Finally a review on this amp ive been thinking about getting one but couldn't find any reviews on it thank you for making this video keep up the good work
There’s a reason Stetsom is the only amp I run, price being the major reason. Even the EX1200EQ is mental for a little amp. I only wish they did US sponsorships
I have been running stetsom for about a year now. HL800.4 and the DB3000 2ohm Running 3 CT sound Stratos All Sealed enclosure Broke my sunroof from roof flex Want to add one more 12 in strato to get it closer to the 2ohm load Currently running at 2.66 ohm Plenty of clean power and low bass
Stetsom is known for their problems with vibration damage but for the price these are good amplifiers. I'd still rather get myself a Banda or even a Soundigital amp.
I always feel bent over when I buy a 2 ohm Stetsom BC the 1 ohm version always does a lot better, this 1 ohm can draw over 40 ampere difference at 12.6v, over 12.5% more current. This Bass version has a sweet pre amp section I must say, would be good if they said what their slopes are, hopefully 24dB. I've got an 8k coming this week, I feel like I may have fkd up lol
Nah it won't, I ran 8vrms in to my Vulcan fine for a week. It exploded because I burped it at full tilt, 8kw at 60hz, just for a second to measure the current (so I could determine what fuses to install) while the engine was off. I had 2 Optima Blue D31M 900CCA batteries and a 100A power supply running but I reckon the voltage must have sagged a shit ton and caused excess current on the psu side of the amp, which is exactly why you always want to buy an amp with over current protection! this cheap ass crap does not! I was measuring the voltage and current but I didnt see it fall that far, my meters probably too slow to catch it. I should have had a 1000F cap at the very least. 1000 Farad, 1000 ampere, 1 volt of drop after 1 second.
@@minus3dbintheteens60 they don’t like voltage outside of their range either but, I promise you it would have cooked running 8v to the inputs. It’s the common thing I’ve seen in first hand experience (helping a local audio shop when I managed an auto repair shop) and on the bassheadlife Facebook group.
Thank you for this vid! How loud would you rate the fans? Fan noise is keeping me from getting a Taramps. Looking for a quiet amp in a daily driver, not a SPL build. Thank you!
Your welcome lukc, honestly I didn’t even hear them without putting my hand by them lol, but could be different when it’s hot hot as RPM increases. My 8000s are barely loud and I’m running 4.

Why did you measure power like that you should have just used a test tone, the power readings you got are useless. Also I would have liked to see the inside of the amplifier.
The silver tape on the back says "WARRANTY VOID IF REMOVED" so why do you think he's going to show you the inside of the amp? Now, you're just asking for too much.
@@characterflawless1381 Because it is a review lol, Like every other channel that reviews amplifiers and if we want to be technical not having the amplifier installed by a certified tech automatically voids the warranty in case of amplifier failure. But to those that don't know what they're looking at it wouldn't matter anyway so... 👌🏼
I went with the taramps smart3k its 3k at 1or 2ohm and 267.with tax shipped from ebay clip light included...i was looking into this but i read reviews on amazon and taramps had alot better
In 1994 the most powerful mono amp of this size is a 250 watts 2 ohm stable with class AB topography. In the late 90s/early 2000s you get could get a class D amp of this size that is rated at 500 watts. The latest class D mono amp of similar size for an SQ application is still only 500 to 600 watts but that’s due to more robust circuitry.
@@davidperry4013 you’re incorrect. The best full bridge Brazilian amplifier is the Powerus. There literally the best full bridged Brazilian amplifier that you can buy.. but there very pricey.
The build and look of Stetsom amps is awesome. And they are powerful for such a small footprint and they run cool.
I have 3 ststsom 5ks and there the best amp I ever bought. Hands down.
Really...I'm thinking of getting either this one or the Taramps smart 3k

Sound digital not bad. Just hate plastic adjustment knobs and the stupid crossover is junk
What about Taramps??
Just open it up and silicone or glue the fuck out of the larger components lol
Good morning what are you using to power the amp and how many volts does this amp require
90ah lithium and 14.4-14.8v
Thanks for the information

Nice looking amp. Is it better than taramps???
Both about same power output for the footprint size and price, down to user preference. 👍
So is this essentially a Vulcan 3000 relabeled or do you know the differences / upgrades stetsom did to the board, power supply etc?
Probably only same casing but internals different as it’s a Bass only output board for lower frequencies.

A bit late. You mentioned it accepts 2/0 oversize. What size/ brand wire did you use? Just ordered this amp and don't want to get the wrong size wire
I put 1/0 ofc 0 gauge wire here ( amzn.to/3GhPw7X ) with no issues. Short 3' run from back battery to the amp is perfect.

Your woofer flex have me curious recheck the woofer on the right make sure it's done the same way . The one on the left flexes more then the right
Just looks like this because the camera shows the left woofer more from a side angle.
wish it was 4 channels all channels at 4 ohms 700 watts rms and the amp still this size
Did the amp get hot or does it have good heat disapation?
Not at all, the cover casing of amp may get warm but not brutally hot just warm as the fans help keep it cool too.
