I clicked on this recording to listening this arrangement and was sorta hoping to listen to that sax soli lick a measure before 87 but didn't get all of it :-/
Yeah it felt very… incomplete. I saw what the soloist was trying to communicate but in a way his ambition overwhelmed his ability. He is probably an amazing saxophonist but at that point in time he overestimated what he was capable of pulling off. I could hear the solo he wanted to play just by his expression in his playing. It’s truly incredible how much untapped potential we are missing out on because people had moments like these.
