I had my gallbladder surgery in June and i felt like i could go for a walk the next day. I have never had any problems at all. I feel so very blessed to have come through this so well as i am 80 yrs. old.
@@stephanietorres3425 how is it like? I hope your getting better. I got mine out 5 months ago (nearly 6)! I had a lot of problems with mine but that doesn’t mean everyone does, I like to check how other people’s recovery goes so I don’t feel alone, about the feelings of course. Time flies by so fast, it only felt like yesterday.
@@Romans10.9-10 Oh no I’m so sorry that happened to you, I’ll keep you in my prayers! They said mine was infected and could get worse over time, once the operation is done I hope you feel better! I was in hospital for a night but I’m only 15 and they wanted to see if i was ok because my blood pressure and bpm kept going sky high, they also wanted to see if I could walk and eat without me possibly throwing up, It took me about 4-5 months to recover but everyone’s different so it will get better with time. Honestly most terrible pain I’ve had in my life. Hope you recover safely and well.
@@Romans10.9-10 I’m doing very well now thank you! I did feel dizzy for a few months but I don’t know whether that was just anxiety since I do suffer a lot from that but I was the same as you, I didn’t want mine out at first! My first thought was no until I was in massive pain again and then fully agreed to say yes. I’m sure it will be fine! I did struggle a lot to find what to eat afterwards since the removal but then I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, so I had to cut out a lot of salt and watch what I was eating. I am a vegetarian for about 3 years now so I do try my best to find foods that are low in things like salt and fat. But best wishes to you, I really hope it doesn’t become a emergency situation! That would be so horrible! You should let me know how you feel after you recovered, no rush at all, take it steady!
I'm 29 and had my gallbladder removed just 2 days ago, I woke up in so much pain I was screaming and crying. I've seen a few people who wake up just normal and I'm like why couldn't mine be like that 😭 The surgeon did say that they had to make the bellybutton hole bigger due to the gallbladder being swollen from gallstones. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one dealing with this. Much love to everyone who has to go through this! X
the surgeon did the same for me (had to make the bellybutton hole a bit bigger bcs of how swollen my gallbladder was) my first 2nights at home were just awful. was constantly in pain, couldn't sleep properly. meal wise has been hard, it's either i'm not hungry or i eat very small portions of 1 meal. it's barely been a week since i had surgery and i'm still with bad pain, but it's slowly getting better
@@Jess-do6lm I stayed in the hospital for a week due to my O2 not going up. They gave me morphine and oxycodone after day one and day 2 then switched to norcos . I hope you live pain free soon.🙂🙃😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉🥲
Thanks for making this video. I had my Gallbladder removed yesterday and I’m in a lot of pain. It literally hurts to breath 😕 So beautiful to see your kids helping you out and being concerned with Mom.
My experience has been the same as yours. Lots of pain. Been a week. I've been walking a lot but still having pain. But it is getting better. But they did not go in my belly button. I had adhesions that had to be removed and they found something but it was not cancerous. Thank God
Had mine removed over a year ago in the UK. After spending years feeling like I've been shot in my stomach. days curled up into a ball for 8 hour episodes, ending up yellow looking like a character from the Simpsons! Having it removed was the best thing that ever happened to me. I had keyhole surgery. I was home the same day, no gas pain at all, no pain really just a bit tender. The only problem was needing help sitting up as my stomach muscles were not working 😅 For those worrying, life is much better, I'm still careful about eating certain foods due to the fear installed into my from all those old attacks. I had loose stools for about 2 weeks (I blame the curry my parents thought would be a good way to celebrate) after that everything is 100%. Do it!
I’m due to have mine removed in May. My story is so similar to yours, I was so yellow! Thank you for sharing your story. I’m so nervous and you’ve helped!
Hi, I had my gallbladder removed last Friday and so far so good. I was literally in so much pain every time I ate, couldn't sleep the only thing that helped was not eating. Could never see a GP only got to speak with them on the phone and they said I had IBS and to eat more veg, I'm vegetarian 😂 eventually the pain was to much headed to hospital and was operated on 2 days later. Can't express how relieved I now feel but like Lee I fear some foods but recovery has been good, lots of rest. I hope your ops go well and life becomes positive and pain free, take care xx
Thank you so much… im writing this in tears trying to sleep to be ready for my surgery tomorrow still scared and not 100% sure if i have to do it 😭😭 But your comment made feel so much better 🥹🥹 Thank you ❤
I wish you all the best. Because I’m recovering from gallbladder surgery myself. After the first two weeks you will feel better. Do a lot of walking it will help you heal faster. Take care.
im going in for mine tomorrow, just a quick question..... my office is in the loft which i need to access with a ladder. would you reccomend bringing the office down prior to surgury? or will climbing a ladder be ok? i have a pretty decent pain barrier but i dont know what to expect with surgery.
@@cyn7420 hope you recover soon pal. The worst pain I had was shoulder pain oddly enough..... all the gasses that can get trapped work there way up and put pressure on nerves. It was horrendous! Not everyone gets it though so I hope you dodged that bullet.
Also make sure they give you a comfortable hospital bed to recover in . And Paul Sharp is right . After 2 weeks you will feel better. They left a hematoma on my liver so I had to have surgery twice. Be sure to purchase an O2 monitor.
I’m on day three now. And I’ve been drinking broth, with rice. Also toast and baked potato and sweet potato. ❤ It truly is just like this. Super painful just to talk and breath. Prayers for all who go through this procedure.
Hey...i was wondering who you are doing now...i am almost one month after the surgery...i can eat almost everything without be annoyed... P.s. the first one and a half week was like hell...a lot of pain... The only slight pain something like burning from inside i feel at the moment is somewhere round my belly button....i hope it goes away soon Sorry for my English
I'm so happy for you that you've had help. I was told yesterday I need the surgery ASAP but also I've had a cold for a week and today my boyfriend just tested positive for Covid. I'm in pain and dealing with grief and depression from loosing my grandma. Just hope all this is over soon

