For now I think the modified Octan Tower Hospital looks pretty good, you should focus on the other towers in my opinion. Going back to the future layout of the city, an Instagram poll showing the two rough ideas would be useful.
Appreciate the feedback! The idea of a poll on instagram / RUclips is a really good idea, we may try and do a mock up of the layout and post the two options... thanks for the idea, need to think about it, but that could definitely be a good way to see what people want
My sister loves legos, especially the duplo legos. We have over 5,000 pieces (that’s a lot for the big legos) and we often build city’s that are pretty big. One of them had a 40 building downtown and a bunch of small buildings at the outskirts of the city.
You should consider more weird angles and less square in the layout of the city . I find that it usually makes the city feel more natural and makes it a more appealing display piece.
Adding some diagonal streets and more curved / angled buildings is definitely a plan for a future city! We're a little limited on what we can do in this room, so hopefully the office space will allow for more angles
I think that the circle shape would look a lot better in my opinion. You guys never cease to amaze me with every video you make. I also think that making a hospital from the ground up would be more original and would allow for more of a hospital type look.
I think the U shape or circle around the city would look good. Also, I am currently making a modular (1.5 baseplate) hotel for my city. I just finished the second floor!
As if you couldn’t get enough skyscrapers in your city. Your talent never ceases to amaze me. Most people wouldn’t want to commit $300 + towards any MOC
hospitals are generally more flat and sprawling rather tall skyscrapers so transport patients is easier so I would use the building as a Octan tower and design your own hospital
I think the best layout would be pushing the city to the wall, this is how you can make the best of the available space. It is no matter how big is you next room, it will be too small for the lego city evenutally. Your city is absolutely the best on the youtube, it is well designed and realisitc looking. You are amazingly creative.
I wish lego would make more buildings, somewhere in detail between city and modulars. They could only make it 2 or 3 floors, if you want to go higher buy multiples. You could switch up the architecture but still have plenty of matching bricks
Awesome city update man👍! Those new skyscrapers are amazing! Your skyline is incredible! Your city is definitely one of my favorites! I always look forward to new city updates! I'm planning on building a condo in my city in the future, so I'll get some inspiration from this!
I think the hospital should be built up ground up. And I also think the up against the wall rectangle would be best. It maximizes the available space. You could make a U shape to cover three walls and have a walk way in the middle.
And as far as for a new layout u can always incorporate the perimeter style layout and the center of a room type layout together. Do ur perimeter style layout and add in peninsulas wherever you can add in a few or one big one in the middle possibilities are endless but as far as this city looks awesome
I have an open rectangle where you can access both the inside and outside of the tables. Seems to work best for viewing and also for access. Downside is that you have to do your tall buildings (love yours, by the way...) more to the center so you can see around them, but my grandkids seem to enjoy going around the city from all sides to check out everything that is going on...
I think the u shape is the best option for a city cuz you can expend it way more. also love your videos thx to you i have now a great city with all off your ideas. 😄👍🏻✊🏻
You’re genuine reasoning behind the RUclips algorithms to grow your channel just earned a new subscriber! Top notch stuff here and looking forward to more!!
Great video, the city looks awesome! Personally for me, I love dark colors. They make me feel comfortable. For example, black and brown. I think you should make a dark color like black or brown themed condo. I live on a coastal city and I see a lot of them. There is a lot of light colors like white or blue and light gray in the city which looks great! But I think a darker colored condo would look great!
Funny you say that, we actually just added a brown skyscraper to our website we were considering adding to our city as well haha. But good idea! I do think adding darker colors in the back would make the foreground buildings really standout!
My vote for the hospital would be a new design just because I'd like to see what you guys come up with. As for the layout, I think a U shape would probably be the most convenient for building and filming.
I know y’all have a lot on your plate but ever thought of bringing a fire station to the city? Also I recommend a new modern style hospital. As for the layout I say a horse shoe with a peninsula down the middle of the space allows. Love all the content your channel produces. Super excited for the suburbs down the road.
It's been on our list for a while, and we've played around with a few designs.... nothing we've made yet we feel was worthy of being released/ added to the city, so we're going to keep trying. We may wait until we have more space so we can plan a proper station!
That skyline is looking so good! If square footage is the biggest limitation, I’d say stick to a U-shape layout. Less area is needed for you to access all parts of the city this way, but…. If you find a big enough space, go for the city layout that you can walk around. It gives far more opportunity for additional camera angles, being able to equally detail all sides of a building and appreciate that detail, and it makes it easier to open up your art to public viewing should you choose that route in the future.
the city’s looking great with the new towers! l think the hospital looks great but it would also be exciting to see you build a new one. as for layout l think a U shape would feel more immersive because you have the city on multiple sides when you walk into the room, and also be more practical for filming, and l feel you could make it larger that way.
I started out with a peninsula type arrangement mainly because I have several trains and wanted to be able to access them easily, as trains inevitably come of the tracks. The only problem with that type of layout is, you loose footprint area. What I came up with for my room is a compromise……I left a small space (about 20”) down one long wall for access and then put it tight to the other long wall. Then I put a couple of smaller tables out front and made a “standing hole” so that I could still get access. I put bridges across the standing hole area so that the trains could circumvent the entire layout. It’s not the best, but it works in my situation.
Oh interesting, something to consider for sure! You are absolutely right that you loose area if you do a peninsula, not to mention the access is tough. Decisions decisions haha
@@AFOLTV ……it will totally depend on the room you eventually have to work with, but for me, my idea seems to have made the most sense. I would send you a couple of pictures, but I don’t think this platform can do pictures?
My suggestion is to maybe get rid of the beach area. Could keep the water as something small that would be with small water craft, fishing etc. Your gain more area for rectangle things.
For me, I don’t care what layout you use if you get a new room. Either option would look amazing in my opinion. I think the most important part is what will work for you when trying to get to the hard to reach areas. Good luck on 100k subscribers, I’ll be here with you every step of the way.
Appreciate it! And sounds good, we're just trying to make sure we get the layout right the first time, we all know how hard it is to move everything haha
Looking good! If you guys go with the city in the middle, make sure you have an area where you can move to get into the center. Crawling under the city with large builds is a pain in the ass.
I would love to see a hospital built from the ground up. I think it would also be able to make it compatible to put a helipad on it and maybe even make it compatible with the monorail? I think that would be pretty cool and unique! And in terms of building the city with the space that is available, I would probably just say do whatever works best for you and/ or set up the layout to use as much space as possible! love the videos and keep up the great work! Roadto100k!
Thanks, and love the ideas! So much to think about, and need to factor in these changes now and how they will apply to the new city, if we move... thanks for the feedback!
Great video! for the city layout the island is the best in my eyes. I have an island layout for my city where I can walk all the way around it. this also allows different and unique camera angle and new perspectives to your city.
Great, I agree, its time to get out into the RUclips world. I'm in, and I love the new up grades as always. By the way I thought that a hospital would be great, but I think its better to build up and that way you can add like a hole loading dock and a helipad to be more realistic because its such a big city.
Omg I love the airport it reminds me of the battle scene from Civil War!! I really hope that lego does a master builders series airport battle in the future, but takes some notes from you. Your tarmac build is 👌🔥

In your future layout you should do a U shape layout, therefore you can have different areas/biodomes that won't clash with each other.
