You’re the first person I’ve seen that actually plays the verse riff correct. Everyone else plays the same patter on the G string (the figure just before the very high A on the E string) but you play the Bb where it should be! Great job 👏 Everyone else plays the B straight through
Nice playing! Where is the Bb you referred to? I know there’s a Bb on the low E during the first part of the verse. As to the second part of the verse, I’ve always played B-G-G-A-D | B-A-G-A before the “stab.” Thanks.
Very nice cover of an epic song, from a dynamite Yes album. I have always loved it, despite the fact that I haven't the faintest idea what the blue-blazes Jon's lyrics mean!

Thanks! I always enjoyed live versions of songs much more than the studio versions. Especially with music from the 60s~70s where the live versions are usually more aggressive.
ZealZaddy Thanks a lot! The thing I found most difficult when covering this song was playing it correctly in one take (which was not the case for me). Also, the high to low slides during the verse, I find it hard to make those slides sound loud and solid every time. I had to over dub some of those slides too.
@@picure I spent 3 hours a day after school at 16 to learn that solo at the end of the Yessongs version (I've long since forgotten it). Now I'm working on the opening of Close to the Edge. (If this sounds boastful, just know that I'd be embarrassed to have you hear it!) Man, Steve Howe is a mad genius, and you did him proud!

It goes from a regular G major lick to a G minor lick on the G-string.
So instead of (in numbers) 4 2 0 2 on the G string it is 3 2 0 2 at some places in the song
