I'm genuinely surprised by how Hikaru even after 2 continious losses makes these recap videos as soon as he comes back from the games. Truely dedicated man!
Absolutely I was just thinking that, literally less than hour later Hikaru posts recap!
Super guy truly
Because he's a content creator first
He had to make it otherwise people would have thought he is crying
Fun fact: He is not a chess player
True story - we indians support magnus and hikaru as much as we support our indian players.
💯 true
absolutely... ultimately we treasure the game.. and even more the players who make this game involving and fun... Sorry for my bad english.🙏
As an Indian, I can confirm that this is 100% true.
as an indian this is not true 🙅♂️
@@slicfangmaybe not for illiterates for you, but most do.
Hikaru is like master, for the love of chess he would review every game
Pragg played astoundingly well
Hard fought match
"Astoundingly well" is an overstatement. Hikaru blundered in the first game, and Prag collected. It's really as simple as that.
Giving Hikaru 0 chance of getting back into the game when everybody considers Hikaru the most tenacious player and better than Magnus in this particular aspect is seriously an act of applaud and shows the brilliance of Praggnanandhaa.
@@Unknown-jt1jo Ok so if your point is, that Hikaru lost because he made a mistake: duh, that’s chess, you cannot win ever if your opponent plays flawlessly
Pragg played incredibly well, put a ton of pressure on Hikaru, he came somewhat close to winning in the classical portion, and he straight up outplayed Hikaru in the tiebreaks
What more can you possibly want?
@@Theingthing-TIT Exactly right
@@Unknown-jt1jo I guess you can do that as well!!
I am from 🇮🇳 and I saw your match live today, in my heart I had this feeling of confusion as I am a Hikaru fan and at the same time I did wanted Pragg to win as a fellow Indian but obviously I had a tightness in my chest as you resigned but I would have felt better if there was another draw and no must win situation. Nevertheless I enjoy watching you streaming online. I hope you make a comeback again!
I have exactly same feeling.
Same
I am also hikari fan love from india
Add me to that list too
It was a terrific match to witness
I have unbelievable respect for both players, and this will be one of those special matches I’ll never forget
Absolutely no shame in losing to Pragg, one super GM against another. Great games and a good run. We all know Hikaru will bounce back!
yes, but I feel like he could've won that. Anyway such is life
Well he can't really bounce back in this tournament
@@builderphill1361no but it is what it is. There will always be more top level tournaments for him to play and enjoy :)
Can't agree with more. Well put.
@@Blinkers2007GameDev pragg was never actually in any real trouble(not just today but even the last couple of days)
Having a GM losing his game and still enthusiastically analyses it for us is really a blessing!
props to hikaru to make a recap minutes after a terrible defeat.
No matter what, Hikaru is a super GM and he will be back. Let's go Hikaru !!
Pragg is on the path to became world top 10..so lossing against him is not a bad result

Quite Surprising that after loosing for 2, Hikaru made a analysis. The true GM spirit showing respect to another GM ❤
Great to see you in a video even after you are out of the tournament. Chess is making everyone stronger
Hikaru gave a great birthday present to Pragg😅
Hikaru didn't give it, Pragg took it
Just like Magnus vs Gukesh
pragg graabbed it ,isn't offered by naka
@@masterthesis4645 Hikaru gave it to him for free when he could've kept it to himself, by not messing up the move order and making that horrible blunder
@@Blinkers2007GameDevso ? Its his mistake and that's how you lose in chess ,

Im sorry Hikaru. You deserved better. Good luck going into more tournaments. It's heartbreaking to see this and you can see that he's really sad.
You're going to be fine though, we all believe in you
He deserved exactly how the games went lol. It’s all on him, and he’s fine, he’s primarily a twitch streamer, he literally doesn’t care

