I only discovered you a week ago and binged A LOT of your videos ever since. Watching you makes me feel like a friend is keeping me company. I've added so many TBR cause your reading style totally fits my taste. Also I really LOVE your bg music choices!! So glad I found this channel. Slowly becoming my fav booktuber and even youtuber in general 🥰
Idk about anyone else but I find myself re-watching Ally’s vids often bc they are so enjoyable and peaceful in a way. The vibes are always immaculate ✨
I love Convenience Store Woman. It was so well-executed in its short pages. I definitely think the MC is autistic-coded, as many say. I think it is, at its core, about how corporate and neurotypical people can immediately spot when workers are "different" and neurodivergent and how they take advantage of them accordingly. MC fully deserved a raise, and even asked for one once, and when shut down, did not further pursue it. It's obviously also about societal expectations and that some people truly thrive with a simple, routined life, but its also about the above, I think. I just loved it. It stuck with me so clearly- years later.
You've inspired me to re-do my bookshelves because yours are not only beautiful but fun, too. Thank you for such a delightful tour! Side note: My partner and I read aloud to each other every night, and for the past couple weeks, we've been reading "Braiding Sweetgrass.". Last night when we finished one of the few remaining chapters, he said to me, "I'm sad this book is almost over. I'm going to miss it." And that, ladies and gentleman, is why this man is the love of my life. ❤
@@allisonpaiges Thank you for such a sweet comment, Ally! We have several books we're trying to decide on, but we're leaning toward Noah Strycker's "The Thing with Feathers: The Surprising Lives of Birds and What They Reveal About Being Human." 😊
seeing your beanie baby inch worms have always made me so happy, so I dug mine out of my parent's attic the last time I was there and he lives on my bookshelf now 🥰
The way I GEEKED when you said you wanted to get different international editions of your favourite books and then held up The Little Prince cause that is what I have done with that specific book🥹💕 You have so many books I want in paperback that haven’t even come out in 🇨🇦 yet (ex. lonely castle in the mirror)😭😭 Your bookshelf is set up beautifully! The Howie shrine is my fav section 🐾 Thank you for another cozy upload! My book nerd heart always feels inspired after watching your vids🤓🤟🏽
I read about 60 pages of Circe before I stopped....it just sitting on my shelf now. We'll see if I ever pick it up again. I also DNFed Song of Achilles around 65% done, I've realized that greek mythology just isn't my thing.
I loved Red, White, & Royal Blue and One Last Stop. You can’t go wrong with starting with either. I’m also looking forward to I Kissed Shara Wheeler as soon as it’s my turn at the library.
I was going to ask if you could do a graphic novel video so I got so excited when you said you were planning on it. I would love that 🥰 Also loved the catbug cameo ~~
I loved this tour! It's so fun to hear you talk about your collection, not just read every title like a lot of other tours do. I too own every Casey McQuiston and have yet to read one. Most of my book collection is unread, so this tour definitely encouraged me to read more of my physical books. I did finally read ACOTAR last year, well worth my time, and enjoyed the Crescent City books just as much. Thank you for sharing!
I just read crying in H mart, and it made me cry multiple times. My mom had cancer, and my mom and I have the same relationship as the author. I checked it out from the library, and I’m going to order a copy from my local bookstore. I loved it so much
We have same IKEA bookshelf! I’m sure a lot of people do! But it still makes me happy! Though I’m wondering how yours are holding up, because at some point the weight of my books was too much and we had to do some emergency power drilling and add a few screws. And you’ve got two shelves and way more books 🧐👀
I love how colorful your bookshelves look, your videos are a breath of fresh air! Keep up the great work!! 😍💜 I have a personally fun question for you. Which upcoming new releases are you most anticipated to read this summer?
the only new release i know of so far is the second book to middlegame but i've heard from people it was a bit of a letdown! otherwise: yerba buena by nana lacour :-) she doesn't get released until the summer out here but i got her through book of the month. top most anticipated book of the year!
cant wait for your thoughts on 'on a sunbeam' one of my favorite graphic novels for sure!! and i'd love if you talked more about graphic novels- i love them too! my taste seems to be a little more action oriented than what you have on your shelf but i think you should check out 'the girl from the other side'! it's manga with a neat art style and a super interesting story that feels both whimsical and dark somehow. great video!
ok so the thing with shadow & bone (for me) is that i read it as the show was coming out and the show absolutely slapped. definitely watch it if you haven’t (especially for The Crows). HOWEVER, i feel like i’d have dnf’d the series at book 2 if it weren’t for the show. especially Siege & Storm because that book had so much “we’re walking, we’re walking and we’re walking some more. also we ate bread and cheese”. they’re entertaining but, in my opinion, definitely something that probably would have meant more to you as a teenager instead of an adult. seriously though, watch the show if you can! it’s amazing.
