I have struggled with depression for thirty years. Medications numbed me but didn’t heal me. Becoming Catholic and refocusing on others instead of my pain has freed me so that I no longer need medication. When my thoughts spiral down now, I pray and think of who around me is hurting. Then I text or call or write to offer support and comfort. In doing so I am comforted. God can use us regardless of our age or situation.

Fr. Ripperger is so broadly and holistically educated and experienced in the extremes that he is able to take these big concepts and distill them down plainly and with humble honesty in a nonjudgmental manner. The world so desperately needs this. We have everything right at our fingertips anymore and it is just overwhelming entropy that can no longer keep up with and as a result the reality of the human existence has been grossly maladapted.

God gives us free will and with free will comes consequences with our life's choices.
. The misery we feel is actually God's love inviting us out of sin and to Himself.
If we we comfortable in sin that leads to eternal death, why would we give it up?
We wouldn't. But consequences which I believe more appropriately describes what you are speaking of, is the mercy of God reaching out to us to turn to Him.

People who are unable to disconnect from reality and are faced with the Truth may instead choose to blame others instead of taking responsibility for themselves. The only way out is Jesus Christ (Truth), repentance, belief, and faith in Him, following Him, giving Him the entire life, and accepting and applying the full Word of God. The good news is that the truth is that God is kind. "It is His kindness that leads to repentance." (Romans 2:4) His way is the only true way to Life. "The thief comes only to kill, steal, and destroy, but I have come that you may have life and life abundantly." (John 10:10)

Earlier this year, while serving as an immigration paralegal, I realized we had a significant issue on our hands. Around my neighborhood in Aurora, I encountered a Venezuelan couple who were struggling. They, like many immigrants in the area, were in desperate need of food, clothing, and reliable information about their rights and resources available to them.
The upcoming election has only intensified these issues. The GOP is experiencing internal conflicts, and candidates are ramping up their campaigns. This environment of heightened political activity often exacerbates the challenges faced by immigrants, as misinformation spreads and tensions rise.
In the midst of all this, it’s crucial to take a step back and discern the situation carefully. It’s a time for prayer and reflection. We must remember not to believe everything we read or see online, as misinformation can easily cloud our judgment and lead us astray. By staying grounded in our values and seeking the truth, we can better navigate these turbulent times and support those in our communities who are most vulnerable.

If they came to this country legally what issue is there? If not, breaking the law is not condoned by the catholic faith. In other words, help them, they are here. They need your help but please do not dilute any action done by individuals that have landed themselves in their circumstances. Illegal immigration has profound and longterm effects on all the citizens and noncitizens of this country. In the longterm it is NOT good. Immigration and foreign policy reform are the avenues for real change in this case, second only to God and prayer.

There are a few Protestant Christian counselors around, but I’m not interested as my problems are a mixture of psychological, emotional, spiritual, specifically Catholic, and physical. This might sound horrible, but I’m glad my parents both passed away before they had to see a senile President. They were both too tuned out to understand the Covid stuff. They passed at ages 96 and 98, a month apart, neither had the 💉 and neither got Covid despite being exposed to it repeatedly. RIP, Mom and Dad.

GPS- shows only a little section of where you are in the here and now, gives directions in tiny sound bites, you don’t have the full picture of where you’ve been and where you’re going. You lack the full picture, the context of the present. Give those who’ve come up with GPS an atlas or foldout map. They can’t understand it.
Digital Clock- tells you the time “right now” there’s no concept of the time past and the time future, phrases like quarter of, half past, are not understood. You lack the full picture of where you’ve been, where you are, where you want to go. Give them an analog clock and even adults can’t tell time.
Read a story or text to Gen Z on up, they can’t follow it by just listening. Try showing an older movie or a musical to young adults or younger. They tune out because they can’t follow it long enough to understand it.
Attention span is next to nothing, a “short,” is all they can handle now on a screen.
Read a narrative poem to a young person, there’s no understanding, no attention span, inability to connect the meanings of stanzas. Ask them to memorize it, they can’t do it. People no longer know phone numbers or addresses without their phone!
People can’t make change or count money. Mental math has become impossible. In some public schools, it’s considered corporal punishment to require students to memorize anything!
The inability to think properly has huge spiritual ramifications.
There’s going to be chaos and violence when the waste product hits the fan.

I have Narcissistic Personality Disorders - it is something that runs in my family but I believe I am the worst as I've fallen into more heinous sins due to pornography etc. It's a seriously debilitating and miserable life. Secular Psychology says this is incurable, is that true Father?

I don't know if Fr. will read these comments but I can tell you that it's all curable. Pray the Rosary every day. Find a good priest and go to confession every week. Look up Father's website society of the most Sorrowful Mother. Say the Auxillium Christianorum prayers there daily. Start there and Our Father in heaven will help you.

Regular confession every week if you have to. Confess your addiction to porn. Do an examination of conscience write down your sins. Then start going to mass everyday if possible but at least once a week. Sit before the Blessed sacrament. Make effort not to do the same sin. If you do go back and confess. It works. Buy prayers for the laity from father ripperger and say them daily if possible. Everything I'm saying works. Then make an effort to live a sinless life as best you can.

Jesus dissent, how the religious was turned into the commercial. Corporate America needs more of this protest.
    Jesus Clears the Temple Courts
13 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 16 To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!” 17 His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”[a]

I'm barely into this video and am wondering if Fr Ripperger is saying that the mentally ill are great sinners? I wouldn't agree if that is the case. We are sinners like anyone else, but, with respect, I don't agree that we are tremendously worse than anyone else.

Because mental illness is demonic most times. And because the down grade of the mental state due to sin is very real.

    • @duathellto1460
      @duathellto1460 Месяц назад +1

I *think* he's saying mental illness is essentially a disconnection from reality, and that sin is one of the things that can cause that. Could be their own sin, but it could also be someone else's sin (like telling a child lies about what moral behavior is, or neglecting to tell them anything at all, or abusing them, etc.) that they haven't gotten over yet. (via forgiveness, acceptance of suffering, discovering and believing the truth) That can reduce their own culpability, and sometimes remove it, but if someone does things that are contrary to the natural law, they are subject to all the natural consequences of that, which includes a breakdown in their capacity to think rationally and in accordance with reality. Sometimes it's just a physical problem and nothing else, but Fr. was talking about the increase in mental disorders across society, and that increase is probably due to the sins of various people, not from an increase in physical problems.

What gets me is the anti depression drugs. I have a friend who continues to extol the “virtues” of how this drug helps him and yet, in any conversation, his reasoning flip flops more than a fish out of water. I don’t see it, all I see is the same patterns over and over. He is on ketamine which, if I’m correct, is quite a strong drug.

If you lack significant production of certian neurotransmitters, or you don't have sufficient density of their receotors in your brain, trying to overcome it by thinking, praying, etc, is as effective as being stuck in the mud and pushing harder on accelerator. All you do, you spin the wheels.
