    Just got a Hugo Boss suit from the late 1980's from a second hand store and can confirm I got a great bargain at $40. Fits like a glove and has a tag that reads Made in WEST Germany.

    I don' know , it's either my eyes or my brains , he looks good with Hugo. The colour, the fit, the brand :D

    The Boss blazer is ten times the price of the other one, but £320, I think, is still a bargain for a decent one. Before I bought my Boss suit (it's a linen unstructured piece and it's very nice) I went to Zegna, where the blazers were even nicer, but... they were £2500!

    I own Hugo Boss blazer and I also have an H&M one. Difference is quite significant.

    The fit really is important but saying that the 30 pound blazer doesn’t look or feel much different than the 100% wool Hugo Boss blazer is insane. I’d always pick a mid range brand like Hugo Boss over the crap fest that is Zara and similar brands with their glued suits and crappy materials.

    Suit brands don't matter. Sizing and fitting matters. Any brand works as long as it fits properly. A nice haircut also helps. Try not to be too fat either. The $$$$ should go towards the dress shoes and belt. That's the real difference maker.

    It’s all about fabric. I bet the top man is polyester lined at least. Spend a bit more on a better fabric such as viscose. Will last far longer and feels better.

      But it does if you buy the right stuff, Hugo Boss is much higher quality than Top Man and that’s just a fact. Besides if you’re wearing suits you shouldn’t really let them decay to begin with

    In my opinion, I don't wear designer clothing as all your paying for is the badge. Think about a pair of Armani jeans. I can get a similar pair for more than half price at River Island or Topman for example. But I really don't mind a Boss Suit (only on sale days 😂)

    • @JoshSullivanFashion

      Yeah designer on the premium pieces like coats & suits is what id recommend

    • @sharinglungs3226
      @sharinglungs3226 5 лет назад

      Not really. You’re paying for the cut, design, material and little details. Usually with cheaper clothing you can tell where they cut corners to save a little on the cost. I do agree that certain items the difference can be minimal like plain t-shirts. I’ve also noticed with very cheap clothing they don’t last very long and tend to shrink.

    • @MrFinally24

      Armani jeans, although not the best out there, are far superior to river island’s jeans

      People here can't genuinely tap into what you're saying since they already invested too much in these brands.
      If anyone wants to see real class check out how young yeshiva guys dress especially on a saturday, from hats to socks everything is picture perfect while borsalino is considered a serious spend.

    My biggest question years after this video was posted is how well has Topman's glued chest piece held up over time? Is it coming apart and bubbling? How has the stitching held up? Has the colour faded significantly as expected of cheaper suit fabrics?

      and another year later, another viewer wonders why he didnt look at the stiches, how they exit at the end, or the quality of them. And indeed, I'm curious how they did over the years.

  • @johncee1481

    Topman I guess is more what we call disposable fashion, I´d expect the Boss suit to survive a few dry cleans before starting to wear out. Meyer trousers are a good quality German brand as well.I´ve also noticed that these popular stretch jeans wear out quicker on the knees, that mix of cotton & elastic is not so good a combo.

    • @nestorjrabalos1998
      @nestorjrabalos1998 Год назад

      Topman is fast fashion. After few washes they look shit that you may not want to wear them anymore coz they really look cheap. I realize now the value of quality over quantity. Im not saying to aim for the stars like the high end burberry and the likes, but there are mid range fashion that offers really high quality products that last much longer than fast fashion. Regarding the stretchy jeans, it’s bullcrap. Bought stretchy chinos from Zara and some sections are getting ripped easily after a year. My Levi’s on the other hand is already 15 years and still solid.

  • @revokdaryl1

    Another thing to point out is that you can't see the labels on suits and blazers. Typically on formal wear, the labels are on the inside. Only people that are very familiar with a brand's style and fit might be able to point it out and name it. For instance, a well made Cerruti suit might be indistinguishable from a well made Brioni suit without seeing the label on the inside.

    • @lowIQstuff

      less about brand, more about production quality. Hugo Boss seems to be consistent to me in their clothes being tight in all the right places.

    The less time you spend in the gym the more you have to pay for a suit

  • @nestorjrabalos1998
    @nestorjrabalos1998 Год назад

    Topman is a fast fashion like Zara, et al. And from the term itself, they look fashionable but they don’t last well. Take it fro me, i work in office, when I was starting up (expectedly my salary isn’t that much) I can only afford fast fashion, and they’re easily worn out after several washes and dry cleaning. Years have passed until I could already afford mid range fashion, the clothes last way way longer than the cheap ones I’m buying before. And the quality is noticeable indeed. If you only wear suits once in a while (like attending parties), you’re almost ignorant of them and it’s not surprising you won’t notice the difference. But if you always wear suits in your daily job, there’s a bigger probability you will notice the difference in quality and fit. The ones from fast fashio feels cheap from the moment you touch it until you try it on. Now that I’m older, I’m more appreciative of quality than quantity.

    My guy, talk about the difference in materials. The price differences will make sense then. Also, stand next to someone wearing a Hugo as you wear a Top man. People will see the difference. Cotton v polyester. Cotton all day.

    I like the topman better. The Boss is a little too loose in the waist, very baggy arms, the shoulder pad looks a bit lumpy, and the length looks a tad too long. I think if you got a smaller size it would fit better and perhaps didn’t require tailoring or not as much. I wouldn’t be surprised that fabric wise, little details and longevity the Boss jacket is the better choice.

    Okay, I'm commenting before I've even watched the video, Simple reason is...I'm new to Hugo boss and love how Hugos material feels on my skin, so lightweight and fresh. That's why I prefer to stick with Hugo Polos and T-shirts. I only have one Ralph Lauren Polo and One T-Shirt, which are lovely but I much prefer Hogo Boss on my skin and far light weight.

    • @waynezahra9213
      @waynezahra9213 3 года назад

      @@andrewloveshugs I believe Hugo boss used long cotton instead of short cotton. Only the years Polo has shorten their cotton. So basically you’re lapping for price for cotton that isn’t that top end quality. Back in the day Polo’s cotton was awesome.

Dont disagree with anything youve said,a lot of clothing you would not be able to tell if it was Primark or BOSS...its the little details that give it away...oh,and the Boss jacket looks awesome on you,.

    Hugo Boss jackets are crap because the inside material is polyamide or nylon. A real jacket should be made of wool or natural material.

    Now I've watched the full video, the Hugo Boss shows more your/person's body shape than something that just drops of someone. Hugo Boss far is better looking and the shine to the royal blue shows the cotton is high-end quality (Long Stables). Without sounding offensive, look at WW2 German SS officer's clothes top-class uniforms. SORRY IF IVE OFFENDED ANYONE READING THIS (NAZI UNIFORM) AS THAT NOT MY INTENTION. My point is, Hugo Boss is a class brand. Before Hugo, Germans used to wear a heavy uniform then came Hugo and changed how Germans felt in their clothes. Now Hugo Boss is far bigger in Asian than Europe.

    I was so pissed for a week because the shoulder was perfect (full and luxuries) before the tailor trimmed the sleeve.
    But it seems it's normal to have shoulder divot based on this video and comments ? Any idea ?
