Can I just say WOW! You really went above and beyond ANYTHING. A while back I told my hubby that I needed a new desk. I started at Wal-Mart online and took a pad of saticky notes and saved the ones I liked that way. Then he asked me did I want black, oak or white. I said white and he went shopping by himself. I'll have to take a picture to show you. Right now its cluttered.LOL You keep going girl.
Your office area looks beautiful. Great job and great price. I thought for sure you were going to use a door from the habitat store for your desk top. You fooled me.
Love love love the new desk area! It is very you! :) When you remake the area under your monitor to hold your speakers, think about adding one more small level so you can slide your keyboard under when not in use. It'll give you a bit more space, and can help keep your keyboard clean and clear of dust. If you notice your computer getting too hot under your desk, add a small fan down there...you definitely have the room for one now! Happy Crafting!
Norine!!! I love... love... love...your new space! You are so creative! Thank you so much for sharing your projects and ideas with us! You are such an inspiration!
Don't you just love it when an idea comes together smoothly? The space looks amazing and you did an awesome job. I love the color Destiny that you chose, and the foam board was a stroke of genius. Well done!
Norrine I love the space you did a great job you wouldn't even know that it was in your garage. The only way you would know is when you show high up where the garage door track is or over the top of the cabinets and the walls other than that you couldn't tell it's your garage I applaud you on the great job 🙌🙌👍❤️!!!
Wow! Great set up.! I am in the process of setting up my sewing room (I sew commercially.) And you have given me just what I need. Thanks a million. My dear, your ideas are always a starting point for me. In other words, I get inspired just by viewing your presentations. lots of smiles
The opening in the paint swatches is really smart, they don't do that in the Netherlands, BUT i do have a hole punch and was choosing new colors for my home: Bingo! It really helps in choosing colors.
I really love your craftiness! I have been disabled since January 2019 and my house is a dirty jumbled mess, but you have inspired me to start crafting and quilting again. So I have been tackling as much cleaning and organizing as much as I can and I reward myself by working my Sparebear Room into a craft room and making a quilt or getting something for my craft room. Keep up the good work girl! You are a blessing.
I did something similar.... But I used my computer desk, and matching lateral file cabinet....I had so much on my desk, monitors, supplies, and printers and things on the file cabinet....just no space to actually work. I was so frustrated...I hated my space. I kept looking at it and thought that there was so much wasted space in between the two units. I went by my local discount building supply and found a counter top, that matched my kitchen, and found an eight foot piece...it was less than 80.00. I went home and told my Hubby what I had found and what I wanted to do...next thing I knew we were bringing the counter top home. :) It fit perfectly. He used his hole saw and put holes in it for my cables and cords....and he even found the nice inserts, for the holes, at Lowes that made it look so nice and like it was purchased that way. A few felt pieces on the bottom will keep it from damaging my furniture. I bought some organizers for the top also. It was truly a God send....and our timing was perfect, as a few weeks later Covid shut things down and I had to work from home. I was so thankful for the extra space that the counter top provided. It's so nice to use what you have....Just update it a bit. :)....Now, looking at your space, I want to add shelves above my space above the desk...I love that idea!!!! It is a small bedroom converted into an office....My husband has his desk, I have mine...The closet also has a desk...it's the "Lego Room" I can close the doors of the closet when it's messy...ha ha. This room is also my craft room and storage. Everything all in one. I need to reorganize the space. I can't function in clutter....i can't think. So to function, everything has to be tidy, and everything needs a place or else I won't go in there...it's too over whelming. Is that sad or what? Now I'm overflowing with Happy Planner things....and I don't want to go in there to do it. SMH. You wanna come and organize??? LOL! I think I have good bones in there...I just need to get to it....one section at a time, with my blinders on, and focus on that space...then move to the next. Gorgeous!!! What a great job you did. You’re so right, desks are ridiculously expensive and in most cases, aren’t perfect for your space. By creating your own, you can make is exactly what you’d like, save a ton of money, get creative with design and colours and have the satisfaction of a job well done!

Thank you, Kim!!!! I'm not sure which I'd like more... a husband who was talented and could make anything... or a husband who would LET me use his workshop! LOL
Sue Wolfe- Great job on your desk and shelves. You can also use a solid core door if your desk is shorter for the work space. They even come with holes for the handles if you get them at the Restore which is great for computer cords! There are even 8 foot doors available! We put the door on top of filing cabinets as you did., Norrine. I just love your improved and more functional space. Great job! 👍💪♥️

