What a nostalgic day. Pantera and Morbid Angel in the same day. I got to see Pantera twice and the last time was with Morbid Angel on Panteras final tour. 2001 if i remember correctly, Reinventing the Steel tour also with Soulfly. Great time, miss the Abbott brothers everyday
Who can argue about the riffs in this tune. Even compared to other albums this song could easily fit in with any of the “classic” era albums and no one would complain. This song rips.
Also, I should point out that Kaoru of Dir en Grey has mentioned a few times that Morbid Angel were a really big influence on his guitar playing (and possibly the reason he switched to a 7 string). You can hear it lots on Dum Spiro Spero.
After all these years I’ve finally come around to really enjoy this album especially after the sheer shock of my initial reaction. Even the “worse” songs like Radicult I honestly enjoy now. Similar thing happened to me with the No Prayer for the Dying album by Maiden, I hated it at first now I really enjoy it. Amazing how tastes can change with time…