💋 I have my Gallbladder removed 6 months ago. I went into the ER for a mild stomachache that I had for 3 days off and on.. They did Blood work and a MRI .. Couple of hr later doctor comes in and tells that I'm being admitted into the hospital and I'll have surgery at 2pm.. WTF, what? Surgery? Why? I just have a mild stomachache.. Doctor said No you have Gallstones.. Who new? I NEVER had any pain, Never had a gallbladder attack.. I was surprised.. My surgery went GREAT.. Right Fter surgery I was ready to go home.. I felt 100 times better.. But, I had to stay in the hospital for 3 days due to an infection from my gallstones.. I had 3 small cuts and one 2 inch cut under my Bellybutton.. Everything went great and I recovered fast.. .. Thank you Lord Jesus 🙏🙏🙏
I had my gallbladder removed in 2014. I had a lot of problems for about a year prior, but no one could diagnose it. I gave in and went to see the cardiologist because I thought I was having heart issues. Within a matter of minutes of walking end of the room and finding out my symptoms, he was the one that diagnosed it! Gas pains are the worst. As a nurse I knew this, but in the midst of being on pain meds and nausea meds and all of that recovering at home… I swear no one actually told me to get up and walk and that it would help. And I obviously did not remember that this was something I needed to do, seeing as I was not quite in my right mind. I’m glad you’re feeling better and on the mend. Continuing to pray for you during this time! One caution is to go VERY slow reintroducing food into your diet. Your body has to retrain itself how to digest foods. Especially those higher in fat.
❤ My Gallbladder surgery was AMAZING.. I didn't have any pain.. After surgery I sas walking around as if NOTHING ever happened.. I feft so good.. No vomiting, No pain No complications..NEVER took any pain killers.. 🦋

