So apparently this song is upbeat as a contrast to a dark story. I felt that may be the case given that soft portion in the middle, but i think it'd have solidified that suspicion had i been gifted the ability to process lyrics and instrumentals at the same time. My ADHD could never 😅
This game has mostly dark or sad story but we do get wholesome events here and there. If your curious on our cat goldenglow I could tell you a bit more unless someone already let you know about her. But this song is one of my favorites.

The *Victorian* _(1)_ *Infected* _(2)_ named *Susie Glitter* is the daughter of a poor family who, in order to feed her five siblings and bring income for her only mother, decided to leave her hometown in the north and work in the southern port city of Caladon as a shopkeeper for a shop named "Green Spark." With her diligence and hardworking, she managed to earn some money to buy the very shop she was working and turn it into her saloon, and she almost fulfilled her dream until a merciless fire destroyed the building. While she grieved for the tragedy that almost led to her own suicide, she did not realize that she would become a target of an insidious plan conducted by the local noble as part of his plan to harm the Infected community.
After the Caladon incident, Susie was at least awarded as a heroine for the city, but nothing could compensate the destruction of the shop. Fortunately, under the invitation of Quercus, the shop's owner, she joined *Rhodes Island* _(3)_ and has since learning to become a *Caster* _(4)_ utilizing electrokinetic *Originium Arts* _(5)_ channeled from her "Driftbeacon" semi-autonomous Arts platforms under the codename "Goldenglow". Meanwhile, she is known for being a brilliant hairstylist, but her uncontrolled static electricity caused by her Arts could sometimes be a headache to her.
Notes:
_(1) Victoria_
A parallel to United Kingdom, more specifically the British Empire during the Victorian era (from which it is named after).
_(2) Oripathy_
A progressive, terminal "disease" in the world of Arknights, caused by direct or prolonged exposure to Originium, and Individuals with Oripathy are referred to as the "Infected".
_(3) Rhodes Island_
The protagonistic faction of Arknights. Made up almost exclusively of the Infected, R.I. legally operates as a pharmaceutical company that provides care and treatment to the Infected, but due to the wide variety of Operators in its employ with combat skills, they are more of a paramilitary organization who strives to fight for the betterment of the Infected.
_(4) Caster_
One of eight operator classes in Arknights.
_(5) Originium Arts_
Originium Arts or simply Arts is the umbrella term for abilities to manipulate and transform matters and energy, using the power provided by Originium in the world of Arknights. It is the primary "magic system" in the setting.
The ability to use Arts seems to be natural for Terrans, and many people are at least capable of very basic forms of Arts. Those who are highly capable in Arts (e.g. to an extent that they are combat effective with Arts alone) are known as Casters (not to be confused with the Operator class).

besides the classic game setup (precious but hazardous ressources, prejudices and co) and all the real word inspiration they draw from

bolivar -> latin america/dog-people
etc...
depending on what character in what situation in what place they have a wide variety of music to look forward too

'March on' is another great song to listen to.
6:14 there's actually way more variety to Arknights music than character focused songs. I would recommend you listen to Contigency Contract songs (favorites are Ashring and Deepness) or even boss/battles OST in order to see more of the variety the game has to offer!

Roaring Flare and Twilight of Wolumonde elevated the AK experience so much, while also being really amazing songs outside the AK context
My favorite CC theme is Pyrite. It's just so corrupted and destructive. Blade is more about self-confidence and threatening your opponent. Pyrite says it's going to fuck you up if you don't man up and take charge.
4:42 for a fun fact. The theme 100% gives off good vibe but it heavily contrast with Goldenglow's story which is definitively the opposite (won't detail in case you end up playing the game at some point). Hypergryph often do that with a music that will constrat the character's story, though it's not everytime.
I would say contrasting songs are actually in the minority. Most songs do play with the character's themes but only a few actively contrast them. It also has to do with their personality, which makes identifying contrasts a little hard. Yeah GG keeps getting beat down by life but she herself is rather upbeat and tries to never give up, which is reflected in the song. Her positivity is very much a coping mechanism.

You are amazing. One thing I would like to mention is that, while Caster is a class in-game, in lore Caster just refers to anybody who is able to conduct Arts. For example, Liskarm is technically a Caster lore-wise but her class is Defender
Here's a fun fact. The singer for this is Cristina Vee, who's a voice actress that's been in quite a bit of stuff over the years, including Konosuba as Darkness, Hunter x Hunter as Killua, and Tales of Berseria as Velvet.
She's also done other songs for Arknights. Namely, Rock the Night Away, CanNot Wait For, Boiling Blood and Alive.
Upbeat and positive vibe to intentionally contrast with the tone of the story, what the girl actually went through.

I suggest magic theorem as the next song, as the character related to that theme is coming to The EN version of the game.

You should listen to “Towards her Light”
I recommend "Keep the Torch" as well as "Operation Blade" and "Operation Pyrite" from the Contingency Contract themes.
If you like the beat and feel of Spark for Dream, you should give a listen to Sparkling Hydraulics, one of the older Arknights character songs.
It's made by the same composer (Obadiah Brown-Beach), and has similar instruments and vibes.
