  • A WSJ analysis shows that Latino communities drifted toward the Republican Party in the last presidential election. If the trend continues, it could mark a dramatic change for America’s two major political parties. WSJ’s Shelby Holliday and Aaron Zitner take a look at three places where Latinos could help decide important races in 2022. Photo illustration: Amber Bragdon

An argentinian is very different culturally to a Mexican, a Colombian from the north had little in common with a Colombian from the south of the same country. So please stop thinking that you can define more than 20 countries by saying Latino. There were other articles that said Blacks were more 10 times more likely to be in prison, 5 times more likely to die before the age of 5, and 10 times more likely to live in poverty. Latinos have similar statistics. The other thing is there's the association of Latino appointed and elected officials. If they were elected in large numbers, they wouldn't need to be appointed. Also, people talk in terms of say "Ted Cruz is the Latino Obama". If the Latino "block" was really effective, they would call Obama the "Ted Cruz" of the black community.

The Democratic Party is not focusing on the issues important to Latino people. This is why. The biggest focus is on abortion, LGBTQ issues, legalization of marijuana and corporate interests. Those are not at the top of our list. Education that is not going to put our children into debt, jobs that are not going to be shipped overseas just as we’re getting good at them, Healthcare that is not going to bankrupt us, a pathway to citizenship for ants, uncles, cousins and other relatives that are here and doing the best they can to live a good, clean, productive life. Put those at the top of the list, and you get our vote. We actively participate in the economy with the hard work for which we are famous and many of our children are in the military helping to defend this country. We do not come to the table as beggars and supplicants but, rather, as a people that have issues that need to be addressed that, incidentally, affect everybody regardless of their ethnic background.

The democratic party wants a large federal government and weak states. The Republican party wants strong states and a smaller federal government. It's an argument that has persisted over the last 250 years. You'll notice whenever a democrat gets into office the US goes into a national emergency (this time economic), they are keeping power up there to pass laws with zero oversight. They expand NATO and pull from our social security to keep us in distress. Biden signed an executive order to increase medication cost his first week in office. Democratic voters don't understand the difference between the DNC and liberal policies, and their party remains unchecked. A good example is that the DoJ is targeting journalist who don't support the DNC agenda, democratic voters are arguing over abortion, and Republicans were removed from social media and politicians aren't covered on DNC funded media (CNN and MSNBC) to voice their concerns and Democrats don't watch c-span. So it isn't a 2 party system, it's really one. They don't care about equal representation in any way other than race, they want the Clinton administration to stay in office. If the Republicans got their way and federal power was lowered and regulations were put on the federal government, we would be a 50 state system instead of two party. Maybe instituting commonwealths, for a larger economy, if some states wanted socialism or a few larger programs i.e expanded medicare.

      That's right
As a mexican (a real mexican) i can confirm that if you were born in the U.S. you're an american.
You're not a mexican, a colombian, a latino or a hispanic, you're just an american
