    I don't know about you guys, but I feel Prag eventually broke through that 2700 ceiling for good. He's so young this sounds extremely promising. Something's going on around that part of the world: Central Asia + India. So many promising youngsters are rising around there, so many of them seem to be able to reach that SuperGM status. This will be exciting to follow their rising (or dificulty in climbing) to the very top in the next few years.

But, I would love to see Gukesh vs Vidit semi final guaranteeing a place in the candidates for one of them. Though looks a bit too much at the moment. Vidit is in form but Nepo is not an easy nut to crack. Gukesh had his first real tough test and he passed it. In the other half, Arjun vs Pragg quarter final looms. This is the best chance for an Indian player to reach atleast the semi final and then may be the final and candidates. Really excited. Good luck to all players.

      pragnananda cornered hikaru's king to h6, depending on whichever way the king moves, it will be a check mate. eg. if king stayed at h6, bishop would move to f5, blocking g6 h7 , then rook to h7 would be checkmate.
      if king moved to g6 instead of h6, then white pawn to f5 checking the king, black knight knocks f5 , e4 pawn recaptures black knight, eventually checkmate.
      same way, if king moved to h5 , bishop to f5, finally rook to h7, checkmate.
      in all possible scenario, hikaru loses by checkmate.

    4:47 at this point there was a weird engine tactic.
    Instead of Nxb8 ,play Nxf6 sacrificing the knight. If black accepts the sacrifice by recapturing with the king, it's a forced mate in #22.
    These engine tactics are way beyond human capabilities.

    Pragg is not in the bracket of magnus carlsen....so most probably if magnus beats gukesh and nepo beats vidit then magnus vs nepo will happen in semifinal and in 2nd bracket if pragg beats arjun then fabiano vs pragg will happen and because magnus and nepo is already into candidates so fabi and pragg will instantly become candidates ...no matter they win or loose just by reaching semifinals they will get the ticket for candidates.

    I hope Pragg becomes a Ramanujan of chess and an eventual world champion. May he live much longer than the beloved Indian mathematician who burned so brightly, but left us much too soon. I haven't been this excited to see a new chess talent since Magnus was about 10 years old. Pragg seems so grounded and mature.

    5:02, prag made a mistake. Before moving the queen to take rook , he could move the rook and make a double attack. If he did this move probably he would save his queen ...😊

    • @CosmicCanvas666
      @CosmicCanvas666 Год назад +1

      Yeah, but then he would be exchanging two rooks for the queen. In the end, it would be white Queen vs two black rooks whereas here, it is equalised with a rook on either side. I don't know which is strategically better😅

    I think Praggnanandhaa did a wrong at 5:01 minutes, he should have used rook and give a check to the king, so the king has to move or the queen has to kill the rook, if the queen kills the rook then the other rook can kill the queen and if the king moves the rook can kill the queen.
