She just wants a hug! I made a lonely Cactus Fairy for the Valentine's Day.

I know, I know. The Valentine's Day was last week, so this video is a little bit late.
To be completely honest - this project wasn't originally on my schedule, so I didn't have the base doll prepared in advance.
Almost every single part of this project was insanely time consuming, but I hope, that in the end, all my efforts paid off.
It's a tradition now, here on my channel, that Valentine's specials have to be a bit sad, so this girl isn't an exception. Little lonely Cactus Fairy... just longing for some warm hug.
I hope that she will get some love from you, to ease her sorrow :)

I think was the weight of her sadness that broke the pot. She is absolutely stunning. Those closeups at the end showed all her sadness. Very impressive workmanship

You definitely outdid yourself with this one, the sculpt, the stand THE HAIR???? I'm sooooo amazed by this one edit: you could add some kintsugi to the pot to even more resemble the broken-ness of this character
The pot was doomed anyway. It cracked further yesterday so I will have to repot her before I will bring her to my mom :P Maybe a metal pot this time? :D
More cracks just mean more gold and it adds to the theme even more lol. Or even just paint a bowl to make it look like it
@@Mephistoasted tbf i dont think it would work on this subject :( these are stress breaks caused from constant pressure and repotting is the best bet cause the pot will keep breaking each time you try to seal it
Yeah that makes sense. You could probably just paint one to make it look like it though. Like maybe sculpt your own clay pot and carve some little grooves to make it look like they were cracks and then paint em gold?
I just imagine her ideal friend as an Arizonian bobcat creature of sorts, since there's been a quite few spotted sitting on huge cacti! 😊

She is gorgeous! A great balance of sad, creepy and lovely. Your sculpting amazes me. You always do a fantastic job, even if you run into problems along the way. Her hair is so cute. What a super idea, that looks so closely to a cactus flower. Sorry, your pot broke. Maybe it was her magic exploding with her great misery. She is stuck in this moment of anguish, but she should know, most cacti, IRL, have a companion, maybe a bird, owl, mouse, squirrel or insect that builds a home. Though not a lover, maybe she could eventually have a friend/fiend?! Anticipating the next project. 🥺🦅🦉🐀🐿🪲🌵

I can't be the only other touch adverse person who'd love to be a cactus fairy, right? Like poor baby wants a hug, but I'd be living my best life if no one could put their hands on me ever again xD Also the cactus flower hairstyle has to be my favorite part of this customization! It's so ingenious

I think that's partially the reason I like Goth fashion, especially things that feature unreasonably large metal spikes.

Wonderful! She’s definitely my favorite from the sad Valentine series. I think it’s the tears, or maybe that the pink tone around her spines makes them look like they hurt her. She seems tough, vulnerable, wistful, melancholy and resigned all at the same time.❤

It would be really cool to see a tree fairy, but maybe, a burnt tree that’s been in a forest fire. You could even add embers in the ash too. I think that would be super cool

Your pieces are always so beautiful. I love the detail and expression your pieces have even without crazy outfits. The creative stands you make just make the peaces standout. However I feel robbed of kitty litter!

More alchemy from a marvellous artist and sculptor. It somehow fits this beautiful but sad little cactus princesses narrative that she missed her Valentines deadline. Who wouldn't risk those thorns to make her smile? Just brilliant! The cracked pot was sent to test you but you passed with flying colours 😀 👍🏼
So happy you like her ^_^ I can spend hours and hours on each phase of the project, no problem, but I always underestimate the amount of work that I put on myself XD Always bite more than I can chew :P So I am horrible at deadlines XD

