    Wishing you a great recovery!
Maybe I can put your mind at ease a little bit.
I had my gallbladder removed also, actually it was an emergency surgery and although they wanted to do it laparoscopically, it wasn't possible so they had to fully cut me open. I have a huge scar that goes from my side to up under my chest, so they literally flipped open my insides. I think I slept in a chair for like a week or so, walking and moving - unfortunately I had bronchitis at the same time, so a lot of coughing - was horrible. I had the same experience you have, In the beginning I could only eat soft foods, like soup, applesauce etc. and food was going right through me. But I can assure you that after a couple of years it has gotten so much better. I can eat everything and only when I eat foods with a higher fat content I have to make sure I am close to a bathroom, but that is something you can absolutely control yourself. I really haven't had much issue with this. Eating pizza now is not a problem, BUT I have lived in the US and I know from experience that a pizza in the US has a lot more fat than the Italian style kind of pizza we have here in Germany. Many American foods tend to be higher in fat. But, as I said, you are in control of what you eat so you can make wise choices. And just to put your mind at ease it does get better, it is not a life-long struggle.
One thing though, to this day I cannot sleep on my stomach and I have lost feeling there from being cut open. My partner has had a gallbladder removal - laparoscopically - like you, but unlike you he was pretty much up and about like 3 days after the surgery, with almost no problems. He even sleeps on his stomach.
I think it is a different experience for everybody. But the eating does get better. It is a slow process and you might have to change your eating habits a little bit. Personally I have more problems with vegetables, leafy greens and lettuce than with fatty foods, but that might also be a very individual experience. You just try out all kinds of food and make a note of what causes problems to you and try to avoid these things. In a year or so try them again and see if it has changed.
But I promise there will be changes! Good luck to you! Hopefully all your issues will be resolved and you won't have to go through any more of these life-threatening incidents like in Hawaii. Gallbladder removal - compared to those experiences - is like "nothing". Get well soon and I hope you feel better!

This is like the most comforting gallbladder removal video I have watched. I was diagnosed late last year and I have been scared to get it removed. My surgeon says I have to get it out cause I am diabetic. Thanks for the video. Wish you a speedy recovery from Nigeria

You are a very strong person to have gone through everything you've gone through and you're still here today. I understand determination and the fight to live for your kids. I am very happy for you that you get to be there an experience Fatherhood and experience this part of life. That is a true blessing. I havent gone through nearly as much as you but i fight everyday to stay alive because i have babies. I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old. I am on day 3 of gallbladder removal recovery. I have some questions. When will you start to drive again? Would you do an 8 hour road trip 2 weeks after this surgery? Just wondering. My ribs hurt sooo much and i could not take deep breaths at all after surgery.
There are supplaments you can take that can act as the gallbladder and do the gallbladders job. I googled what happens next after gallbladder removal and there are holistic supplements to help the body absorb nutrients from food as it goes through the digestive system. Did your surgeon tell you the state of your gallbladder and what was wrong with it?

day 5 of my surgery here, had to drive myself today to the follow up, definetly turning to see at stop signs or yield sign intersections is hard. No lifting heavy for 4 to 6 weeks, stopped taking the pain medecine "hydrocodone" the very next day only to night time, they are super strong and make you dizzy so i decided to keep them only to night time. Stopped taking the stool softener the second day after i was able to go to restroom with no issues. going back to work in 4 days, luckly im more office time than anything so i should be able to get back on my normal routine faster. Miss cutting my lawn lol

It is going to be the best experience for you! I do not regret having mine removed! Digestion has unfortunately been all over the place. At the beginning, I lived in the bathroom. Now, some days I need to drink some milk of magnesia to get the flow going. And then some days I’m like a volcano lol. Best recommendation is to stick to nutrient rich diet and limit the fried foods and junk food.

Did the doctors explain the risks on your liver in the future, without a gallbladder? You know, the main purpose of trh gallbladder is to protect the liver and intestines from damage. Bile flow directly in your intestine is not a healthy thing, you will experience diahreea pretty often. And no, for whoever is asking the forever question: will I be able to eat whatever? NO! It means a lifetime of diet. The hallbladder is a very important organ for a healthy digestion. I just wonder, why this explosion of gallbladder removal op.lately...🤔 we should all stay away from all processed foods, but it could be related to ...covid infections, or vaccines? It is just an explosion. And how come so many persons on youtube are like, let's tell my gallbladder removal story?! It seems fishy to me. Did you know, that over 40% of operated people have longterm complications like diahreea, and bowel problems , and these can come even in 6 months, 1 year post op? Think it all through before rushing in. And laparoscopic op. Has a great risk of pulmonary embolism?
