After the Persian Invasion and invasion of Alexander the Great, the Greeks were then able to receive education from the Egyptians. The royal temples and libraries were plundered by Alexander the Great and Aristotle's school converted the library at Alexandria into a research center.

However, the reasoning behind Black students starting their own Greek organizations, was not because they wanted to adopt Greek culture. In fact, the letters are the only piece of Greek culture that is used amongst Black fraternities and sororities. The first Fraternities and Sororities date all the way back to the 18th century, made with the intention of forming groups for philosophical debate, like the Greeks once did (hence, Greek life). Then the organizations started to grow and its members were benefitting more and more, but of course, people of color were excluded. But why should Black people not be able to have the same benefits, such as a vast network, academic scholarships, and a plethora of job opportunities? So, Black people made their own Greek-letter organizations so that they too could have opportunities for advancement. Now, why they decided use Greek letters is beyond us, but "Black Greeks" do practice and perform many things that come from deep within Black and African culture (i.e. Singing Spirituals, stepping). And the opportunities that Black Greek organizations have provided for Black students in higher education, as well as the impact that they have had within the Black community, are why they are a huge part of Black culture.

C. well there is a small problem... philosophy went so high in Greece because Greek language has tens of millions of words that can make some philosophical term specific.. without greek language philosophy can never go as deep to look straight to the human soul if there is any. In the United States of America many colleges National, Public, Private and Minority colleges have sororities and fraternities (that are social, community, and educational based) uses Greek letters as part of their names. Greek-letter fraternity and sororities has represented student bodies made up of different cultures, races, social and economic . These Sisterhood and Brotherhood has been around around since you and I were born highly doubt it's going anywhere.
