Car inventions have transformed our world in ways we couldn't have imagined. From the first combustion engine to electric vehicles, each step forward has been a leap toward a more connected and efficient future
Bought a Decked system for my Ram 1500. 1) Forget about anything in the back 1/3 of the drawer. You have to remove stuff to get to it. 2) Cannot handle 100ish pounds without breaking the corner that rests on the bottom track wheels. 3) Parked on a hill? You will have to hold the drawer open while you try to get tools out - no stop system to open the drawer in increments and lock in place. Next time I will build my own drawer system. Oh and I almost forgot, they do not include the cheap plastic dividers that don't stay in place very well anyways. I had to put screws in the dividers. I store mostly Dewalt cordless tools in mine with a divider for bits and blades. I have to remove most of the tools to get to a Dewalt bag in the very back that carries my tool cordless tool accessories. Probably works great for sportsmen.
Yeah and it doesn't help much with aerodynamics either. The truck bed itself will form a sort of high-pressure pillow where the air will just flow over..
@@deskbreakersome of them will actually have larger gvwr because they're designed for passengers. My dad had a ¾ ton that was no bigger than a long bed pickup, 12 seater that was used originally to transport employees. Had a payload much higher than my grandpa's ¾ ton dodge (94). (I was a young kid so I don't know the actual numbers). Because the van was designed to haul 12 people and gear, it was extra heavy duty. You figure the average guy there was 180-200lbs, plus all the gear. Most ¾ ton pickups at that time didn't have that large of a payload.
The Marlon Xplore platform severly changes the center of gravity of the vehicle. If you are not careful taking a curve to fast will ruin your day. Also traffic lights ground clearance is only 17.5 feet.
I thought that ramp was silly. Then I see that thing called the box tamer. Have you never heard of a 2x6 most pickup trucks, especially those with wine bay beds have notches so that you can slide 2x4s or 2x6s into them so that you can pull the cargo in your bed without it sliding all over the place. Or buying an ancillary product that necessitates you having to drill holes in the sheet metal of your truck that are definitely going to rust out because I didn't see them mounting them with any kind of grommets or anything that are going to prevent those little pinholes from getting full of rust, especially here in Maine where I live
There's a few really good ideas here, and quite a few goofy ones. Pleased to hear about the truck bed sleepers. Those exhaust stacks are nothing new and very shoddy, so I'd not buy THOSE stacks but I'd hesitate to sleep in a truck that didn't have some sort of topside exhaust.
Yeah, but for that price I'd rather go with an Alucab Canopy Camper which comes with a lot more features for storage like molle-plates, M8 bolt rails on the roof, a 270 degree awning and some more. Price is about the same for a way better product if you'd ask me.
I'm looking for examples of those bed covers that that angle from the back, top corners of the cab to the top of the tailgate. Similar to those automatic ones that some dump trucks have, usually covering dirt or stone. Only for a ram. I was trying to find ideas for a custom cover like that but not automatic, maybe wind up. Any ideas are appreciated ☺️
I bought the Bruno VSL-6000 for my truck. It works okay. I paid $4,300 for it, but now I’m wishing I had purchased a lift gate instead for half as much.
Wow the Aero X $7500 neat design for pickup bed if you are a cityboy who doesn't use your truck bed. But for that price you could purchase 2 full size truck toppers.
2:46 those are extremely LOUD and illegal in many areas, I know one area that owner was extremely bad took off for work after midnight revving engine, well someone poured concrete into his exhaust pipes to make it quiet... 🤣 3:46 this places weight too high and causes height issues, curvy road with all that weight that high will not be safe also an issue on side streets with trees and wires that may be low and don't forget the drive throughs and gas stations with covers over pumping areas that are not really high
It is not mentioned that when dirt, rocks, and snow get into the bed divider slots. You can not put the walls in. It's totally worthless. The ATV carrier creates a top heavy load. Also, the truck bed is now worthless. If you want to cover the truck bed to make it more aerodynamic. Then don't buy a truck!
Literally for half the price of that stupid Aero X you can get a proper aluminium canopy which will do basically the same thing but keeps the usability for the truck bed.. Also, the only thing I'd really buy of this video is the tailgate storage as I actually just added that same product to my 'Things I want added to my truck' list 😅
the only thing i saw in this whole video that was actually unique but still handy was the tailgate storage. I'm considering buying one just for the fact that i was already wanting some rear bed storage and it really cant get any sleeker than being inside the tailgate and the price isn't horrible in comparison to buying a small box for each side. I'll probably brace more areas though.
The box tamer is a waste of money. For my truck I measured the distance between the grooves at the back of the box, then I ripped a 2x10-8ft down to the proper length. Next I cut the corners on the bottom for it to sit flat in the box. I also have the smaller d-rings screwed on for securing small objects. Cost less than $30 CDN.
I have the armor mat and it is excellent quality and useful. I’ve had the Bedliner spray in and they all seem to get dirtier and dirtier each year that you have it. For me I prefer the original paint with the mat. There’s another option out there that is like a cross between the two, might work for some
The wheel is one of the earliest and most fundamental inventions. Its introduction revolutionized transportation, making it easier to move goods and people.
That aero x if you think that your short bed is about useless now. Put that think on there. Of course if your really into Halloween. You could dress your truck as a Tesla.
4600 bucks for a slide in dump bed? You can make the bed itself dump for less than 2 grand and carry more weight because you don't have that silly dump bed in your truck.
That ramp for ATVs has to be the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Sure, you don't need to have skill or learn how to drive with a trailer. But you can use this thing be limited to what heights you can drive underneath. Not to mention the hundreds of dollars that you're going to be wasting on gasoline because it is going to make your vehicle. So aerodynamically inefficient that your miles per gallon are probably going to be somewhere around 4:00 or 5:00 if you've got a V8. So you'll go from 15 mi a gallon towing a trailer till like 5 or 6 mi a gallon trying to beat the wind resistance
And all because you don't want to put on your big boy pants and learn a new skill like driving with a trailer. And I'll let you know a little secret. All the people that you see at the boat launch or at the Agway that are back in their trailers off and they do it expertly and with out what looks like a care in the world, they all started out being scared squeamish and not knowing how to follow a trailer. But you learn and then you get good at it. And then you too can become the envy of everyone at the trails or the boat launch
Not to mention the handling difference when you put that much weight that high from the center of gravity of the vehicle. No sudden changes in direction please.

A few of these are bloody ignorant and even worse for the price. Absolutely Absurd Some of the ideas are very cool, but the price tags they have on these things. Just absolutely ridiculous. The bike rack what a stupid idea? cover up taillights is a good idea no one needs to know if your braking. All these ideas of putting things to the back of cars and trucks is stupid I have seen a two bike rack caring 6 bikes and have seen motor bikes covered to protect from dirt completely covering taillights. keep things off the back of vehicles keep your taillights visible tow a trailer if you need more space but remember to hook up trailer lights and make sure they work.
First of all, who would buy this crap? That Aero X, why would you want your truck to look like a clown wagon? Is it useful? No! And that Marlon Xplore II Sxs Deck? You have to be kidding me, when I seen the ad for that piece of crap, I thought of the high center of gravity going down the road and people blowing their horns because that guy is going so slow around the curves. And on the interstate, forget it! You’d be lucky to get out of way of people throwing rocks, bottles and what ever else they throw at you. I can see it now, sign says 25 mph curves and you’re going 10 mph with 15 cars behind you. And what’s with the height? Why would you want to go through a residential area with your toy sticking up that high? So people can see how fancy your under carriage is? Ha! Ha! Ha!

Smoke Racks, because hot exhaust pipes don't take up enough of your short bed.