What has helped is getting support around home making meals etc to keep energy up to heal, sleep as much as you can, hydrate obviously with water and take hydralyte to keep electrolytes, take a multivitamin and just find easy activities to keep you happy like reading, painting. You'll be awesome! Our bodies are amazing and in the right environment will heal 🙏🏽
I appreciate your video coming up in my recommended list. I had my gallbladder removed 8 days ago and I still have plenty of pain. It has been getting better with the passing days. Walking definitely helps. I no longer have gas left in my body, but man how it hurt for it to all leave my system. Hope you have been pain free since!
I have the mide 2 weeks ago, I woke up with a lot of pain on my left shoulder and back, it was hurting a lot, I was taking a shower with hot water, the most hot I can because it was the only thing was helping until today, my employee came to the house and she said "put ice in your back" I did it, and after 30 minutes I am able to moving my arm again without pain.
I am waiting for my gallbladder removal. I was recently contacted by OR booking to say i'm getting close to the top of the list. I'm getting a bit scared of the surgery and have started watching videos like yours. Thank you for the realistic recovery discussion. No one tells you anything about what to expect after the surgery, even if it's variable per person.
I had my gallbladder removed today and I am feeling pretty okay. I really appreciated this video which I watched before surgery and put my mind at ease and helped me prepare for what’s to come.
I had my gallbladder removed Friday 12/23 @ 3pm. I was released Saturday at 1pm. My only struggle so far was rolling over in bed, and it hurts to cough to get phlegm up. I have taken only two pain meds because I have not needed any more. This Christmas morning, I walked 2 miles on the treadmill and I feel better than I have in a year. No gut ache or bloating. I have been very fortunate so far. I feel bad for people struggling after surgery, I hope things improve for you. I am 55 years old and currently 30# overweight, but working on it. Good luck.
Im 320 lbs. And surgeons don't want to remove my Gallbladder that I already had like 5 attacks this previous year. They want me to dissolve them or lose more weight before they decide in removing my Gallbladder..😒🙆🤦
Thanks for this, you’re an angel. 52 in England, had mine removed 3 days ago, slept minimal and only upright, I’m so tired. Bloated stomach and pain. Weird popping noises in legs when I walk, must be the gas. Will walk more and pray at the same time. If I get through this I’m booking a week in Spain with my partner & we’ll drink cocktails every day, I deserve it.
God bless you...it’s been 17 years since I had mine removed... I remember the stomach pain more than anything...and wanting to eat but just couldn’t. I only had my ex-husband to help me and so you’re blessed to have such a great support team.
I have a high pain tolerance which is why everyone was shocked at how inflamed and full of gallstones i had. I had surgery and 3 hours later, went home because I was walking around my hospital room by myself. Went home, ate some cereal because i was starving. I didnt feel much pain because i just told myself, "It doesn't compare to when my gallbladder was crying for help". I was fully recovered in 1 day, moved my arms to relieve the gas faster. I only stayed in bed for a couple of hours at a time. The more you stay in bed, the longer the recovery. Usually, what causes the discomfort is the pumped gas. Release that and it'll feel like you didn't have surgery to begin with.
Thank you so much for making this video. I had my gallbladder removed 3 days ago and all the things that you are explaing is how i have been feeling. 😢
I just had my gall bladder removed this past Friday and it took them 4 hours because of how bad it was and how much work they had to do inside. I more or less feel fine. It does feel like I did a bunch of sit ups but the pain is manageable with meds. I also haven’t experienced any issues sitting up or sitting down. I’m also lucky enough to have been sent home with a drain hanging out of my stomach, which hopefully comes out soon.
Imagine your struggles x10 the first 2 days of being home, alone and I guess u'll understand my struggles. Nausea was my biggest issue. I had my gallbladder removed 2 days ago through an open surgery. Bc of another very big surgery my caecum was so inflamed and burst years ago, I had over 2 L pus in my abdomon. The recovery time is several months bc they cut a muscle in my stomach to reach the gallbladder. Your stomach looks so freakin nice compared to all my scars from my 2 surgeries. Please don't feel insecure to show us ur story. I would show my scars if people ask. I've been very sick and proud of my scars. I'm still alive and on the correct path to recovery. If im outside in the summer there's no way I'm able to hide the scars without wearing a t-shirt. Thanks for sharing ur story.
Hi. I thank you for sharing your video of day 3 post-op gallbladder removal surgery. I am scheduled to have my gallbladder removal surgery done laproscopic robotics on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022 next week. I have talked to 2 female co workers who had this surgery and tell me that walking around afterwards will speed up the recover process. To expect the worst pain the first 2 days and spend most of time in a recliner chair to minimize use of abdominal muscles. I was happy to see you had your children and other friends helping with chores and food/meals. I only have my husband and he will be off the day of surgery but back to work the next day. So I will be home alone until he gets home in the late afternoons.
I just finished my surgery two days ago. The recliner does work but it did hurt to set it back to a sitting position. I wish you the best and speedy recovery!
I thought I handled pain well until I seen these comments, everyone is talking about how good they feel after the surgery and that they could walk the next day etc. i feel so horrible like I just got stabbed (because that’s kinda what they did during surgery) I can’t even muster the strength to pull myself out of the bed on my own or walk on my own.. it’s been almost a full 24 since my surgery.. the hospital is trying to get me to leave and I know my body isn’t fully ready. Please pray for me 🙏🏽. God bless you all and I hope you all feel okay after your surgery, bless your surgeons and anesthesiologist’s hands and minds so that they can give you their best going into your surgery! Keep your head up and relax, just because I feel this way doesn’t mean you will too.. I’m a 110 pound 21 year old who just had a baby so I might just be weak 😮, lol. Have a great day you all and again, God bless 🙏🏽

