I haven’t commented in a while Martin. Time gets the better of us sometimes, but I always watch and enjoy your restorations. This one was special for me. My father was a firefighter in Baltimore City for 35 years. He started his career in 1966. I remember seeing these all over the fire apparatus and they were ALWAYS shiny. I’m guessing back then that was part of the job…keeping your tools pristine even in the worst conditions. I appreciate your love for your hobby. I’m sure many wouldn’t have that kind of patience. This brought back a lot of memories of my childhood and when my dad was such a young man.

After a tough day at work, what a joy to come home to my favourite restorer, with another fantastic restoration. Have a wonderful weekend my friend.

Beautiful! Love the dark color of the handle. Nice compliment to the axe head.
