My legs are so fucking long
this is acc outrageous how much this made me laugh
Some might say it’s brutal how long your legs are, or in present tense the Brutality of long legs🗿
they maybe long but can they support you long enough to read about the industrial revolution and its consequences?
Looks like i have put on my long legs today
Say that again?
One thing people don't seem to realize is that Lee did in fact have 3 shots left, but they all misfired. She literally wasn't allowed to shoot the doll.
That's what bothered me, why didn't she shoot the doll before the captain started his rampage. But makes sense now thank you!
She could have physically broken it like they did the previous doll..seeing this in theaters was a fun movie but was plagued by horror movie character syndrome
Thank god im not the only one who noticed
@@Trayvis34 The director confirms that once Lees' doll is destroyed, she is freed from the deal her mother made with the devil. However, with Longlegs and the mother both dead, it is implied that the new doll and a little girl will now be subject to the devil's influence. Lee cannot destroy this new doll without disrupting the devil's plan, and thus, after attempting to shoot it the devil influences her to leave it intact.
@@Trayvis34because satan.
Nic cage had said in interviews that his character in longlegs is a former glam rock star who has had extensive bad plastic surgery, not birth defects.
And the director explained his white face makeup is inspired by Bob Dylan’s role in Renaldo & Clara.
I wish they would have explained it in the movie
ohh that poster of the man wearing a hat above his bed was him
@@Sheed96 no, the poster above his bed was of T.Rex. Longlegs, per the director’s words, was a glam guy who then had his life “disrupted” in the 70s and went to work for the Devil. However that happened is part of the mystery. But safe to assume that T.Rex must have been a hero of LL, hence the song quote to kick off the movie and a song during end credits.
@@karlahdz04 oh ok no idea who that is but cool
You know, Longlegs is one of those films where killing off the main villain before the end works really well
the main villain wasnt longlegs. So you clearly did not watch the movie
@@Slushcams the devil was the villian
@mr.rungus2516 I did watch it otherwise I wouldn't watch this video
@@Slushcams she wasn't his wife
lets keep going, the film director is the villain.
I can't believe nic cage actually bludgeoned himself to death for this role
😂
Well, the guy drank himself to death years ago in Las Vegas, so reincarnation has kinda become old hat for the guy. Talk about dedication!
I wish

I never noticed the devil appearing throughout the movie when I first saw it so after the second time Big Will pointed him out I got shivers realizing how I didn’t see him at all
Same I legit saw this in theaters and didn’t even notice it on that big ass screen
The Devil’s greatest accomplishment is being everywhere and nobody notices or believe that he’s even real. Christians say God is always watching but fail to mention that so is He…
Same. I mean I didn't notice much cause I always cover my eyes with something when watching horror films
nice pic
@@jacobk9322 thats just not true, the devil doesnt exist in christianity, go read the damn old testament if you think you know anything about christianity
‘45 year old goth that was splashed with puddle water’
That got me good.
It was quick for sure
Puddle Splashers - Cap’n Jazz
The part that gets to me is the mom did all the horrible stuff. But in the end it meant nothing. The Devil was just playing a game to see if he could corrupt people and make them do horrible things. He used the love and care of the mother to see how far his sick game can get. And it went the furthest making the daughter shoot her mother in the end of the film. And it turns out with the doll and the gun, that the devil was always in control and nothing could stop him. The devil was just having fun messing with these church people for 20+ years. And he'll just keep doing it as long as he wants.
So did the cycle end or will it still be going on?
@@andreasedich2418 I think the ending is ambiguous. I think the implication is that Lee Harker won't replace Longlegs, but who knows.
Hail Satan!

