My suv sucks gasoline and has less usable space to store necessities. I can't Nomad in it. I could downsize library but I don't want to, don't have to YET.

HiHy squad member checking in! Well... _former_ member. I had an '07 HiHy, but now in an '11 Prius. The climate control just burned through too much gas - at least in the first generation HiHy. Of course, WOW, that 3.0 V6 + 3 electric MG's sure made it quick for a "soccer mommy mobile."

Kathleen is heroic. She, and many others in similar circumstances, manage to gather the most important necessities around them and keep going. Your channel serves as an on-line gathering point for nomadic folks where they can exchange ideas and resources and help each other and themselves along. the way. It’s like the trading posts from days of yore when our country was first being settled. Travelers would meet briefly, exchange news and share helpful tips for survival, maybe even swap supplies. Fortunately the internet and people like you help us spread these ideas and tips and put us in touch with even more resources for our journey.

I have found a nighttime hat to be frustratingly wanting to move around and especially try to escape my head. So I use a fleece bathrobe and place it beneath my shoulders and bunched up around my head. So if I move it’s within the fabric. No more tugging at a hat✔️
The hat I use has ear flaps and it ties under my chin… hope this helps.
They're "chucks" not chalk, lol..used em for patients as a nurse now use em for myself..love her minimalism..I have far too much but once my son stops "dropping in" for overnight visits or when I leave the area that'll change definitely 😊
Love that she has hobbies knitting art etc to keep her busy..most days I'm bored to tears..I'm also fairly stationary bc of family n obligations but the road is calling n springtime sounds perfect..appreciate her independence, esp in a smaller vehicle with a big puppy..she's mastered all she needs✌️❤️😊
She is also out west where there is more space to live partly outside her suv. I am jealous.
What about crappy weather? It's often too hot, cold or windy. Then what? Very confining.

After much contemplation, I have decided I could easily live as a minimalist with one exception... my leather working gear. I gotta have room for all my leather working tools, everything else, minimal. :)
Leather working is an excellent trade/craft/art to have on the road. Tools for your trade are not anti minimalist. No apologies.

This is so promising for me. I have one of the smallest SUV's on the road and they don't make them anymore. Mine is all packed and ready to go. I also have two min pins that will be with me. I really needed to see this video. I'm in training to be a backpacker. I need to order my attic so I can carry my backpack and screen room and a doggy stroller. And put those loose items I don't want inside my living space. I enjoyed this video. She is truly a minimalist.

Merry Christmas from Australia. I enjoyed this Bob thank you. I have been on the road in my van for just over a year now. When I left by unit, the van was packed and the floor was covered in 'stuff'. I have down sized a lot but still have more clothing than Lulu. She is a very creative lady. Clever idea with the fork light holder and the way her wood bed extension

She has a lot of skills that have come in very handy. It would sure be nice to able to live like that. I'm 1/2 way there in my travel trailer full time. She's blessed to have an income without having to work.

I think she is very amazing. An you get to take your dog with you ty for letting us see your dog. I was wandering what kind she was. I know this wasnt waht this was about. My eyes have gone bad eye do said got ataracts starting. O im not able to drive anymore so im thinking of minamalizing my house lol. doesnt mean i dont want to go on the road later. i ove to fish and be outside and thats who i was till this happend to my eyes, i lost my leg in 1996 in a farming acedent, fell into a grain ben auger. have not known what to do since. always doing research into solar power for a van life even though now i cant drive. But i always wanted to see America. every state maybe not hawaii. not much of a sailor. This is the life i wish i had.
You have inspired me maybe i wil look into what is wrong with my eyes i dont know what is really wrong. im scared of surgery. but this lets me think maybe if i try. even though it scares me that maybe i could have something out there to fill my dreams. ty for this post. i love this channel and Lulu you made me remember how easy it is just to live . What do you keep in your rooftop box? Do you keep a storage unit back "home"? Did you keep the seats you had removed? I have a Highlander that I consider using but always feel like I'd want more space. I'd love to hear more about your experiences, Lulu!
The attic holds my chair, table, books, extra yarn, yoga Matt, and stuff, yes I have a storage unit, yes I kept my car seats.

The thing that was not talked about:::::it’s a hybrid so she could use the a/c and heat all night long off the hybrid system:
I wondered about that. She has no fans. Wondered how she could survive heat.
Along as her car battery does not run out of charge.

@@janet1744the gas engine will turn on to recharge the battery and then turn off just like a Prius
l think l would be disappointed with 23mpg even with that roof carrier, considering that SUV has a overall 36mpg rating.
