That is awesome! I can also honestly say I have never seen anyone fry a fish on a bed before. Now I can say it. lol. Some of the best fish I had was sand trout I caught in Corpus Christi, Tx. Great fish fry.
Def stockers the way they stay in that pool. Holdovers get wise over time. Plus the colors on them you can tell super stocked
First time here! I loved every second of your content! Great job with the fly rod as well! Just a lil tip when you cook your trout, put a few slices into each side it will prevent the fish from folding when it hits the heat and you will get your seasoning into the meat! Cheers!

Hard to beat mountain trout!! It’s amazing what they eat. We see them full of ants, sometimes leaches, sometimes snails, sometimes caddis larvae…they seem to hone in on whatever is prevalent at them time!

You know you cook in the back of your truck often !! Maybe consider getting a vent roof on the top do you can get better ventilation from your gas burner !

I got to go rainbow trout fishing last year for the first time. In the u.p. of Michigan on a small lake in the woods. Had a blast until the loon tried to sell are catch. An if you like lemon pepper and butter. You should try it baked sometime

Trout magnets with a weighted bobber is so much easier. You can get them at DSG for $2.50. Maybe at small tackle stores. And you can still use your spinning combo.

I lived right next to the Platte River in Denver for almost a decade and caught two trout so your not doing too bad. I mostly sight fished for carp in that river and threw out liver for catfish though.
If I use a spinning reel for fly fishing I use a clear bobber and a fly for topwater bluegills.
Congrats on catching a trout. Those trout see a zillion baits so catching one is probably pretty hard.
I once gave a stocker trout to a guy living out of his truck. He cut the head almost off and then bent the head back and peeled the head and all the skin off in one piece after he gutted the fish i have never seen that before.

Been catching trout on spinners for literally 60 years. I hate Panther Martins. Mepps too. Rooster Tails rock. If I could only take 5 lures into the mountains to catch trout they would all be Rooster Tails. And at least 4 of them would be white. And I'd probably end up cutting the feathers off every one of them. Love your videos. I'm a big fan.