No lie, this movie actually freaked my sister out. And she rarely gets freaked out by horror

I would like to learn couple more horror movies that freaked your sister out, Im about to run out of horror movies to watch
Oz not only played the character of young Norman Bates, but he is the real life son of Anthiny Perkins (the actor who is Norman Bates)
😮
Seems like he hates his dad tbh
@@banquetoftheleviathan1404he had a very complicated relationship with his parents and has been open about how his movies, at the bottom, are all working through those familial issues. His mother hid his father’s homosexuality/bisexuality from him and his brother for a long time , and his father died of Aids when Oz was 18. Also, his mother died on one of the tragic 9/11 flights. So he is working through a lot and his films showcase it.
Nicolas Cage is the nephew of Francis Ford Coppola and Talia Shire.
Me and my gf saw this in theaters last month. What a messed up, confusing, and disturbing movie. We loved it :) glad it's getting some coverage
Hated the bad reception some people got it just because there wasn’t a jumpscare every 10 mins and it wasn’t a run of the mill possessed house
@@alanofarrell7658not even worth going to the theater for longlegs since alien came out. The movie lost itself right in the middle, I couldnt get creeped out since the movie made absolutely no effort of making the scenery and camera work prepare for the very few intense moments, everything just looked so casual it hurt....

@@alanofarrell7658 That wasn't the reason lol, the movie was just genuinely not that good.
i feel like this is a movie you really want to watch in theaters when it comes out. the first time i went to go see it i left the theatre feeling uneasy and it genuinely freaked me out for a couple of days 😭 it's a good second watch, but nothing compares to seeing it for the first time with the movie theater experience
agreed man, a lot of movies have this effect on me when I've seen it in theaters first.
I wasn’t able to watch it in theatres but I still had a pretty great time watching it at home. It was late at night, blinds drawn closed with all the lights off. Definitely an eerie experience.
I also feel like a second watch helps to piece together the small clues that are sprinkled about throughout the movie and makes it feel much more concise and intricate now that you know what’s going on behind the curtain.
I felt the exact same way! I have never felt like that before after watching a movie, but this one was on a whole different level.
I watched it at home and it had the same effect on me. The whole movie just has a creepy vibe that makes you feel uneasy throughout. I loved it
I kind of wish they didn’t show Nic Cage as much as they did, once constantly seeing his face it lost any of its unease
I think it could've worked if we never seen his face except for that little part in the opening scene. Like have the rest of his scenes only show below his mouth.
@@rayvonvelez3129that would’ve been way more creepy

I made a subconscious connection to Micheal Jackson and then couldn't break it... so there was that
I don’t think Longlegs is ever meant to be the one true big bad guy, the real villain was always the Devil working in the background. Oz has even said that the intent is for the audience to think Longlegs is some lame pathetic dude and not some grand villain, I think the amount he’s shown helps demystify him in that way.
Also every scene he’s in is just really fun so I look for any excuse to justify them being in the movie.
"modern Silence of the Lambs" Okay critics, let's not get too carried away
That “why they hit you as a child” line hit hard.
my grandma was a non believer in basically anything paranormal with the exception of god, but she said watching this movie was like feeling someone else was watching with you that isn't supposed to be there which freaked the whole family out, for the rest of the movie we were silent.
Ok calm down dude

The most brutal thing about Longlegs was how fucking overhyped it was.
actually though. MAMMYYYY DADDDTTTTYYY
Yep. Very underwhelming film. Weak story and bad acting. Monroe was like a surly teenager and Cage was laughable. Never felt lost in the characters. Just a very mediocre film at best
This is the truth.
Finally!! Let's stop pretending here. This movie was absolute trash. If it didn't have the marketing it would be an easy 2/10 or lower to everybody
I love how FBI agents who suspect a perpetrator is in their home, don't turn on any lights.. Just to add to the suspense that someone might be lurking in a shadow in their home!
It’s smarter not to, you know you’re home better then an intruder.
Except when it’s the devil ig…
His legs weren't even that long. 0/10.
Mid legs = mid movie
this video is better than the movie
lmao fr, op is giving the movie too much credit and making it seem deeper than what it is.
10:30 that one hit a little too close to home.

