Thank you! I have gotten it partially torn down and the next video of that uploading now. I am hoping to complete the rest of the reseal up in the next video. I didn't know if I wanted to make a huge one plus hour long video of the full cleaning and reassembly so I tried to break it up into two parts. Plus now I'm waiting on a crankshaft seal speedy sleeve anyway.
Easiest way would be to rent a pressure tester kit or buy a mechanical gauge and connect it to the pressure switch port. The port is located on the driver side, below the alternator. It'll be a nearly round plug with a single wire to it that takes a 25mm (?) Wrench to remove. It's in a tight spot. I have seen other people run a T valve in place with both a gauge and the sensor to constantly monitor oil pressure. If the sensor is disconnected, your oil light will be on constantly.
The specifications for the thrust washers are Standard thrust clearance: 0.020- 0.185 mm Maximum thrust clearance: 0.30 mm (0.0118 in.) If your thrust washers are exceeding that end play, they can be replaced as a set. I do not think they should be welded in place as they have little tabs to hold them in. How much play are you getting currently?
Nice vid, looking forward to seeing you hook into this motor

Spuds a great car. Love seeing the adventures on Instagram.
I agree. I can't wait to get it back together and hopefully run on another lemons rally next fall!
Can you explain what your process for pressure testing your oil pump was, please? I’m not familiar with how to go about that on this engine.

Hey, I just have a 85 with a crank moving back and forth, bad thrust washer, can those be welded into place ?

Would you sell one of your Tercel wagons? I have been looking for one for months
Unfortunately none of mine are for sale. Join us on the FB group or forum and you'll be able to find your wagon someday soon!