To anyone who wants to remove their gallbladder, I'm at 36 hours after surgery and I feel great! I do have a slight pain but it's nothing compared to the gallbladder attacks I used to have. I can walk and eat whatever I want (of course don't eat fatty food at first). The only problem I have is pooping! It seems almost impossible at times and pretty annoying
@@hzbender Yep pretty much like nothing happened and I can eat and do whatever I want now. Sometimes a very slight pain just like gallbladder attacks come and go for like 5 or 10 minutes which I'm not sure what it is but I think it might be some small stones left over but the pain is very much manageable and very short lived my doctor said it goes away after some months
@@theonelilybilly I didn't have constipation in fact my stool was almost always soft and sometimes even had diarrhea, All is good now. I had gall bladder surgery a few years ago. They went in with the hopes of removing it laposcopicly but I required the surgery with a big incision due to my gallbladder being in such bad shape. I had to have a drain also for a couple weeks. Right after surgery, I had painful muscle spasms in my abdomen every time I had to move. An abdominal binder helped. I was off work for 5 weeks- but no problems since. Moral of my story- don't wait too long! :)
I just got it out 3 week's ago. I'm on my own. i've had togo out to do things & its grueling. The first few days I had some ppl bring me food & stuff. Also I went to the er 2 days ago, my chest was killing me all night, no sleep. I have not slept as much, I've felt extremely exhausted, but it could be bc I have a hard time sleeping to begin with. God blesss you all, thanks for the feedback💖 fyi: I have pain on my neck (front back up to my head), my back, etc... but the fact that I have a bad back to begin w/doesnt help, I have double the pain & tingling & stuff, it sucks😭.
Is anyone having issues with insomnia after gallbladder removal? I had my surgery about 17 days ago. Feeling good but wake up every night around 2-3 am.
Thanks for sharing your story. Hopefully your recovery is coming along well! As a physical therapist, just want to recommend that you massage your scars well once they are healed! Super important and often overlooked. So for a couple minutes a day, once they are nice and healed, make sure to rub your scar(s)!
God bless you and those children, hubby seems to be a good guy bless you all. My surgery was done on April 12 still recovering some pain. I think God it’s out. You’re a good mommy and you have a good children a beautiful family.❤
Thank you Rachel your video has helped me a lot. I'm having mine removed 7th July 2022 and getting a bit more anxious now and keeping away from as many people as I can. Fingers crossed it all works out OK. You have a lovely family of good looking kids, so helpful and your hubby too. I hope by now you are fully recovered and it was worthwhile , best wishes Wendy Bennett UK
I am scheduled to get mine out on July 8th, 2022. The day after you at 2:45pm. Yikes, I am scared. I had a laparoscopic fundoplication way back over 21 years ago when I was like 25 years old and when I woke up I was in the worst pain I have ever felt. I sincerely hope that this gallbladder surgery on the 8th isn't anywhere near the pain I felt from having the fundoplication done. I am not very good with pain tolerance so I guess we will see. Maybe we can exchange how we are feeling with each other post procedure and heal together. :) Best wishes to you on the 7th. Praying for you and hope you will do the same for me. P.S. I live in the U.S.
OMG all these stories! I’ve just been diagnosed with gallstones after the most horrendous pain whilst I was on holiday. I didn’t take any notice of it until I got back and I experienced it again but not as intense. A friend of mine insisted I go to A&E. I did eventually go and they discovered gallstones. What is everyone on going through the pain of gallstones? My doctor has prescribed suppositories. I know right!! my problem i it’s affecting the liver enzyme levels which are high. I’m hoping because of that they will operate sooner rather than later. How long did you have to wait for your op? Glad I found this page. Thank you all.

I know how you feel. In November of 2017 I had surgery to remove cancer. I had 3 feet of my small intestine removed, my glad bladder, and 30% of my liver removed. They had to cut me from below my belly button , up to my sternum. I was in the Hospital for 13 days. It was not fun. Like you they kept making me walk around to get the gas out, but worse I couldn't eat or drink anything for almost a week. Then only broth, for a week. I lived 100 miles from the Hospital that did the surgery, so the ride home was miserable, (lots of bumps) and I was in a lot of pain by the time I got home. Thankfully they gave me some strong pain meds to use if I needed them. (non opioid medications)
@@sarahpecora993 I had CT scans which confirmed the cancer in the Liver, a PET scan and a Gallium scan to find the source cancer in my small intestine. They did an MRI just prior to surgery to help them identify and guide them during surgery to remove as much cancer from my liver as possible.
I am on my second day home from the hospital. I had my gallbladder removed but then had some complications with my liver still and there was blockage also further down from a gallstone and sludge build up so my liver and pancreas couldn't release bile into my intestine. It was very nerve racking as well because i am 24 weeks pregnant. I was in the hospital for 7 days and was sent home with a Jackson Pratt Drain to drain fluids out for an extra week. I was iut of breathe just like you during the first days from the gallbladder removal, but i was still in so much pain i wasnt able to sleep at all until they did the second procedure. The only time i was able to sleep was for an hour maybe due to the morphine. Everyone who was able to do the procedure and feel better know that you are blessed!!
I was so lucky after my surgery as I was operated on in the afternoon and the gas left me urgently and rather loudly in the middle of the night. I had no problems at all after that apart from some pain from the wounds.
Came across this when looking at liver surgery post op recovery videos. This was lovely to watch. Your kids are amazing, may I borrow Klai for a couple of weeks ? It’s been a few months since this was posted and I hope you are back to full strength now. Two weeks ago I had my gallbladder removed and a liver resection done and a (benign but large) tumour removed. I had open surgery, so ended up spending a week in the hospital. Have been home a week now and it’s amazing just how much progress gets made every single day. Even the smallest thing that I could not do the day before. Most difficult for me is like you, the getting up out of bed or off the couch if I’ve been in one position too long, I get winded easily if I stand too long too but that goes quickly once I settle back into my nest. My hot water bottle has been a huge help. I usually just lie on my side and have the hot water bottle propped up against a pillow so there is no extra weight on the abdomen. If anyone else comes across this message who has also just had surgery, I discovered smaller meals or snacks more frequently than three large meals. The first time I had a normal portion of food for dinner I was in a lot of pain so I prefer to just have smaller meals during the day. also if you aren’t allergic, talk to the pharmacy about a mild laxative, this won’t cause full diarrhoea but loosen the bowels just enough so you don’t need to strain which can cause a lot of pain especially because many pain medications after surgery can cause constipation.
i also had laparoscopic surgery to remove a 7cm cyst on my ovary almost 4 weeks ago now. recovery has been tough, bearing in mind i’m only 16 :/ personally, i think the incision through the belly button was the worst pain during my recovery (besides the shoulder pain from the gas because that was SO painful). every time i stood up the pain was so intense in my belly button for the first 10 days or so, but now i’m practically pain free and headed back to work in 9 days!
I had mine done yesterday. They have got me on a fentanyl drip for the pain which isn’t helping. My operation ended up being almost 5 hours because they found that the gallbladder was full of pus and had so much scaring on it that it had morphed itself into my surrounding tissue. Turned into quite a complex operation. I am happy though because they managed to do it all through keyhole. Fingers crossed I have a speedy recovery like some people in the comments. Everyone’s journey, illness, operation, recovery is different.
@@dennisallende7214 I feel amazing. Honestly. It’s like I have got my life back. I have so much more energy. No bloating and lost 14lb, how are you feeling?

