- Oculink EGPU adapters are some of the coolest tech on the market and I hardly see any other youtubers talking about it?! Watch me turn an old Ryzen laptop into a capable GAMING PC by adding a desktop GPU to it!

Not the hero we expected, but the hero we needed. So glad you're alive lmao
But he didn't tell you that it will restart the laptop randomly with any fluctuations in electricity or Electromagnetic interference And you just won't be able to solve it. I guess sometimes truth isn't good enough and sometimes people just needs to be rewarded for their faith.
@@johnme60 Can we solve this problem?
@@emwatchpaopapao9819 I still couldn't solve the issue. I just got an idea. Using an isolation transformer which will separate other electric line from this setup and it will provide clean power hopefully , But I'm not sure it will work. And I'm unable to find this transformer nearby. I'm looking for it.
For now I use it with my battery and inverter , I remove the main grid electricity , When battery gets low I restart the laptop removing the eGPU connector. and now I charge by battery . But can't use eGPU. Just integrated graphics.
The king returns with an upload I was recently looking for....weird but thanks! 👍
Way to be resourceful! Love to see this kind of stuff.
Bros back!!!! And with a new banger!!! Thanks for the awesome content love you bro❤🤩
Yooooo!!!! Soooo happy you're back bro!!! Could you do another video with an update on your Joystick Mechanical Keyboard?!? 🙏👀
Damn it, I was really close to filling RUclipss missing content creator forums, thank god you are alive and well!
Also, are you done with showing the way to controller players to abandon AA? Gyros seems like the future.
I hope you keep posting man. I love your videos
I stumbled across a downloaded vid I had of your $300 budget gaming beast PC and I literally came back just to sub
Youre a genius ISTG
I've been waiting forever man nice to hear from you
Nice! I have a few 7700k/1060qmax laptops that I wanted to try this on to boost pcvr on, I might give it a go!
Bro I miss your crazy controller inventions! Hope this channel isn't dead
OMFG!!!
Thank you!!!
I have the Teclast F12 which I love so much but too bad it doesn't have the frames sold so when the casing got broken due to wear and tear, I was thinking of ways on how to still utilize it.
Your video did waaaaaaaaay more than that... it will help me to upgrgade this since the things you mentioned matches EXACTLY the same issues I had with the Teclast F12.
Thanks so much!!!
Waiting on new mouse controller videos
Same, I search about once a month to see if a new one drops 💀
Came across your video from looking for eGPUs. Great video!
Would you be able to leave some links to some of the products you used. I also dont have a 3d printer so would like to know more about this and your design too?
Thank you for your video. It helps me a lot.
You can remove wifi card and add M.2(A+E Key) to 2 Ports SATA3.0 for booting natively from sata SSD. Off course you have to add USB 5 volt with a cable and add a USB network card. Looks also great in this state. Cheers.
Ok trying to do this. I’ll let you know if it works
Why not use a M.2 E-key (WIFI-slot) to M.2 M-key adapter, so you can still use your NVME drive from the other slot in which you will now have plugged the Oculink adapter? Or won't it be recognized by the BIOS as a boot drive?
Hi Tech Yesterday, thank you so much for your Oculink video! I'm from Pakistan and it's very hard to afford gaming PCs and EGPs here. Your video really helped me understand things better. I actually have an old GPU lying around and I'm planning to try this out with my laptop, which has similar specs to yours. Fingers crossed it works out! Keep up the good work!!😊
I wish you luck and will pray for your success!
@@Alexander_Bahgheera thanks
Finalyyy he is back
He’s back! ❤️❤️❤️
my #1 fan :)
Man, my laptop has this port on the back, but I never found a use for it.
I don't need to use an adaptor from NVME to Oculink (SFF-8611) thank you very much, you're the best.
Please do an update on the joystick keyboard maybe make it wireless or make a variant with wasd for movement and extra thumb buttons
Great video ! Thank you
STL for that enclosure would be sick
He’s back and better then ever, hoping for another console killer video.
Same
Wow you are back❤
Great video 👍
Yesterday, I was following you on Top from Iraq
Its very good idea, as if you open the back cover of a laptop all the heat exit fast enough, the cpu and all other pc component stay cool at most of the time
You're alive! Great job on this, any chance you could post an updated discord invite with no expiry onto your last keyboard video? Link expired and anyone posting it in the comments keep getting it deleted by youtube.