Just goes to show what determination, hard word and planning can do for our soul. You did a great job! I once created a desk for my (then) third grader out of plywood and 2 plastic drawer units. I was a single mom on a bare bones zero budget. Did he care what it looked like? Nope… it worked and he had a place to do homework and create lego creations in a room we shared. 😍. He now trains people at Amazon and has a real desk. Lol. Anyhooooo great video!
Here I am STILL BINGE WATCHING - I am on my sixth day - I think this is stunning - so much so that I am working on copying mosst of it although as mentioned in different colors. Your imagination and idea's are so much me - You are a mini/younger me, I do believe! When I first started my craft room in my garage I stated to my daughter my first part was the best setup of my craft room in 50 years. Although one of the smallest it is such a joy to be in when it is organized. Well I am starting over and adding your bookcase room divider set up. Thank you for your inspiration!
Fabulous results for only $126 !!! It looks wonderful!! I used the exact same 2 filing cabinets & shelving as a desk for twenty years.... and will be repeating it soon. I also have two tall book shelves flanking a wide window. I spanned the book shelves with a board -- instant display/storage space! Plus, with a dowel & two rod cups, I was able to hang two simple fabric shower curtains to cover the window. Your enthusiasm is quite contagious.... so when I "over-task" myself, all I have to do is fix a cup of coffee & watch some of your videos to refresh & re-energize my brain! Thanks so much for sharing your organizational skills, your tips & techniques, & that great enthusiasm!!
What a beautiful craft room/space Norinne. Anyone seeing it for the first time would think you'd spent an extortionate amount of money on it. Feeling very inspired now to get working on my own space, starting with a desk I inherited from my husbands office, and I think contact paper is the way to go to make it fit in with my colour scheme. Thank you for all your wonderful videos. x
Norrine, I am SO happy you have this lovely new work space!!! You did a phenomenal job and it looks absolutely beautiful!! I Know you will love going to work even more now. Thank you for sharing this inspirational project with us!!
This is wonderful! So inspiring that you've kept going as long as it took to make your space just right. You are encouraging me to tackle the last wall in my craft space.
Excellent finds, Norrine, and excellent use if the space!! It is just beautiful. I'm SO proud of you for doing this and for inspiring & encouraging everyone who has watched this video. I love how cohesive, functional, and gorgeous it all looks together!! FABULOUS job!!
I want to be like you, an organized maximalist. Alas all my art supplies are scattered all over. I bought a cart and yet, and yet... lol. You've created a really beautiful space. I'm going to begin by taking some tips from you. For me one piece of advice that I see that you did was, pick a color, stick with it. Thank you.😊
First of all, I love everything you do! Second, this new workspace is fabulous!! Third, that planner/calendar on the wall like that… 💡💡💡💡💡💡why isn’t everyone doing that now!! Excellent idea!!
You have every right to be proud of your custom work space. Job well done!!! As you said, since it is in "modular" pieces, it will work anywhere you move it in the future. It just cannot get better than that. You are an inspiration. In my opinion, most anyone can save up and buy custom and/or ready-made pieces. It takes patience, out-of-the-box thinking and real creative talent to do what you have done. I have two plant stands on rollers to place heavy items on to save my poor back (Amazon). I sincerely PREFER to have a workspace like yours. I have had to do what you have done, lacking funds and space. I turned my bedroom into my craft room and made the bed look like a daybed. I have received so many complements and I get a little thrill EVERY time I look in there and see the final results. You were my inspiration.
You have a real talent and great eye. So many things jumped out but one thing I'm going to copy immediately is the standing magazine holder you used to hold reams of paper!!! YES! Thank you so much! : )
I love love love the finished look. I finally finished my craftroom (one item at a time over the last year.) My inspiration started after seeing what you had done with your garage. my little room is only 9feet by 10 feet but with orgami shelving units all are sturdy and if I have to move each self collapses flat. My desk is from an old call center it was free! I have a hugh wooden stamp collection I hung 2 shower curtain rod parallel then using large zip lock storage bags with a cardboard back I hung my stamps up on the bars using alligator clips.
OMGosh! Really??? I'd love to see pictures of your space!!!! You can share them to my Crafty Organizer page on Facebook: facebook.com/groups/730125317461615/
Absolutely fabulous x well done that lady! X so many of us can relate to so much you say and I love modesty and homely best x much love and God Bless from the UK xx
Cool. Another super-simple desk you can build uses the same idea of two file cabinets for the end supports, but the top is made from a single hollow-core door. They are sturdy, but relatively lightweight, and can be painted or stained as you like, and you don't even have to line up extra pieces of wood: it's all one and one. ;-)
Good point! I looked at doors while I was at the ReStore... but they were all too deep. It is such an easy idea though!!!! Thanks for pointing it out!!!!
You SHOULD be "stinkin' proud" of what you have accomplished with that garage space! Wow!
Aww, thank you, Peggy!!!

Awww. Thank you!!!!! I keep thinking it's perfect and I love it. Then I change it and think the same thing! LOL
Thank you.😊
It is a beautiful office now. You did a great job setting up your area.
Thank you!!!
This looks great!!! Well done! Who cares if it is in a garage? It's awesome!
Exactly! Guys have their man-caves in the garage!!! So, why not my craft/office space???
When I grow up I want to be as organized as you are!
😆😂😘 Stick with me... I'll share everything I know and be your personal cheerleader! 💜
I'm jealous of your space -- even if it is in your garage! You did a great job!!!!
Thank you!!!
First of all, I love everything you do!
Second, this new workspace is fabulous!!
Third, that planner/calendar on the wall like that… 💡💡💡💡💡💡why isn’t everyone doing that now!! Excellent idea!!
Yay! So glad you liked it all!!! xoxoxo
I love hearing stories of how other people have transformed there spaces, especially when it’s a little unconventional. Way to go!!!!!
It's so clean, cohesive and calm

Thank you!!!! I try to branch out... I do! LOL
You have a real talent and great eye. So many things jumped out but one thing I'm going to copy immediately is the standing magazine holder you used to hold reams of paper!!! YES! Thank you so much! : )

@@TheCraftyOrganizer Good one! Lol
I love the new space! So functional and pretty!
Thanks, Dana!!!
You can share them to my Crafty Organizer page on Facebook: facebook.com/groups/730125317461615/
wow i love the new desk area and the whole space is it is gorgeous now and cohesive.
Thank you!!!!!
Absolutely fabulous x well done that lady! X so many of us can relate to so much you say and I love modesty and homely best x much love and God Bless from the UK xx
Looks great and so functional. Very ingenious.
You are amazing Norrine, your project is beautiful. 🥰🇬🇧💐