I have had a surgery a week back. Today is 5th day post operation. Other than severe pain from incesion on belly button I don't have major issues. But the worst part is I've got covid positive while I was recovering. With that cough and fever the surgery pain was unbearable. Just want to come out of this phase soon 🤞
I know exactly how you feel. My gallbladder almost ruptured. I had 24 staples in my stomach. It was so inflamed they couldn’t do laser surgery. Then my incision got infected. It was horrible. Best wishes to you. Sending prayers.

Rachel, I had gall bladder surgery in my early fifties. I had soreness but did well (no extra naps) and had to s-l-o-w-l-y turn on side to get out of bed... rec'd much appreciated TLC from hubby for about a week. Didn't have 'breathlessness' visibly noticeable like I see with you? How are you doing NOW days out from surgery? ... please update! TY appreciatively.
Just saw your video. Thank you for making this video. It’s very enlightening. It’s been a couple years since your surgery and I hope you’re all healed up and doing well. 😊🙏 I’d like to see if you make a follow up video on how you have been doing since your surgery. my surgeon says I need my gallbladder removed because it has a sludge buildup in it and I’m experiencing some random pain across my upper abdomen.
Hi I too had gallbladder surgery, over a month ago.Just now feeling myself.First week was the worst. So much better now.Hope you feel better soon.Hugs.❤
I'm 8 days into post op and my insides on the rigth side is definitely still sore , I get pain in that area if I take a deep breath , is that normal did u have anything like this ?
Less than a week, i needed this. i am older, and omg not great. i consider myself a fairly healthy woman, and have always been active. I have felt funky of head.
Hi I had my gallbladder removed 3 weeks back through single site incision on my bellybutton and this method is called “DaVinci”. First week I needed help to walk and I felt a lot of gas on my upper body. Walking helped a LOT. Second week felt soooo good. Energy levels were better and appetite increased, bowels were normal. Unfortunately, my incision hasn’t healed externally and it’s still open. The surgeon redid a few stitches and now will do a skin graft. I hope I can recover soon from the wound. Lots of love to all those going through the pain and all the best for your upcoming surgery. I’m very grateful to have done it as I no more have those gallstone attacks. 😊
Had a c section and 5 weeks later lap gallbladder removal. The surgery was nothing to worry about from having the c section so closely I couldnt worry about a gallbladder as I had to get home to breastfeed my daughter. No pain from the 2 surgeries so close to one another just some numbness and bloating. No special food just soldiered on and made it through.
Thats amazing! I had a c section 5 months ago and got this gallbladder issue now and am having surgery tomorrow. I'm so nervous and also how to breastfeed with it.. do you have any advice about that? Like what helped you?
i had mine removed on 25 April. i had to have a stent place in my bile duct. i had a JP drain in my belly for 38 days with drainage still going in the drain The drain was removed and a week and a half I was back in the hospital for another surgery to clean out a huge absess in my belly. i had to have another stent and JP drain placed. Drain came out a week and half later. stent came out the 28 of Aug. Glad that part was over. But the Covid i got while in the hospital almost killed me. all total i spent a 28 days in the hospital. Some very good doctors saved my life THANK YOU!
Hi Rach hope your doing well. My daughter had her gallbladder out due to projectile vomiting gallstones. 3 weeks post op and experiencing a lot of bone pain and lost over 4 stone on 4 months. Still being sick. Last few days my daughter cannot stop eating. Still being sick. Every time she eats she feels very dizzy and drunk. Never touched alcohol in her life. Does anyone have these symptoms. Stay blessed.
Omg. I told the nurse at the general surgeons office I am a single mom with no help period.. She said if I have surgery Friday I would be ok to drive my 8yr old to school Monday. This looks otherwise. And the equality gap just got wider! Cool you has so much help! Glad you did so you could put this video out. 💞✌
Having mine out in two days, it's an emergency. I dont have stones just a blockage. Two organs have shut down. I'm terrified! I know this is an old video but it was such a blessing.
@@mirandalizette3248 It went great. It was way easier than I expected it to be. Some pain but I never took anything more than tylenol. I'm still in the hospital but because of lingering heart conditions. I'll be praying for you hun. Blessings
They told me I wasn't supposed to take ibuprofen cz it could cause bleeding they told me Tylenol interesting how different dr do things different. Thanks for sharing I have pain in my lower abdomen and my button incision is below my belly button
Wish I’d seen your post gallbladder experience to prepare me for what comes next. I had mine removed Sept 2022 had breathing problems and so much pain similar to you. It’s weird as the external healing progresses but internally the discomfort continues. I’m not sure how you coped with all your family but think you’re blessed too. Not sure how long it takes to return to feeling normal and how diet will change. Very little post op advice given in to me in UK so looking at this platform for more info when I came across your account. Will continue my research, best wishes to you.
I had my gallbladder removed yesterday, was sent home after a few hours. My appendix was also removed. On 2/1/21 I had ds weight loss surgery. At that time the gallbladder was fine. I’ve been up and walking around and eating like normal. Just saying, although it has been hard on you, it isn’t hard for everyone. I’m 61 years old and have had my share of health issues, strokes, seizures, brain tumor among others. I hope your message and mine can help others feel comfortable with their decision to have the surgery.
Your daughters looks just like you. You are so lucking to have a community to take care of you. I didn’t have any support. I had my Gallbladder out and I regret it. I am trying to recover.Hope you have a speedy recovery.
OMG! So glad I found your channel. I am just 48 hrs out from my gallbladder removal surgery. It was MUCH MUCH more painful than I was expecting. I'm in otherwise good health and physically fit. So I honestly thought this wouldn't be all that terrible! WRONG! The constipation from the pain Rx is bad too. So glad to hear your story. I don't feel so alone.