Hahaha
"hit"
I see what you did there
The ending destroyed the whole movie for me, it just felt rushed for time. The shots and audio is amazing tho 🔥
How did the ending feel rushed the whole movie was leading to the movie you can literaly see the devil in some scenes it just seems like you didnt understand it
Definitely agree bro
@jamesconlin5099 I do agreed but at the end of the movie, they just end it and we never got any info because it's the devil, it just felt like a rug got moved under me
The movie made already 20x what it did cost, so you can be sure that we will get a part 2
@@jamesconlin5099It was a lazy cop out because they couldn't think of anything creative.
>"The Brutality of LONGLEGS"
>A summary of the movie with no analysis or anything.
ok dud.
Because there was zero brutality to this movie
What was it with her semi-psychic powers? They made such a big fuss of introducing them during the beginning but they NEVER became relevant to the story at all. As if they forgot about that plot point halfway through.
I knooooowwwwww...her semi psychic powers was an awesome plot point that they didn't go through with
I assumed that her psychic powers came from her having a demonic doll on her own, almost like “the man downstairs” was giving her those feelings. Because she has them until her doll is destroyed. When the doll is destroyed, we see black mist coming out of
Lee’s head, to me that feels like the devil leaving her mind, ending his influence. That was conclusion I came to
Are you stupid they played a part through out the movie
I think it’s meant to be implied that they came from the deal that Lee’s mother made with the devil which would’ve left her after her doll was destroyed and the devil left her body. Definitely is somewhat strange that they didn’t lean more into her supernatural powers though, especially when supernatural stuff is meant to be the main plot point of the movie.
@@Shuffles_ArtI think it wasn’t necessarily actually psychic abilities. I feel like it was set up to get her assigned to the case. Like she said, she missed just as many numbers as she got right. 🤷 I feel much of it was planted in her head because she was always being guided towards the answer for a reason. Why the film ended the way it did, I can’t figure out tho
"The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he doesnt exist." - Charles Baudelaire
"my favorite personality trait in women aside" a man after my own heart, and weird women 😂❤
This movie was incredible, not sure why people don’t like it
just feels like a different kind of Annabelle with twists. Wasn't scary to me to be honest, not a lot of off putting jump scares, had good effects, a few suspenseful moments but, I wouldn't watch it again.
Lazy writing
Nic cage wasn't scary he was laughable in this I was like wtf the singing was just like wtf.
@@Sky_Blaze I personally think he was great in this movie but I guess it’s really just up to opinion
@@Sky_Blaze That was the point. Longlegs isn't supposed to be "scary," he's supposed to be "creepy." How anybody could think he's meant to be scary after the hardware store scene is beyond me.
"much like how when you ask your parents why they beat you as a child, they have no recollection of it..." im laughing at how true this is.
I still have kinda mixed feelings about the ending. I agree with the ppl who didn't like the exposition dump monologue and there were definitely some inconsistences with the rules for how the black magic worked and stuff, but the first hour or so of the movie, with the opening scene and the scenes where we get to know Lee's character, and the police procedural investigation vibes and everything, all of that stuff was so indescribably awesome to me that I barely even think about the ending tbh.
Lee Harker is probably my new favorite final girl. The idea of a socially awkward FBI agent is just chef's kiss. I laughed at her awkwardness so many times when I wasn't even supposed to, and that's not a negative critique. I just thought she was funny. I kept on imagining her inner monologue and what she was thinking in different moments when she was being awkward. I really related to her awkward character.
Honestly (and this is obviously never gonna happen), I wish we could get a series of movies with Maika Monroe as Lee Harker solving supernatural mysteries with police procedural vibes. Heck, give her a new partner who is just as awkward as she is. Make it a buddy cop movie on top of that. Or make it so that Lee unjammed her gun and shot the doll, and Carter and his wife both survived their injuries, and everything's fine, so Lee and Carter can keep working together, because their dynamic was awesome too.
Sorry for rant
Disappointment on the year for me but your review made it so much better
Yup… shot well, but the story was shit and poorly made
@codydoodles2 finally 2 people who actually understand that this movie was crap. It started off pretty good, then as it goes, the story get close and filled inconsistencies.
as a younger white man in oregon, looking for a middle aged white man in oregon is like looking for a middle aged man in oregon.
Brutality? This movie sucked. It was so boring and slow. Nothing happens the whole time literally the entire movie. Nothing happens. You must be delusional. This movie absolutely sucked.
Ran across your channel by accident, but I'm now a fan. Your videos are great! The perfect combination of humor and informative. Keep up the great work!
this movie was trash just like every other horror film and if you found this "hard to stomach" your are weak and not intended for the future
I genuinely thought this film was awful
I've watched it twice now because everyone loves it and I thought maybe I was too drunk to appreciate it the first time.. but I agree