I don't have any idea how would chess competitions are organized. I though it was some top stage of world championship, super bowl or something like that. 🥴
@@randomgeographer4410 don't worry it's okay. We all were newbies at some stage.
A display of an important characted that everyone should have! Not fearing the about the results, but to embrace the reality and to let others get better. Glad we are following the right person, respect Hikaru 🙌🙌
Hikaru taken the defeat in his stride.... Like a grownup. And he has lot respect for Pragg as well. Nice Dude. 😎
Hikaru once told prag to resign when in lost position but he himself keep making moves in lost position out of inertia.😊
Chess players never want to resign unless they spot mate in 4 or less.
Such a gentleman you are. After having a loss in this tournament, many will break. But look at you, happily analysing. Great spirit. Kudos to you
Making a video after a tough day at office is one of the many reasons why Hikuru is a true champion!!
Sad for hikaru😢 really wanted to play him in world cup final
Same. He could've done it. Really...
I told you before the match that you should go wearing a pineapple 🍍 shirt. Because when you play wearing a pineapple shirt you are impossible to beat even by magnus.
Great attitude after a loss. World class act Gm Hikaru.
Hikaru will go down in history as the Father of Chess renaissance. He literally kept the game alive and popularized it to the masses. The Carl Sagan of Chess.
it is really not possible to not love this guy. Thats why you are a legend, creating a recap even after a defeat. Absolute chad. respect!
People love Trump too . They’re just as deluded .
Pragg is in best form of his life, no shame in losing ❤
Sorry for the loss.
It's ok you're still a very good Chess player for me.
He’s not a good chess player for me! 😡
He's second classical player and would have smoked pragg would he not make that blunder@@gusleffers9265
@@gusleffers9265Who asked
Sorry??
prag prepared better for the 1st tie break and knew the moment Hikaru played a bad move and converted it. Then was able take advantage of the second tiebreak by playing solid taking no risks allowing Hikaru to defeat himself by playing none best moves to try and create chances. Bit of a tough one, really. Would have to be a player like Tal or Magnus to pull the comeback off in this situation
Even after draw and loose Hikaru's massive energy to make recap of own blunders takes courage
Pragg is just 18 years old wow😮
Hikaru forcing himself to smile after a tough loss is what I need 😅
This video is so therapeutic! I feel better now. Never give up, guys. It is what it is. The whole life is just a game, don't take it to heart. Thank you Hikaru❤
You guys both played really well today. Hopefully you can comeback next tournament!
This is what I love about players like Hikaru and Anish. It is almost impossible to unsettle them. It requires one to be absolutely iron willed to take the loses as they come, and not be moved too much by it. This is the reason there is nothing called 'Out of form' for such players. No wonder they bounce back so consistently.
Soooo unfortunate I was listening whole time in the car because had to drive, huge kudos to Pragg for such a brilliant games. Love you Hikaru!
AND less than 1hour later Hikaru posts recap, thats called dedication to the fans! Was excited for it and checked his channel thinking id be silly to expect it was posted, and low and behold Boom its there!
Hikaru- See you guys, byeee
Levy - Get out of here...
Hikaru , you have such a spirit and love for the game of chess even after losing. Kudos to your time and effort for the chess world.
Unbelievable structure recognition hats off to you dear Sir!
Big love Hikaru, for sure it's been a great year.
Glad your philosophical.
Pragg put on an immaculate game 2.
Safe travels home.

