Hi there, the holding and locking tabs on the other three side make for an extremely secure fit. So, there is no need to screw the other side into the joist.
I love this video Tony. I got RVL110, which I need install to replace a regular light fixture, since this house came without exhaust fan in the bathroom. Will let you know how difficult it is. I wonder if I can not make any exhaust connection and just blow air to the attic space?
You could blow the air wherever you want to. Is it a good idea? No... that's why people vent to the outside. Skip the important step if you want to have mold / moisture issues in your attic.
The 90 degree solid duct elbow is no good, but the flexible ducting you attach the adapter to is just fine? That stuff gets crinkled up into all kinds of weird shapes and is going to cause the same air flow problems that too many solid elbows can cause. In fact, it will likely be worse due to the turbulence caused by the ribbed/non-smooth interior. Solid ducting is recommended for all exhaust fans: bathrooms, kitchen range hoods and dryers. You should never be using flexible ducting if you can help it.
This is the video you want for installing a Revent fan in old work. Watch it two or more times. It will help you so much.
We're glad this video was informative and helpful, Frederick. Thank you for your comment.
Fantastic! Thank you!!
For functionally the fan needs a light switch, turn that off first, make sure power is off, if so you are good to go.
I would pre-twist the stranded to solid. The fan will vibrate and those wire connections could come loose.
I noticed you used a tabs for three sides of the opening ceiling but I didn't see you screw it anywhere to secure it the joist ?

my house came without one either so I will make full installation my self
@@NyxT-GyreX lol... yes they come without them... Don't vent into your attic though, that's asking for trouble.
This is the best DIY video
Hmmmm i didnt see the light come on when you hit the switch
They will change their mind when they can hear everyone taking a massive shit
I love my new Revent fan, but the curvy cover is very bothersome, how do I insulate around it to prevent air and sound leak?
My Revent fan didn’t come with the damper adapter in the package, so what now?
Take it back to Home Depot or where ever you bought it, then get a new one.

That room's way too big for that bath fan that room probably requires a 110 cf. plus.
Is recommend Panasonic bath fan
THAT FAN is too small for that size bathroom IT NEEDS TO BE 130CFM
the cameraman is pretty much useless. I can't see anything what he did.
Pretty dirty job
Obviously not a detail-oriented person. What about the sheetrock damage you caused?
I don't see any damage.
Not only that. Tearing out screws with a bar... Then loosing all the insulation that fell down. I would be mad.
@@RoaringOrangeand bending up the old fan housing. When I had mine replaced the housing didn’t get all bent up. Obviously not detail oriented 😂
@@RoaringOrangenot to mention I had the same broan nutone fan but 70 cfm. It’s incredibly easy to not destroy the old fan when replacing it.
@charlesrodriguez7984 you people are annoying as fuck