@@paigeward42 - right now I’m feeling perfectly normal again. My surgery was on March 7th. The first 3 days were painful but NOT excruciating. I slept a lot. I was given heavy pain Rx’s, but only took them for two days as I didn’t need it anymore. Also, the pain Rx was an opiate which has a side effect of constipation. So, be prepared to handle that. Best wishes to you for a positive experience and healthy days ahead💕💕
Thank you for this video I had mine removed today I'm still in the hospital but the shoulder pain and chest pain is no joke. Prayerfully going home tomorrow
I had my gallbladder removed a week ago. There were some complications. I was put in ICU for 3 days bc my lab tests weren’t so good. I fainted 3x because of bleeding in my stomach. It was scary. But I am one week recovering and doing a lot of walking so I can go back to my daily routine.
Ur family is so beautiful and helpful 💗 And yes, u r very blessed to have all those meals brought to u! Thats awesome. How long before you started feeling no pain and going to the washroom? I just got mine out 2 days ago. So much pain and def. No goin to the washroom yet!
I'm 4 days post laproscopic cholecystectomy and the gas pressure that stayed in my upper right chest hurt so bad. The shoulder ached and it was hard to take in enough breath to clear my throat, let alone blow my nose, cough or sneeze! I am fortunate enough to have an electric lift chair and it has been my 'bed' since returning home. Still hurts like hell, but getting better. My gut issues are not fun, and I have to force myself to stay hydrated due to watery stools, but I am told that 'should' improve. A follow up video from you would be great!
Can I ask how you are doing now and how long did it take to feel better? I'm night 1 and can barely sleep. This pain is worst than I thought it would be 😔
Had mine taken out yesterday. Today is like night and day compared to after I woke up. It wasn't bad when I woke up, but when I started moving and the car ride home and all night, I definitely needed my pain killers they have me. Tomorrow, we will see how my incision marks are. Thank you for sharing. I'm glad I didn't see this till after, though, because I might have canceled if I did. Lol
i just started my recovery at home, so far just having a hard time finding the most comfortable way to sleep with the back pain i am having. my first night was pretty rough, but hopefully i'll get better nights soon. do you have any advice?
I had mine removed yesterday .i was also in so much pain last night and on the top that i have 2 month old whom is totally dependant on breastfeed and 2.5 year old ..so no resting for me😢
I had my gallbladder out 4 days ago. I am in excruciating pain. I can't sleep because the pain is burning through my back. My incisions hurt like hell. I'm nauseous and shaky. I was given tramadol and it does nothing for the pain, nor does tylenol or aleve.
@@kandykim6083 almost healed up. Still nauseous. I was given an acid reducer and Questran to solidify everything in my stomach to relieve the diarrhea. I was out of work for 16 days. The recovery was slow and unbearably painful. The pain I had before the surgery returned. My advice is to avoid fat and to understand every body is different. Thank you for asking and have a healthy, happy new year 🥰 I'm here to answer any questions or concerns!
Thanks for answering. Wishing you the same! I'm having my surgery on Thursday. Any advice on diet, pain management or anything you found that worked to ease the pain after surgery, would be greatly appreciated.
@@kandykim6083 They will give you painkillers. It didn't work for me. I used Aleve. I also had to stock up on Imodium, pepcid and Pepto. There are no diet restrictions, however it will be harder on your stomach to digest fats. Be sure to walk a little each day to relieve the bloating. Don't lift anything. Be sure to have enough groceries and toiletries, of course. I had an unusually awful experience. The incisions are tiny and the bandages can come off after a week or 2. I'm here if you need anything
Had my surgery five days ago and I'm doing pretty good. I want to mention something that I have never read before in all of these videos about what can take place after the surgery. For my first 3 days anything I drank anything I ate went right through me has diarrhea. In those three days I went to the bathroom maybe 25 times. Unfortunately no one told me that was a possibility and it freaked me out. This was the first day I was able to get food down and it stayed down so just be aware this possibility. I've also experienced pretty much all the other side effects that have been mentioned and other videos. This is not a picnic peeps. It's at least three days of hell.... but it will end.
@@starspangled2206 I assume that means you're going to have the surgery. To ease your mind a bit, I've watched a lot of videos and I have to say that my experience was much less traumatic. Not going to kid you, the first three days were the worst but nothing you can't deal with. It's now two weeks for me and I feel almost back to normal. I don't have to take supplements or Ox bile or digestive enzymes and I can eat just about anything low-fat and healthy. One of these days I may try a hamburger and fries again. 😁
@@Richie07a1 everybody is different on their recovery also. And it is early for you. I wish you well in your recovery. Things change all the time after removal even years out! I had mine removed 36 years ago. The doctor cut me from under my breast to my belly button. And used staples to closed. Not sure why he did it this way.😞 hurt like a B . Was in the hospital for 4 or 5 days with a drain. Guess I was very sick. I walked up and down the sidewalk in front of my home as soon as I could get down the steps.😀 Things are so much better in the way they do surgery now. Take care of yourself !👍🏻🙏🏼
I had my gallbladder out 2 weeks ago. The rolling to get out of bed is legit! It was probably over a week before I could get out of bed without pain. All my incisions were south of the belly button.
Just had mines done two days ago and I can relate to you on what it feels like. I also run out breath. It still hurts to get up and do certain things. But hopefully soon I can be back to normal. Taking all my pills eating very healthy too.
I had my gallbladder surgery in June and i felt like i could go for a walk the next day. I have never had any problems at all. I feel so very blessed to have come through this so well as i am 80 yrs. old.
I pray I feel like u after Tuesday cuz Tuesday is my day to get these stones out
@@stephanietorres3425 how is it like? I hope your getting better. I got mine out 5 months ago (nearly 6)!
The surgeon did say that they had to make the bellybutton hole bigger due to the gallbladder being swollen from gallstones.