I had to watch the movie the Secret garden to get a picture of the characters in my head. Not usually a problem but I just needed a reference and it helped a ton! I think with classics having an idea of what the characters are supposed to look like and act like help so much!!!! Can't wait for that vlog uh
Omg yayyyy I’ve been waiting for this for ageeeees! Your bookshelves are such goals tbh, the colours, the organisation, the accessories… everything about them is just soooo amazing 😭❤️
The video we have all been waiting for! Yesssss. Also thank you for updating your favourites, reading your favourites is in progress and I am glad I am still *current* with the favs.
1st: Green to blue shelf has some of my favorite books 2nd: I'd love to see you roasting Shadow & Bone 😈 3rd: Graphic novel video? Please and thank you.
I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE SOMEONE WHO LOVES PENDRAGON AS MUCH AS ME. I read the first few in school and fell in love, but I never got to finish it. I want to buy them for my shelves and finish the series someday.
I think I have like the exact same taste as you everytime you say something is 5 stars I immediately at it to my tbr and so far this strategy has not failed me I've loved every one, I'm about to start Lonely Castle and I'm really excited
I’m dying to know what you think of Bunny since I read it and still don’t know what I feel 😅🤣 you and I have similar reading taste so I’m curious what you think of it!
Heyyyyyyyyyy I read a book recently and thought of you (maybe because it has a similar title to a book you've featured a lot before but I still think you'd vibe with it) it's "Nothing To See" by Pip Adam, its about addiction, recovery, self-love and friendships but told in a gd unique way, it' beautiful. Anyways love you :)
I like Convenience Store Woman also, though I felt it was missing something. However, I dislike deckled edges so much that I found a machine to help me *cut them off* of every book I have with them. I am also a Dodie fan, I like that you have a similar vibe =)
I'm a graphic novel/manga person! I'd love a graphic novel video, my most recent pick up besides Heartstopper is The Tea Dragon Society! I hope I love it
Beautiful Shelves and goals! I have the Six of Crows Collector edition as well! I agree with your opinion on the grishaverse books. Love your Howie tattoo! I have a favorite books shelf and our tastes in books are slightly similar hahaha The Inheritance Games and some other books on your TBR shelves are my favorites. I'm excited to hear what you think about them. I'm saving this video for information and research for my next book to read hahaha
I might be to late for this. But 1st, read Red white and royal blue especially Especially because of everything online with the movie coming out. Then read one last stop, and lastly end with I kissed Sarah wheeler. Red white and royal blue is my favorite book and I will never not Advocate for it!
You have to get Broken Girls by Simone St. James. Actually all of her books are great and creepy. I did see Reckless Girls on your TBR shelf. It’s a good one. Black Cake is great as well but does take its time coming together but when it does…BAM!
I finally read One Last Stop and I cannot recommend it enough! It was so warm and full of life. It felt like a hug wrapped up in a mystery. Also it's hilarious. I can't say if it will give you the same feels as Heartstopper but it is a boost of dopamine
I’ve owned a copy of braiding sweetgrass for about a year and still haven’t gotten around to reading it!!! But seeing it on your favorites shelf I might have to…. Also as someone who felt the same as you about the Six of Crows duology…. Shadow and Bone isn’t worth it. I read the first book and didn’t want to read the rest of the series. It was too YA for me… lol
Found you recently and been having a binge fest. Your dnd books were always a mystery to me! Does she play? Does she just read them? It'd be so cool to see that in a video or vlog. But of course, that's yo life. Thanks for sharing the rest of your life with us already
I also really loved the six of crows duology and had a hard time with ninth house but I thought shadow and bone was a fun YA series, I think when people say it's not as good as six of crows people take that to mean its bad which I don't think is fair. It's definitely not anything mindblowing but I think it's a good introductory series to the world and I read it in like 3 days which is pretty fast for me so uh yeah
I also found circe pretty boring and the only reason I finished it was because it was for my book club but song of achilles is one of my favourite books so I definitely recommend trying it out!!
I have hyperfocus and honestly the rainbow bookshelves are the only ones that don’t make me feel like my room is messy Visual stimulation is a big no-no for me, so I really enjoy them organized like that, I just didn’t know they were millennial thing 😂 I actually disagree, because most of my bookish friends that are millennials don’t organize them by rainbow, and most of my gen z friends do
You need to read Crawdads and add it to your favorites shelf where it belongs 😅 JK, but seriously it's one of my favorites. It has beautiful imagery and holds such reverence to nature. Plus it's a coming of age with a murder mystery moving the story line. The twist is 🤌🏼 LOVE IT 🤍
I also own Dune … and I also have not read it 💀💀 I officially let myself off the hook like last year and have given myself permission to unhaul it without actually reading it.
Your videos are the shot of serotonin I need to combat the Sunday scaries 💗
this is such a compliment :')
girl you have the most beautifully organized books. my impatient adhd brain wishes it could do this without getting overstimulated and crying lol
ALSO- I can’t wait to get my cowboy cats sweatshirt!!! 🤠

There’s something about your intro music that makes me smile every time!