Carlsen would give Hikaru a 10 on sanity for being able to review right after elimination
I’m glad Hikaru has held his head up high.Great game by both grandmasters.Hope to see more from you in the future!!!
"Pragg-matic" lol Hikaru is a meme KING
I respect Hikaru not just because he is a super GM, one of the greatest of all time, I mean if not him anybody can do that. But my atmost respect for him because of his sportsmanship and zero arrogance at even this level
The world is not ready to handle Indian Chess Prodigies ( pragg , gukesh , nihal , etc etc ) thanks to Vishy Anand 🇮🇳
Love from India bro... ❤❤ You already proved yourself, and pragg is young so don't mind doing few mistakes for a child who is just like you to fulfill his Ambition ❤ let's hope for Pragg to do another miracle in finals🎉🎉🎉
And love your spirit you are a true chess lover & still share your mind mapping of the game to us to learn from your experience ❤❤❤ True Chess Lover ❤❤❤
You fought well dear Hikaru; for us you are still one of the greatest of all time. At your next competition we will be here again cheering for you!
I love Hikaru. I want him to become World champion and Pragg challenge him next year
My Respect for Hikaru as a Top GM and Pro Streamer have increased once again.
@8:50 "It's very Pragg matic". Was that pun intentional or not?
I love hikaru for being such a great sportsman, giving credit where it is due.
I like your fighting spirit in Game 2. A draw in such a situation is for losers. You need to fight as long as you can, esp. when it is not classical and no Elo is involved. Go for it!
He is future chess champion he will break every single record of magnus carlsen
Wow even though I was rooting for pragg , i am still amazed that you can make a recap even after loosing a very important game . Shows your character. You truly are an inspiring person and a true super GM.
Thanks Hikaru, Like my brother says, "Win with class, and lose with dignity." you're the best. Looking forward to keep watching your amazing games.
Nakamura, mereces todo el éxito que has tenido, haces tu contenido con paciencia y pasión a pesar del trago amargo de haber perdido.
Once upon a time, Hikaru was like, "Top super GMs, I'm coming for you!" And he actually won a bunch of big chess events this year. Then, surprise surprise, he got married. And guess what? We all saw his first-round match against the lower-rated Kartik-what a suspenseful plot twist! Though he survived that round, all thanks to the magical powers of marriage, or so it seems! 💍🏆😄 "Ladki ka chakar, Babu bhaiya!" Just kidding, by the way. Happy married life, Hikaru!
It was our choice to make the news public when we did, but I got married before I won Norway Chess so please stop pushing false narratives.
Today seems to be a tough day for him. However, we all know how talented he is. Great job, GOAT! We will always be here to support you, no matter what happens. :)
When two of your favourites are battling it out, everyones a winner :)
No matter what Hikaru you're still one of the best in the planet. Pretty sure you're gonna bounce back stronger 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😊
Its hard to do analysis in this situation hats off to you hikaru... You deserves 100M subscribers🎉🎉🎉🎉
Respect to Hikaru ... not easy to be consistent in putting the videos , even in defeat ...
This shows you are a gem... Staying postive eventhough it's a tight situation. This makes people like me to understand never give up, n face the failure with heads up and continue to work hard
In my opinion, the best part about pragg is that he doesn't hesitate to play bold moves even against top players like magnus and hikaru and also if he feels that he can put pressure on the board he believes in his abilities and starts attacking rather than going defensive like other youngsters or 2600s,well played 🎉
Strong man like you deserve a like! You are aspiring many of us.
6:50 I was just thinking that GM are not some silly persons & so they probably never get their queens or pieces get pinned in a game & then soon Hikaru does gets his queen pinned 😂🙃.
This makes me realize that even GM do make mistakes sometimes. Being GM doesn't mean you'll not make mistakes but it is to think of out of the box ideas to counter the tragic situations and try to get the best position in the game. This thing motivates me to get better in Chess.
I just got 1300 elo in chess ,I know it's not that great right now but I'll trying hard to get better in this.
Love Hikaru and His videos btw ❤🇮🇳.
Its just a matter of someones day today, and it was of Pragg, its ok..... comment section is going hilarious 😢
I'm in awe of how you make these videos no matter what....I want to be just as consistent as you in life
No matter he loses the game but uploading this video just after the match wins a lots of heart from India and subscriber as well. It's win win situations for both. Love from India ❤
I appreciate you still putting recaps even though you lost👍
The irony is Hikaru is Prag’s idol
Losing & Winning doesn't matter in sports, what matters is Sportmanship. Hikaru is genuinely a great person with high level of Sportsmanship. Keep it up Hikaru!
Hikaru plays chess so that he can create content. He does not create content so that he can play. Putting this video out is more important to him than the result of the match.
Thanks for being consistent and producing content even after losses. I stayed up to see the Tie break rapid games after a 10 hour closing shift at work and seeing Japan eliminated from WWC 2023. I was tired, in a bad mood and hoping night would finish on a high. That said, the games were still interesting even after the opening prep blunder in game 1. It's nice to see the thought process that you go through when the odds are long and the chips are down. In life we often face long odds but we still push and try and learn. Great example on how to be in tough times. Credit to Pragg for maintaining his composure and finding the right moves at such a young age in those moments. It was still worth staying up till about 7 AM PDT .
Always an inspiration ❤❤...
Love your videos...
Hard luck today......love from india❤
Thanks!
WOW thanks!! - hn
Kudos to hikaru for making recaps. The show must go on. Waiting to see you play in more tournament in future. Love from India 🇮🇳
In 10:31 ,did he say Magnus?Man he can not even forget him in playing with other players.Bromance 😏
Hats off to you man for playing the game with the best you got. No underestimation, entitlement, or saltiness.
I just wanna say, Prag and Keymer is definitely going to be the next huge (I mean they're already big in the community but they''ll definitely go bigger) stars in the Chess world.
Pragg, a future World Champion, I'd put money on it (if I had any)
Hikaru giving credit where its due !! Humbling !! Of course Pragg did his part !! Love you both Hikaru and Pragg !!
It's not a problem at all. Fischer was defeated long ago by the unknown Kovacevic, and Fischer played with white pieces.
you are super good! BUT your attitude? not so much tbh, just don't say "I could have done this & that, I was not in the right mindset etc." Like just accept it on stage please. How do you know Pragg was in the best of the best of his mindset either? you just made mistakes. It's not the first time you are doing this, watched a lot videos of yours as soon as Magnus made a silly mistake and you won you are like DAMN I AM THE ONE! like what if you won against Magnus just because he was not in the right mindset that time too? So stop giving explanations like these it's like you are giving half hearted credits to the talented opponents.
He is just criticizing himself and we learn from it too, what's your problem? He also compliments Pragg for making good moves.
Waiting for you in Candidates, Hikaru !
Can we talk about how amazing the thumbnail is??!
Never thought that a guy losing a couple of chess matches would make me feel so bad.
Hikaru is a man of culture, taking the L like a gentleman and making an analysis video right after, with such enthusiasm I might add. Good Game, Hikaru Nakamura. ❤

I am an Indian so definitely rooting to prag but I am a Hikaru fan too.
Yet to start the video, though I am amazed by the sincerity of Hikaru.
Good attempt Hikaru, would've been nice if you could have won the World Cup before Magnus but Pragg played very well wo kuddos to him.. Hope this doesn't discourage you from playing and recapping more FIDE torunaments in the future !
I love this guy the way he explaiins hs defeats.... amazing and quite inspirational... truly professional
Hikaru ,You are one of my most favourite playerrr ❤️,love from india
Nakamura was a giant over the board, as always (but seems stronger each day). It is a treasure to be able to hear what a super GM thought at every game stage, a few hours after watching the game and trying to imagine what he was thinking (naturally, I fall far from his vision, every single move). Nakamura is a wonderful, extremely rare player+streamer combination.