Great video 👍, Could you test oculink on an acer swift go 14 or acer Swift 3 Because they have 2 ssd slots
I was wondering if you could make a tutorial on how to make one of your joystick and also be able to work with consoles?
this is hero we need, tks sir
Hey man, nice video. Let me ask you: I saw you bought like three different adapters, but went with the one which looks specifically advertised for the Thinkpad 14. Did the one with the vertical insertion work? I'm looking to buy it, but the information seems scattered to say the best. Any info would be much appreciated
Can u build some crazy gyro control like it will give friction. Something similar to camera gimbal
Can you continue the controller v5 to v6 maybe? My idea is that replacing the joystick on the left, instead adding 3 or 5 mechanical keys at the back of the left controller in a 45 degree. And maybe another key on top of the left side as spacebar
This is because most games like csgo needs individual fingers to control the movement such as conter strafing and jiggle peak. Idk if its possible to install them tho
Now that there is graphics cards with m.2 slots would be very interesting to try this out
What I understand are not for sale yet
You can make this pc portable, or mount it to the back of you monitor! Plus you can remove wifi module from m2 slot and run it through USB (or buy USB module), or connect internet wire.
Omg he’s alllliiiiivvvvveeeee
Love the video any chance u could upload the stl files for the mount
Great job! Is there a place where I could download the 3d print DIY enclosure? Thanks!
Waiting for the mouse pro controller since 2 years! Why no update? When do will you start to produce?
Voice crack go hard
good video! I myself have a 15s eq 5700u HP laptop and would like to connect an egpu to it. Which slot is best suited for this? the MPcie slot from the WiFi or the m2 slot from the SSD? And if the m2 slot is better for the egpu, can I use the m2 SSD again with an adapter on the mpcie slot? I would then get WiFi via USB. Greetings
That's insane! Is Thunderbolt easier/better? Yeah but the prices are absurd... Most go for over 100 USD
Could I have your design for the DIY 3D mount please ?
But make sure if you use your laptop as a desktop and you got it plug it in all the time, remember to unplug the battery. The battery in my Lenovo laptop started to bulge up, and the internet tells many stories of batteries bulging up and even ignite from constant charging. But also you can get a new monitor for the laptop...
Need to rig up an enclosure
Can we use 2 monitors for this kind of setup? 1st is from the screen of my laptop then the 2nd monitor will be from the GPU? Using the iGPU of the laptop
What about using the m.2 e-key WIFI slot instead?
If I have a thunderbolt port, then is it possible this would work with m.2 to thunderbolt adapter since thunderbolt are still connected to pcie lanes?
Can you put the links to the stuff you used in the video in the description?
I have the same oculink adaptor and connected it to my dell vostro pcie4.0 nvme slot and I can't get the GPU to even be detected. I haved turned the power switch on and psu is on. Lights on gpu turn on. I have tried to have gpu turned on first and second. I have a gtx 1080.
I had that nvme adapter and it died after having random frequent disconnects. The Amazon reviews reflect this.
So how did you get around it? Did you buy a new adapter and if so which one?
@@abelcristiantimbalari7861 I sent it back. I replaced it with a non enclosed adapter that supports nvme as well as m.2 sata. I've had it for 4 years and even ran windows from it for a year. If you google "M.2 to USB Adapter, RIITOP M.2 NVMe & NGFF SSD to USB Reader Converter Adapter for Both B Key and M Key SSD" you should find it.
I have a question does having this reduce the performance of the gpu in any way like only being able to reach 70% of its performance even while paired with a good cpu and is it better or worse than the performance with a thunderbolt 3 eGPU?
Hi,
1. Does your m.2 in your laptop have pcie 3.0 or 4 0?
2. The egpu adapter with oculink, is it pcie 3.0 or 4.0?
Thanks
hi, instead im connecting to the nvme slot inside the laptop, can i just simply using nvme enclosure and connect the oculink cable to it and then connect the nvme enclosure to the usb type c port at the laptop..can it works?
There is a gpu which has an SSD slot inbuilt. Would that work too ?
couldn't you have use that USB to NVME enclosure to conect the external gpu instead of that whole thing with your ssd?
I know this would be a stretch but I see no other way of contacting you.
I would love to buy or atleast build my own version of the mouse controllers you had been working on a few years ago.
I had followed that project but never saw a continuation so I figured its a discontinued project. But if you have any remaining copies or parts I would be very interested in them.
Can you make a video pls I want you to make your own Azerons one handed keypad which has connected joystick module of Arduino and 16 keys to single Arduino nano I don’t know how to connect both so pls make a tutorial for me
any chance you can list the parts you used here? specifically the "enclosure" that you screwed everything in and that has a square bracket to fit the PSU snuggly into. What's that frame called? Where can I buy one? Thanks!
I'd definitely be interested in parts list.
Can you give the Amazon link plz
Could i make my pc'motherboard as an eGPU: connect the motherboard to electricity (disconnect all other cables: hdd...) And connect the graphics card to my laptop hdmi and to sata slot on laptop'motherboard?