I love how your dolls are always more of a sculpture than just a doll. I haven't seen that in this community before and it's so cool and interesting to see what poses and things you do with them.
This little fairy is so cute! I love cacti and succulents and she really does pull on the heartstrings. I just wanna wrap a blanket around her and squeeze her tight!
Thank you so much! I got the inspiration of making doll figurines instead of articulated dolls from Earth to Lylah :) She is a total pro! But now I am seeing that my own work inspires others to do their customs similar to me, so there will be more of those in the future, I think :)

some cool character concepts you add to grow the species in your world lol you could do a mormo, scylla, echinda, valkyrie, campe, kraken, basilisk, hydra (multiple heads), a leprechaun, and a yeti (lol it would be soooo cute 😭) a lot are from greek mythology. I feel like you would come up with such amazing concepts for these with your girls ❤️ thank you for making videos like this. OMG AND A MUSHROOM FAIRY 😭😭😭
Honestly, I was screaming, "Where's the Sponge Fairy ?!" The spikes could poke the sponge no harm done.besides sponge colors are complementary to cactus color. She is just too adorable not to hug, despite all the danger.Your mom is so lucky to get all your adorable sad fairies.

I feel like a cool concept for this doll would be that her spines work like porcupine spines do. She can put them down when she feels safe and put them up for self defence when she feels threatened. I also think that she would be very skittish and always have her guard up. That's why she is so sad, because no one can get close to her and her heart... Literally and figuratively-

Oh my Sorcery of Life magic she's gorgeous! Even though sad but cute, I think I'll call her Iloydii named after the Ariocarpus Iloydii cactus born on Feb 12th.
(Story)
Iloydii was born from a Cactus patch and was unloved by anyone, her first lover abandoned her for another more prettier fairy from the flower field but was viciously rejected.
This left poor Iloydii alone grieving crying her tears day by night. One day a human women named Anna wanted to buy a plant to heal her broken heart because her boyfriend cheated on her
with her sister right before on Valentine's, the father was disgusted and threaten the boy to never come near his eldest or youngest daughter ever again. As she was looking for a plant
for her new home since she moved out of her parent's house she heard soft crying, she found Iloydii all alone all sad & all alone, as soon as they met and start to get to know each other
Anna decided to buy the cactus that Iloydii was living in & took them both home.
As they arrive to Anna's house Iloydii was amazed by her home that was filled with not just flowers but Cactus as well, plus their were few flower fairies & cactus fairies just like Iloydii
this made her the happiest cactus fairy, the next day Valentine's Day arrived Iloydii made a cute cactus heart for Anna and she loved it no matter how prickly it may be the spikes never bother her anyway. Iloydii finally moved on & found someone new a sweet Pereskia (Rose Cactus) Rose Cactus fairy a very handsome fellow, this was the best Valentine's Day for Iloydii
She her new lover, new friend's fairies & human friend Anna will have a better life blooming for a new future.

This concept makes me think of an old and famous french children's musical (made for children, not by children) called « Émilie Jolie ». One of the characters is a hedgehog, and he's sad because nobody wants to pet him, for obvious reasons. But if I remember correctly, someone does pet him at the end of the story, and I'm pretty sure it's Émilie Jolie herself. So there's hope for this lovely fairy !

my cousin accidentally fell/sat on a cactus when i was really little, or it was before i was born, i just know the story. my dad had to pull them out with pliers and it was horrible for my cousin. he never went near another cactus after that XD

In the video I just fixed the crack, but it broke further after I finished the video. The line goes now all the way to the front and it has sharp edges that brakes under the fingers - definitely ready for repoting XD

I love the cactus fairy. the hair exactly reminds me of cactus blooms. One idea I always thought would be cool is the idea of a Dreamcatcher Nightmare. Dream catchers are supposed to catch nightmares in their webs for them to dry/die when the sun comes up. so what would the opposite be? i have full faith that your concept for that would be amazing.

Valentines was never some happy celebration for me. Just a random day with either a lousy boyfriend, who always forgot, or with no one at all (those were way better XD). I met my husband when I was over 30yo, so I have a lot of lonely Valentines behind me :D
Just decorate the pot.....add vines or use the brown tufts with purple flowers....or put the pot in another pot! 😊
