The unstoppable pros are: Steve Smith (Memphis Drum Shop 2016) - 0:10 Joe Morello (Conan 1995) - 0:32 Vinnie Colaiuta (soundcheck w/ Pattituci band 1992) - 0:57 Jojo Mayer (Evans UV1 spot 2016) - 1:10 Matt Cameron (w/ Pearl Jam, Amsterdam 2014) - 1:23 Max Weinberg (w/ E Street Band & Bruce Springsteen, Hyde Park 2009) - 1:35 Vinnie Colaiuta (w/ Sting, A Coruña 2015) - 1:45 Buddy Rich - 2:17 Ari Hoenig (Smalls Jazz Club 2014) - 2:51 Mark Guiliana (Blue Whale LA 2017) - 3:07 Jeff Babko (Blue Whale LA 2017) - 4:04
I can relate to Joe Morello here at 037.That’s happened to me so many times!! You reach down for another stick and you get a soft mallet!! 😂 Joe got a mallet , chucked it and then got ANOTHER mallet though!! What are the chances!? I thought for a minute he was gonna pull out a third mallet😂
Btw just before anyone comments I know Joe was visually impaired and in fact legally blind but like I say I often pull out a mallet too as you don’t have time to look down you just reach down and feel for a stick. He managed to see it was a mallet after he reached down and felt for a stick which is why he threw it ( and then the next one too) WITHOUT PLAYING IT and then finally saw he had a stick and so carried on with playing
Thank you so much for posting this! ALL these cats are MONSTERS in their own right, but when Buddy snapped that stick, and the wizardry that followed, I lost my mind! I've watched that clip about 100 times and it still twists me up...
Great video, but Vinnie always knocks his glasses off his face. It's been his gimmick since the seventies (he's credited on Joe's Garage for "ocular abandon")
Not to take anything away from this brilliant compilation, but if anybody has any other suggestions on how to "just keep going" that aren't visually humorous or that don't involve stick/equipment mishaps I'd be open to hearing them right about now.

Instablaster
What about the guy on 2:33
This may be the best drum video I've seem in a while. Great job man!
Also, even buddy's stick drops where unmatched...
Such an Amazing video. The Guiliana episode was a train wreck. 😂. And Buddy Rich played more notes w one stick than most drummers do w two! .
4:38 I was waiting for the bassist to drop his bass too, like the equipment falls apart when the camera gets to them. 😂
That Buddy Rich one was crazy 😳😳😳 i mean dang, you wouldn’t even notice what happened if you’re just listening.

The Jojo one is great. Talk about workin the problem lol
Buddy FTW!!!
Kaveh to the rescue
Hahahaha the Guiliana one is hilarious, this guy is just wrecking his set
1:03 Patitucci : ok that's enough
Vinnie: oh dropped stick, no problem, let me end this with one handed fill
Guilliana was probably summoning spirits
LOL
Remember people, no matter how great you are, we all drop a stick from time to time!😂
my drumteacher used to say if you drop a stick its a sign that you are loose and your body isnt tightened up
everything just kept going wrong in the last clip!!
oomcheck yep, was waiting for the neck on the bass to break off. They need to get better gear or something lol
@@donovanjones4175 indeed, i was shocked SO many things were falling apart!
heelll yeahh!!
Matt Cameron, kept backbeat and grabbed another stick so quickly no one knew at all!

lol
Who did the set up at the MG gig? Keyboards crumbling...Lol...cymbal malfunctions! Mark didn’t miss a beat. That’s a pro!