Could I plug it in to the nvme wifi slot in my laptop? Assuming it's the same key. I haven't checked
Where do get the stand piece to hold the gpu and power supply?
Hi
I have 2 m.2 ports both pcie 3.0 x 4 but no oculink port
Is R43SG going to provide the same performance as a m.2 to oculink adapter?
Will you add gyro on the mouse controller and hall effect ?
Bro, can i instal de VGA card with no power pin like intel ARC 380 low profile, and instal it without PSU?
Can you run stable diffusion on this setup?
Bro talked about everything but the EGPU itself.
Hello can you share the STL for the mount? I really need it
Hi, did you have "graphic device crashed" error while running God of War? Some time it was crashed once startup game.😢
HELP! my gpu is not detected .im using gtx 960 . what can i do ?.thank you
that bandwidth is pci e 3.0 X4?
Hey please don’t give up I. The controller ppl like me need it
The steam deck is the closest thing to replicating what your doing with the controller
Dose it matter witch one you buy for a laptop brand or do they all kind of work on mostly on everything?
Yes
Eeeeee lets goooo
Its been so long, thank you for introducing me to PC gaming🦾
Can you try doing the same but this time with ADT-Link K43SG if you haven't done so already?
why, the oculink is faster and cheaper
Do you have the file for that 3d print dock please my man
Bro the links to buy all the stuff?
Can you put links to the devices
Im currently thinking on doing this with my surface pro 9 i7 1255u. Remove the mobo out & few other things then install the mobo into my mini itx case & oculink my rtx 3080 fe to it. I do want to remove the battery out & have it powered from my razer chroma pcb mobo to install some other parts into it.
i love that ide! i was thinking of doing that same thing.
@@techyesterday4960 Hey bro I sent you an email about having a controller built.
@@techyesterday4960 I'd love to see it possibly done, therefor I could copy & paste the project. I don't really know how to get reconfigure the settings tbh & I only learn from my mistakes but my surface pro 9 is currently my only pseudo pc setup I have.
Might need your help on something, if you have a discord gonna send you a truly bad ass idea
Can’t find it anywhere on the internet!
Can't you run your external GPU through Thunderbolt?
what is that open pc case ?
Does the card trigger the PSU to power up?
bro did you drop the mouse controller project ?
Think he said before that he didn't have the software skills to keep going and moved on to the keypad.
I cant find any cool looking oculink egpu enclosures
so what if you plug the egpu into the external usbc m.2 drive..? would that still work? You'd be able to leave your laptops m.2 where it originally was and just plug in a usbc cable and get an external gpu. Correct me if i'm wrong tho.
doesn't work, u need direct PCIe link to the PC and that ext. ssd only support USB 3 link
ima try this on my lenovo thinkpad that i has i7 8th gen.
Do you have the stl of the mount
can you please send 3d printing file
Hello where Can I contact you to guide me this set up pls 😢
You also have the option of "FSR" in stick form. It's called a 4k Gamer Pro. You don't need high resolution to do 4k 60fps. The only thing that matters is to find a resolution that keeps a constant 60fps. Then turn on the 4k Gamer Pro and get HDR 4k 60fps. You only need a 1080p active signal for the 4k Gamer to work. 640x360 and 1366x768 are both active 1080p signals. 360p is only recommended on 2d games. 1366x768 is minimum for 3d games to play in 3840x2160 60fps HDR. I highly suggest abandoning full on GPU rendering because all GPUs max out on 1440p and a little bit of 4k. Scaling beats rendering 100 percent.
Wtf are you talking about
@@GameOver-nm2us Upscaling is better then pushing the GPU to it's limit. You have way more breathing room. FSR or a 4k Gamer Pro is good. 900p looks good upscaled to 4k with the 4k Gamer Pro. If wanted to use 720p instead of 900p. You would need to cap your windows display on 1080p because that's how the unit registers the upscale. The 4k Gamer Pro needs a 1080p active signal. That's the only thing that's important. Instead of using the regular HDMI port. Use the display port only so everything on the desktop stays locked on a 1080p active signal. From there you could run your games in 720p or 900p to get a good 4k upscale. You can confirm 720p or 900p is actual 4k by pressing the info button on the TV remote. That's how you know you did it correctly.
@@100Bucks oh, yes I do understand all that. I just thought you were a crazy person saying "Grr only native 4k gaming is acceptable grr this is bad blah blah blah" but yeah you do make a good point
If my laptop has a dGPU and connected to a eGPU via oculink, will I be able to use 2 gpus simultaneously for different programs ?
I think it depends what GPU you set on a specific program
Links to item?
what gpu dock do u use?
Early, I deserve the roller with the mouse scroll wheel🗣🔥
