NGL paid early access is the best decision GGG could have made.
I had been playing Last Epoch since well before 1.0 and the launch was absolutely brutal. There were problems yes but there were also way too many new players that had zero prior investment in the game beyond one Asmon Gold video they saw. It was absolute chaos. People beating down EHG's door, review bombing on Steam, crying about refunds, attacking discord staff.
You do not want a bunch of people who have no reference for how good GGG can be overreacting to Day 1 issues we all know will occur in some capacity. Let the dedicated community explore the game first, those new players that are legitimately excited about POE 2 will gladly pay the $30 to be a part of the experience.
You are somehow assuming that POE2 at launch will be in as finished state as Last Epoch was at launch. It's now becoming more and more obvious this is not the case. So be my guest and pay - But just don't get angry when you are unhappy with the experience.
Secondly... I played Last Epoch on launch and enjoyed playing it in full offline mode, solo self found with zero problems and enjoyed it very much. So if a company actually WANTS to deliver good experience ... then maybe don't force everyone into online only game ;)

@@АлексейУткин-м4з There are some companies that give players the options of playing online AND offline. Others don't give you that option. So... if you are going to be playing POE2 for example - you are forced to play it online. Ofc games like POE and POE2 are just F2P so we don't expect much service from GGG. The sever stability on new season is well known issue as you probably know. But for games that players have paid for (like Last Epoch) it helps alot to not force everyone into online enviroment when you can actually enjoy the full game without it in solo selffound.
@@ChristianHeid7 I totally agree! Also companies that make video games are forcing us to buy PCs or consoles. Why cant they make an option to play the game without a device?

Obviously you are not here for constructive debate about the reality of gaming. That is pretty much typical of those that don't have legimate valid arguments.
I checked it. In my POV asking for a limit is okay for them, but not necessarily for me. Asking a price tag turns a game from F2P into P2P.
I'm not raging, but I see something that does NOT meet my understanding and therefore I mention it here. Yes, devs should be paid for their effort. I'm willing to do it for something I like, but I decide my limit in spending. If a game expexts an amount I don't like, I won't do it.
I spend money here, but I will probably not reach the threshold set by GGG. Thus I will wait for release. I don't spend on the future, but on the things I can see.
I was a programmer for 30 years (not in games but financial services). My POV, you don't put stuff out that is NOT stable. Anything SHOULD be tested. That's the only way to do it.
Think some major issue came up that's why they don't give access to all acts in EA. Seems they really wanted to have all acts available, so there's probably a lot more to it than what we know..

Is an early access game not the full release .. people need to understand what that means. I know a lot of companies are using this to generate money for incomplete games without a legal obligation to deliver a feature complete or even functional game
I'd rather wait for the full game. I'm not a grinder playing 10 000 hours the same game. I play about 40-100 hours and i'm done. I'd rather wait for a full release before burning out.
I remember Poe 1 did not have as many alts atm Sart as it have today but was free
Does anyone know if the progress we make in the early access will carry over when the full game releases?
@@bjjstrength9161 probably not. From what I know, the last time there was a big release in POE (3.0) they would wipe characters every time there was a big patch

never play path of exile before? when new league start will wipe all previous league char, merge them into Standard League. that mean full game release just like new league.
@@TheMaulam12345 I played PoE for like an hour in totality maybe 3 years ago. So this is similar to the Seasonal and Eternal realm characters in D4 then, correct?

Technicly its still paing for being testers fuck that i like Poe 1 but not gone spend 30 $ for poe 2 beta basicly just gone wait alredy have a lot of games to finish

i brought my self the 800$ supporter pack like 2 months before my birthday the one with 5 skins and the hoodie and shirt will that help me getting in to the poe 2 since i did the big pay on there

The communication around early access and state of the game at launch has not been very clear and thus has many gamers confused myself included. So there are far more questions than answers at this stage. Digging up old interviews is not going to help, I work in game dev and I know things chnage very fast, but I also know a community deserves clear and transparent communication.
i have never bought early access test then expect full game lol so what is drama u guys talking about.
There are two types of "early access"
1. There is Early Access where you pay to get access to unfinished product that is still in development.
2. There is Early Access where you get to play 3-5 days before everyone else by paying more for a product that is releasing in full version.
GGG need to be very clear about witch one players/testers are going into. Charging money for a free to play title might get some players thinking its the latter "early access" they are going into. EXPECIALLY when GGG has already been talking in the past like this "release date" is actually the full game at launch. Now they are pushing back on this full game so "drama" is pretty much expected.

Nobody is expecting the full game in EA, but people were expecting the full 6 act campaign because Jonathan has clearly stated it many times, that EA will launch with 6 acts.
@@SandelsHandels Yes - Jonathan has also talked about "full experience" so maybe its just normal for players to be confused right now.
@@ChristianHeid7 GGG said many times that early access was going to last from 6 to 12 months. And they never said it will full realease. What they said was that thay aimed to add so much content that it would feel like full release. You just dropped out what you didnt need to hear what you would like

Sammy my man your an official POE 2 fanboy 😂😂 JK just want to pull your chain a little. If you are expecting a true successor to POE everyone is going to be disappointed. POE 2 is a totally different game that is not 50% complete. It might be 2026 before we get a full release. GGG has spent so much time developing couch co-op and the new WASD controls it's slowed down development on the total game.

It's very risky to for GGG to actually launch just 3 acts and then charge money for it on top. Those that have followed GGG in the past, all the way back, will know that GGG have said ALOT of things - of witch some turned out to be correct while others were not. The real issue here is that GGG said things about this early access already, that they are apparently backing away from. Going from 6 acts down to 3 at launch of early access and expect players to pay the same... Just Nope.
Best thing to do is just not bother with this early Access and THANKFULLY - Even Ubisoft is turning away from these sort of "Pay extra to play early". Cause we have seen the issues and the disappointment that those players have gone through when they are charged more - to play for unfinished products that even needed a full restart of the campaign to work when the game finally went "live".
Sadly - this all seems to be about how much money GGG will be able to milk out of this EVEN with half the game in this "test" There are many ways to test things in these games. But expecting the testers to PAY for it... will not go down well in 2024 after what has been going on in the last few months. We have to remember this game is Free to play on launch so we can not compare it to past early access games that had a purchase free anyway.
i do think they only aim for POE players buy this early access.
It is strange because they've clearly been trying to court a lot of new players and I think the veteran players will say its EA who cares poe1 only had 2 acts that you had to replay so whats the big deal? I think no matter if its EA or not when you release a game in any state especially if you charge a fee those new players will have their first impression and not care whatsoever about poe1's release and I don't blame them. It's a risk if this is really what is going to happen.
