- Welcome to our channel! I am a blind mom to two amazing girls and wife to my high school sweetheart who loves to share inspiration, joy, creativity, and the reality of growth through the struggle, and through supporting one another. I share lifestyle, craft/DIY, mom-life, disability-awareness, disability-etiquette, and guide dog/service dog related content, videos, and vlogs.
My family and I are in the process of transitioning this channel to a family channel, and the. name will be changing at some point in the near future. Thank you for your patience as we make these changes and make some important decisions about our channel and content. We will be sharing about our journey with Evie's autism, life as parents with two kiddos, disability and differences and how they do (and don't) impact us and our family, and the same Crafty Blind Chick content which will be categorized when specific CBC videos are posted.. Since Mother Nature is going through some sort of serious mid-life crisis, the weather in Minnesota changed rapidly from winter to summer, with less than a few days of true "Spring" in between. I'm the kind of cleaner who needs to be able to open the windows for Spring Cleaning, so the options were to "Spring Clean" while it was still snowy and freezing outside, or to wait until I could open the windows and really enjoy the process.

Oooh, hi Sweetpea! Thanks for commenting…. So, about a year ago! Was your vision loss unexpected or due to a known condition? That doesn’t make it any easier, I know. I hope you’re finding some resources and services in your area to help you adjust to blindness and gain skills and confidence to be your best, most confident self. Big hugs, and welcome. I swear I AM trying hard to get content made and out, it’s just been a slow process and a wacky few years.
@@theblindmomnextdoor it’s was unexpected and I didn’t know how bad it had actually gotten until just recently. I just graduated O&m and have applied for a guide dog through GDB. Still not sure about vr. I enjoy your videos.
It is FANTASTIC that you were able to get O&M training!! Congrats on your GDB application, that’s exciting!! I don’t know what state you are in, but VR can be a HUGE help as you work toward adjusting to your blindness and determining what your future will look like! It sounds like you have exciting possibilities ahead! ❤️