My experience has been the same as yours. Lots of pain. Been a week. I've been walking a lot but still having pain. But it is getting better. But they did not go in my belly button. I had adhesions that had to be removed and they found something but it was not cancerous. Thank God
i have my surgery 10 days ago still in pain😢
Had mine removed over a year ago in the UK. After spending years feeling like I've been shot in my stomach. days curled up into a ball for 8 hour episodes, ending up yellow looking like a character from the Simpsons! Having it removed was the best thing that ever happened to me.
I had keyhole surgery. I was home the same day, no gas pain at all, no pain really just a bit tender. The only problem was needing help sitting up as my stomach muscles were not working 😅
For those worrying, life is much better, I'm still careful about eating certain foods due to the fear installed into my from all those old attacks. I had loose stools for about 2 weeks (I blame the curry my parents thought would be a good way to celebrate) after that everything is 100%.
Do it!
This has made me feel better. Im in the UK too and having mine removed on friday🤞🏼 seen so many negative stories of having it removed 😩
Thanks for your comment, I’m having mine removed tomorrow.

That is crazy I been having pain for a year I felt was my heart as well and just got diagnosed with gallstones!!!

Is there any problem of digestion or constipation now
I have a high pain tolerance which is why everyone was shocked at how inflamed and full of gallstones i had.
I’m having mine out in 3 days. I’m super nervous, but your video really helped 😊
How did you make out?

@@kika8224 my surgery is Dec 6th, any advice that may help me would highly be appreciated. Also, are you able to eat what u desire afterwards?.

I just had mine taken out yesterday. I’m experiencing everything you are. This is miserable. It’s a rough road. Much harder then I thought it was going to be. And the movie batteries not included was my favorite movie when I was younger. I watched it everyday at nap time. Also short circuit and cocoon.
I’m 18 that’s probably why my recovery wasn’t as bad as yours. But you’ll feel better soon, you have a lot of support
I'm in recovery now from getting mine removed 2 days ago. Thank you for sharing. I wondered why my collar bones were hurting.
I'm in love with the children, they're are so loving, caring and affectionate
To anyone who wants to remove their gallbladder, I'm at 36 hours after surgery and I feel great! I do have a slight pain but it's nothing compared to the gallbladder attacks I used to have. I can walk and eat whatever I want (of course don't eat fatty food at first). The only problem I have is pooping! It seems almost impossible at times and pretty annoying
Are you good now ?
@@hzbender Yep pretty much like nothing happened and I can eat and do whatever I want now. Sometimes a very slight pain just like gallbladder attacks come and go for like 5 or 10 minutes which I'm not sure what it is but I think it might be some small stones left over but the pain is very much manageable and very short lived my doctor said it goes away after some months
My moms nurse gave her stool softener, did you receive that?
@@theonelilybilly I didn't have constipation in fact my stool was almost always soft and sometimes even had diarrhea, All is good now. My stomach muscles were extremely sore so sitting and standing up was a painful challenge for me specially since I still had 2 drainage in my stomach. Also we use Asian toilets not western ones and it added to difficulty haha

