I love this song so much. Band-Maid is primarily a live band. But dont let that stop you from watching their regular music videos. Many of them are as good as anything. Thanks for reacting to it.

Band Maid doesn't play a genre, Band Maid IS a genre. Pop, punk, rock, metal, prog, thrash. They roll all of this into their songs and blend it beautifully.
Great reaction and this is one of my top 10 songs, it's just perfectly composed. Apparently Kanami created a demo then sent that to all the members and asked them to create they own parts and this is the result. Thanks for reviewing Band-Maid. Blooming was also included in the Netflix film "Kate" as music playing during a car chase near the beginning of the movie and then later in a night club scene where they played live in the bar, "Choose Me".

When you were talking about the focus on the instruments not ahowing their faces, then you get the closeups of Milu and Saiki's faces. Their voices are their instruments so they are being shown. The whole visual esthetic is to say "We aren't just pretty faces here". Pay attention to everyone.
Kanami goes full guitar hero on this one. This is a Fn ripping solo. The Maids crush....they are the best.

The best Live version of this I think is from line cube Shibuya 2020 the trifecta of RINNE, BLOOMING and SCREAMING. Still my favourite show openers.
You made the right choice with the music video for “Blooming.” It’s one of several songs that are best served this way.
You’re also correct that the sound is quite different from what you’ve heard from them before. This is from their “Conqueror” album which has these tonal qualities.
The cousin of “Blooming” is a song called “Bubble”. Same tones in a more riff driven progressive style. Maybe keep it in mind for future?
I’m always suggesting songs that show how incredibly diverse the Maids are as songwriters. Please look these Band Maid songs over and see which one seems more interesting to you:
“Onset,” official live. Progressive rock instrumental
“Puzzle,” official live. Cinematic jazz-influenced rock
“Daydreaming,” OMV alt rock midtempo ballad
I like this song of theirs as it gives me punk rock vibes.
Zack great reaction,,,Nobody ever knows what BM will come up with,even within a song you dont know where its going or going to end up,to me thats the genius of these ladies,,No cookie cutter same old same old from BM.

BLOOMING stands up as one of BAND-MAID’s best songs. The lyrics you cited are accurately, not loosely, translated.

In the OMV, I like how the camera focuses on how they are playing their instruments, but you offered a new perspective for me to consider. I took it to mean that we are to take the ladies as serious musicians and that we should listen to carefully to what they are playing; their pretty faces are irrelevant to the music. (The focus for many popular “artists” seems to be quite the opposite.)

There are very few BAND-MAID songs where they OMV is superior to the LIVE. This is one of them. The others being 'Unleash', Rinne' and 'Shambles'.
