sadly.
this might be my new jam! so much love for von trapps!
please keep singing
Im cryin on the corner of my bed, shivering... Wtf
Wow, how ethereally beautiful and so very, very aurally appealing! Fine, fine work!
Is there a more beautiful expression of what is good in this country of ours than the innocent voices of our children
Incredible and so unique, and absolutely transporting
beautiful singing !!
Great! The born singers!

The Von Trapp has around 140 direct descendants.
what is the name of the second song I'm in Love
It's called "Next To Me", and you can find it (and listen to it) by looking up The Von Trapps on Spotify. :)
Bravo!!!
¡Maravilloso!.
Has anyone seen the documentary, "The Real maria Von Trapp"? It's a bit of a...wake up call for what life can really be like...
Call Me Swivel Hips I have, and read her book. She was feisty and smart and talented. The romanticized story has appeal, but the real story has amazing power. I loved the first song, and everything else they performed. I want more.
Yes, I watched in the Von Trapp lodge in Stove Vermont.
want hear them sing.generation of worshippers
💖💖💖
OKAYY who else heard that guy in the back around say "Oh yeahh that fells betterrr" LOL I think someone is doing it in the backaround XD XD
I just heard it. That was strange. Maybe he was getting a massage.
@@emilymalden3310 let's hope hahaha
maravilloso
Who's child are they among georg and maria kids? I've been searching on hedwig photo's then and now but I don't find 😭 when I was a kid I watched this animated movie titled " Maria and the von trap family " its dubbed on my language, I just now know that this was based on true story, I love this movie, i like the character of hedwig on the animated cartoon, I was looking on her real face now that I know this was real
They are Werner's (Kurt) grandchildren. Hedwig did not have children.
My Great Uncle Fr Killian Dreiling helped their Grandparents escape. Read OUR PADRE by Joseph Smith
I love this but I Love the original track of Edelweiss from the Sound of Music!
As much as I enjoy their music, I could not make out any of the lyrics on the first song. bummer, as the lyrics was suppose to describe their journey in the Northwest.
What song is the first song they sang?
The first song they sang is called "Storm" and it's on their 2014 CD "Dream a little dream", also released on a vinyl LP :-)
👍🏻👍🏻
Wowwwwwaww
Senpai please teach me your ways 😍😍😍
Some elderly man keeps talking in the background. Very annoying.
is it just me or someone keeps yapping in the background?? i swear i didnt hear it the first time...but this time i do and it is bloody annoying and ruins the whole thing! many thanks
Sorry, the background talking is so annoying I cannot listen. It is destroying this fantastic music.
The guy talking is pretty annoying. Such a shame.
Would have been lovely, but the constant production direction commentary in the background is awful and off putting. I couldn't listen to it all, had to stop.
To bad they moved to Portland, weirdest city in America.
Joe Met I can't be mad when it inspired them to write that first piece, it's breathtaking
Weirdness is great source of inspiration.
You don't think they are weird?