I remember being in your shoes. I remember the pain being so unbearable, worse than when I had a C-Section. You are such a champ I hope by now you are doing better, took me about 3 weeks to kinda walk without pain, & it think u are about there! Sending you love and prayers! We are twins we have the same scars!!!❤😂😍
Im on 3 weeks & in pain. Everyone heals differently. Thanks!
Kidney stones are much worse. Pain has a purpose. It will prevent you from doing stuff that can aggravate the wounds, and you will heal better
I just had my first attack (last night) and I told the nurses it’s worse than c section pain!!
Omg this happened to.me ..im still leaking how long did it take for yours to stop..also they had to put a stent in me
Same i have a tube for drain for couple weeks was wondering if anyone else has it?
I just got it out 3 week's ago. I'm on my own. i've had togo out to do things & its grueling. The first few days I had some ppl bring me food & stuff. Also I went to the er 2 days ago, my chest was killing me all night, no sleep. I have not slept as much, I've felt extremely exhausted, but it could be bc I have a hard time sleeping to begin with. I had this surgery in 1998 and I had absolutely no problems. On my 3rd day, I went back to work. No pain meds.
Are you still doing ok?
Is anyone having issues with insomnia after gallbladder removal? I had my surgery about 17 days ago. Feeling good but wake up every night around 2-3 am.
Thanks for sharing your story. Hopefully your recovery is coming along well! As a physical therapist, just want to recommend that you massage your scars well once they are healed! Super important and often overlooked. So for a couple minutes a day, once they are nice and healed, make sure to rub your scar(s)!
I've noticed one of mine are hard almost like a hernia , willessage help?
God bless you and those children, hubby seems to be a good guy bless you all.
My surgery was done on April 12 still recovering some pain. I think God it’s out. I was really going through a lot of hell every time I ate something I thought I was going to die. I will keep looking in on your videos keep making them.
Good luck dear. I am scheduled for July 15th nervous too,
I am getting my surgery done tomorrow, 7 July. Hope to recover soon 🙏
I had my gallbladder removed September 10th 2019, exact one month after my 16th birthday worst pain I have ever been in... hope recovery goes smooth!!

What diagnostic test showed your cancer?
Hope everything can go well! I’ll be praying 🥺🥺🥺😊🤍
Thank you for your advice, very helpful
i also had laparoscopic surgery to remove a 7cm cyst on my ovary almost 4 weeks ago now. recovery has been tough, bearing in mind i’m only 16 :/ personally, i think the incision through the belly button was the worst pain during my recovery (besides the shoulder pain from the gas because that was SO painful). every time i stood up the pain was so intense in my belly button for the first 10 days or so, but now i’m practically pain free and headed back to work in 9 days!
Did you have any withdrawals from the pain meds
Thanks Rachel for sharing this. I’m having mine removed tomorrow.

Had my Gallbladder removed back in 1996. Was back at work within a week. No problems ever since.

Having mine removed today at 12 so here I am looking at videos I’m so scared I don’t do good with pain
Hey,how did it go? How are you now?
Thanks 4 the heads up.
I’m not looking forward to this.
@@starspangled2206 I assume that means you're going to have the surgery. To ease your mind a bit, I've watched a lot of videos and I have to say that my experience was much less traumatic. Was in the hospital for 4 or 5 days with a drain. Guess I was very sick. I walked up and down the sidewalk in front of my home as soon as I could get down the steps.😀 Things are so much better in the way they do surgery now. Take care of yourself !👍🏻🙏🏼
I was warned about that side affect.... And I'm not worrying about constipation lol
Hope you are feeling better, ,,your children are amazing ,God bless them. Just had mine painful is not the word
Glad you are getting better. OHANA WORRIER. Much Love and Good Vibes from Stokesdale, North Carolina ❤️🙌🤗👑
Just had my surgery yesterday. So much pain and trouble breathing 😢
I had my gallbladder out 2 weeks ago. The rolling to get out of bed is legit! It was probably over a week before I could get out of bed without pain. All my incisions were south of the belly button.
Same here the worst pain was in the shoulders. 😓
Out of bed was a challenge. but the worst was over within 5-6 days
Just had mines done two days ago and I can relate to you on what it feels like. I also run out breath. It still hurts to get up and do certain things. But hopefully soon I can be back to normal. Taking all my pills eating very healthy too.