Awwww 😟🥺There she isss 😲😍The almost birthday girlll 🥳😁😀
ppl don't even know what that statement actually means....
i am fully convinced i watched a different movie than everyone else this was one of the worst movies i have seen all year
BEFORE YOU WATCH THIS VIDEO, JUST WATCH THE MOVIE! The movie is soooo good and all this channel does is spoil everything with a very dumbed down story synopsis. All his jokes are the most low hanging fruit possible
I didnt know Madonna was in this!
I hated this movie so badly, lee was the one who held my attention but DAMN horrible/annoying/comedic part for cage. And I
quickly became bored after religious elements were explained…saw a different comment say sex doll serial killer would’ve been scarier, they’re right!
Its 4:38am and i cant sleep 😅 seems like a great idea to watch this
Is that NZ or Alaska 😂

May I ask why you guys love this film so much? There’s nothing special about it in my opinion other than the cinematography. Reminding me of a diluted version of silence of the lambs
it feels illegal to be this early
For real.
Clearly it was not about spiders when I saw it.
This movie was hyped way too much. Even being compared to the silence of the lambs. It’s mediocre and the ending is just… well meh
Your IQ is deffo 78
the reveal of the personal sacrifice the mom made was ALMOST interesting but the movie was overall too boring
Why waste time and money on going to the theatre when you can just watch Big Will do it in 20 minutes
1:17 she somehow knows the house?? If that ain't the spookiest, most ominous , looking house of ever! With it's triangle shapes and circles in the architecture flanked by the creepy bare trees its most DEFINITELY the first house she's gonna pick!
I thought you were joking about Nicholas Cage lol. But after the bit kept going, I looked it up and was shocked that it was actually him in the role.
let me in now and it can be nice ,make me go now and ii'll have to come back ,not once not twice but as many times as i likeeeeeeeeeee
One of the disadvantages of watching Big Will is that when you watch or rewatch any of these movies, all the jokes in the videos get back into your head to the point you giggle at scenes your companions are concerned or scared of and think you’re just a maniac.
Great movie. Don’t get why anyone wouldn’t like it.
you have the BEST commentary ever. im so drawn to your videos cause i love horror films and hearing your breakdown WHILE laughing from your jokes is just the best. love you big will!!
the explanation of the character’s actions by the narrator gives the same vibe as a multiple choice quiz where all the wrong answers have been chosen
The movie was terrible and I usually give movies like this the benefit of the doubt and try my best to understand why the movie took a bad turn but this was like forcing puzzle pieces that don't fit together. I was genuinely upset about this movie because it could've been a blockbuster.
“She unfortunately didn’t drink enough Red Bull” made me spit thanks 😂
What the hell is this video? Its just a cliffnotes version of the movie. You're just explaining the plot.
Idk. It just didn’t do it for me. I actually got bored
Glad to see one got rid of the strange filter that was used in the last two videos. I enjoy!
anyone notice the symbology in 5:33 ? looks like heaven and hell and she looks like she is closer to hell when she is talking to her mom... i feel like there were other instances of symbology like this as well
Weird. I didn’t notice that
It’s just 17 minutes of him dissing nic cage
"On account of being anti-roomate" literally got me dying
The plot is too predictable, and it’s easy to notice the discomfort the set design aims to evoke. And what are those sacrifices for? 4/10
Cage's character was so good. The first half of the movie was great, it kinda fell off for me after he died, shocking scene but void after.
Creepy reality>paranormal every day
They shouldn't have done the black mist thing with the dolls. Have her mother shoot the doll and it's just a doll. Then, at the end, have Lee show up to her boss' house to find everybody dead except her mother who keeps saying "he made me do it." Leave in the spectral figures in the background as a little "is it really the devil making people do this?" but never explicitly say it. Give everybody the tease of the paranormal without actually confirming it.
I love Nic Cage as much as the next guy but unfortunately he went a bit too far in this one. Hammed it up to 135 and came off too comical to be scary. And all I could think the whole time was: That's Nic Cage, bru! And even though they didn't show much of him, it still felt like it was too much.
Movie had amazing aesthetics and good tension and was pretty well directed overall.
Bro def was not supposed to be scary, it’s much more unsettling strange hence why some people laugh when his characters on screen and others are unsettled
