- In this video I show you how to reduce lag on the LG G3 and optimise it for a more fluid experience we do not require root for this but by just make some simple changes by invoking the developer mode and moving from DALVIK to ART runtime we can do this.

u know u dont have to change the runtime just change the animation scale directly to 0.5x! there is an immediate difference in the performance! plus the lag is not due to the 2k screen, its dude to the Lg's UI which hasnt been optimised properly hence the Lg! we might see it go away in further future updates!

Thanks. I did this on my first G3 and the Art one worked.
On the one I bought for my girlfriend, I upgraded to android 5 first, and the Art setting does not even appear.
Android 5.0 is completely art. Dalvik removed.
After I did this my LG G3 started hearing up ALOT to the point where it almost burned 🔥🔥🔥
This method works for reducing lag and it really did speed up my G3 but at the cost of my CPU being overworked.
When lollipop roll out into my country i notice that i didnt had any typical lollipop animation and i didnt know why...thx to you i found the animation in the developer settings and i really like my lg g3 now thx again! :)

XD!! I m15 yrs old. M a boy i have lg g3 gold colour. Mine is a international version not verizon. Sir thanks for the tips i followed everything u showed except i went back from art to dalwick because my apps nd screen lagged and stuttered a lot. Now i changed the scales to .5x. Works well most of my apps r compatible as well as smoothness. No lag and everything works instant. Thanks.

Note al i did was as u said enalbed developer options and reduced the transition, animation, window scales to .5x dont ever go to art. Stay in dalwick nd do. Works well

thx for a nice tip, I bought LG G3 today after finding out about finding about the bump workaround for the locked bootloader, already rooted it and did some tweaks
on a new device with less then 10 installed apps it took less then 5 mins to convert the apps and the difference is quite big, probably the improved experience is more due to the faster animations since I first changed to ART and it was faster but still not fast until I changed the animation speeds as well
one thing to note the phone got very very hot over 80 degrees on the cpu during the app conversion so on a phone with lots of apps I would not recommend turning off the temp throttling as I did, woudln't want to see the temps after 30mins
might enable it again if the phone will be getting that hot during heavy load
Use LG G3 3GB variant. ART: Improved performance in speed. But ART runtime made the phone hang plenty a times. Used with ART for almost 15 days & encountered 20 times where the phone just hangs & I had to remove the battery & back for bringing it back to life. Now Back to DALVIK. Your comments now...

I have done a stupid mistake and now it wont stop restarting.
I have connected it to my laptop with the usb cable and pressed the Upgrade button on its software (LG PC Suite).
It did a few installs and now it's stuck on continuous restart. I did try all kinds of combinations with pressing the back buttons but it doesn't show anything else but continuous restart.
Please Help if anyone knows anything about this issue.

There is no "runtime" button in my settings under developer options. :/
For anyone who has had heating problems with their g3, I have a solution that can possibly work. If you have your data turned on along with your working signal, the phone is constantly working to get a better signal or trying to retain it, causing it to heat up from time to time and ultimately slowing down the performance of the device until it cools. I have come to notice that when I disable my data whenever I am not using it, my battery life is significantly longer and my device does not overheat. Hope this helps anyone
ART + animation tweaks works nice and G3 is notably faster. I use Nova lancer and G3 is even more faster with it..

I updated my sprint g3 recently and my Wifi doesn't work. It connects buy it says 'connection unavailable'. I tried factory reset. Wifi was my only connection

my phone is the LG G3 Beat and i am from India. My developer options tab doesn't have the art mode in it. and my phone still lags after your tips. it has become a bit faster but it still lags.
Hello ranjit. How do i enable all apps to be used for the dual window ? Do I have to root my device. Instagram and whatsapp cannot be used on the dual window.
my g3 runs perfect till i open any game.......then the laggy interface starts i dont what it is but openning one of my games makes it lag does anyone has a cure for this new disease

I purchased a htc desire 816 on 3rd sept and when i use a little of internet or camera to capture pictures it heats up a little bit , so is this any issue or its just a software problem as wen i use radio or music it doesnt heat up no matter how much i use it .I usually heats up around the camera portion and temperature is 36 degree celcius. Please suggest me something as because of this problem i have already changed my phone once by getting a DO from the company and they issued me a new handset . Please reply '

I tried this, but looks like my cell was not in the mood and (not exagereting) for over a week it has been doing the app upgrate.. I want to hope for the best and try to wait more for it to finish but it hasn't. It started with 94 (aprox.) that it started with and now it only says 1 out of 3 apps, and it will go over the 3 apps over and over again. My cell is 32 gbs (no external memory) and it's like 2 years old.
Suggestions before I have to reset it?

this phone was good for the first 2 months that i had it then it started lagging and getting seriously glitchy. sucks cause the hardware is awesome on the phone, but i am not going back to LG after this again. switching back so galaxy, never had any problems with my samsungs.

I've tried every single suggested solution and non of them worked.......i've updated my phone to android 5.0 lollipop wich running by default on ART runtime and the lag didn't stop........the only thing causes the lag in my phone is Mcaffe antivisrus real-time protection.....so i uninstalled it and uninstalled all the bloatware from LG.....and my phone now is flawless like my nexus 4.
Btw...my phone is international version 16GB

It's true I have the verizon version of the lg g3 and it makes it even way laggoer,and apps crash more often.

From dalvik to art...
I used this phone for about 3 weeks and returned it for a note 4. To be honest the lg 3 sucks everyone, it overheats, it has aux problems, it lags just not the worth your hard earned money.
Definetively you don't know that this amazing device can do. For all who wants the best experience in their LG G3 devices, i should recommend to install Cyanogenmod 12. Is for sure the best ROM out there.

Yeah i liked the lg g3 too a lot specially cause i got for 0 dollars on an upgrade. But it like turned off randomly by itself.i know the rom can be changed but out of the box experience of this device was poor for me

We followed the instructions given to speed up our phone. Now, from yesterday onwards it is showing the message "Updating Android App 1/1". Tried to switch off the phone and restart but the problem is still persisting. Even, tried by removing the battery, but the phone is still showing the same message "Updating Android App 1/1".
Could you please help in restoring the previous settings, as we are not able to use our phone now.

Go back to Dalvik. I wouldn't switch to Art unless you know what you are doing. But everything else in this video is good to do

The LG G3 is extremely good. It it an all round good phone, and I would recommend it because of its 1440p display, its size, and so on. The other competitor is the HTC one m8. It is good if you want front-facing speakers and a good camera. It is also slightly faster than the LG G3. The other one to buy is the s5 but i personally don't like it because of the gimmicks such as the fingerprint scanner. If you need them however, i suggest you get it. Overall, I would buy the LG G3. The other options are the OneplusOne, Sony Xperia z3, and the Moto x.
