The a6700 is not a good camera, it is an exceptional camera. One note is that it has the chipset and AI chip from the A7R5 and that gives it a huge advantage over many cameras. It's focusing locks on people, planes, animals, birds, trains and automobiles all the way down to insects. It is also capable of producing professional quality images and videos. It's an amazing camera backed up the entire Sony ecosystem, including every e-mount lens.
I mean what apsc camera even compares. The Fuji that cannot focus for the life of it yet it has beautiful colors? I sold my XS20 fast. If focus worked that would be another conversation but nope. It was bad.
Pair it with Viltrox Pro series and you get FF photo quality at significantly lower cost and superb low light performance. These killer lenses weight a bit more than average APSC but they are F1.2 light amount which helps a ton. I would only go FF if I find myself doing lots of low light often at this point.
You can find the s5ii for around the same price. After trying both, I went with the lumix. However, I did enjoy the form factor of the a6700. Great video!
@@mac24x7lumix is better all around except the crop at 4k60. However, I use 4k30 for socials so it isn't huge. I wish the s5ii had 4k120. The ibis is no contest lumix. The AF goes to sony. However, after the newest update the Panasonic AF is fantastic. Also, you can get L mount lenses MUCH cheaper than E mount. So it's great for saving money on good lenses.
Nice review!! I’m very happy with my Sony a6700! It’s been a work horse for me! I believe the Sony 18-105 f4 does have stabilization. It has OSS. I’m thinking about grabbing this lens but I’m also considering in getting the sigma 18-35 f1.8 with the Mc-11 adapter. Decisions decisions lol
@@rafaelolivencia I was able to do a lens trade with another photographer who had the sigma 18-35 f1.8 and the mc-11 adapter with it. Been using it for a couple days now and I’m loving it!
@@anthonym8344 The increase in megapixel is insignificant upgrade. However, if we talk about the AI focus system, the main subjects will be in better focus than the A6500 providing better photos taken especially for wildlife.
i dont think that this would be the reason why you want to switch for A6700.... Quality improvement is really small, I jumped to A6700 from EV-E10, and honestly, all the magic is still in the optics FIRST........ but hell IBIS with AUTOFOCUS magic will push you in extraordinary Efficiency....... usually I am scrapping 90% of all photos, with A6700, reduced scrap rate to max 50%..... and I can finally shoot also moving objects with ease... AI recognition is superfast and in most case it autofocus exactly where you want or need.... plenty of options how to correct the system for specific behaviour..... Its a really EFFICIENT tool, dont expect miraculously better quality, its still only 26Mpix (2more than A6500/6600) , its not a game changer, but the efficiency of focusing makes the body exeptional and makes you happy, that on the end of the day, you have at least 50% of photos or videos USABLE in superb quality .... I hated days, when I run into nature capturing photos, and came home with almost 0 quality photos...... AND 10bit colours push you also on higher level

The a6600 grip was good but this is even better. It still requires a plate at the bottom to prevent the dangling pinky.

You mean second hand S5ii?
Whats your opinion on image quality snd Stabilisation difference?

Thanks! And you're right, it does have OSS...my mistake! I would avoid any adapters, there are so many great choices with Sony lenses!
Yes on OSS and Power Zoom which is great for video and can be controlled thru most gimbals.
I’m running a 6400 with a 18-35 sigma with the 7artisian adapter and works and looks great, best lens i have by far

How do the raw files hold up over the A6500? Any improvements or is it marginal at best?
I think they hold up a bit better, until you get to low light
Better how though? I'm hearing if your just updating for photo only then the difference is imperceptible

My body (probably IBIS) made “fan” noise. Is it normal for that body? Thx.
I couldn't tell you honestly! I have not heard any issues, but I use an external microphone.
Nah A6500 is an amazing camera with image quality - it still holds weight today
