Hey Josef, I wanna ask these questions from you. My I-20 has been terminated its been 2 months. But I wrote a letter to my school and got reinstatement i-20. And i m almost finished with filling up the form I-539. The question is: Can I travel to another country in the meantime and comeback, when I arrive at airport section, can i show reinstatement i-20 to get in the US?
One difficulty is many airlines won't let someone without a valid visa board a flight to the US, so the airlines might not accept just the I-20, they might also want a valid I-94. If you can board a flight, it would be up to the CBP officer's discretion to let you in with a valid i-20 but not yet the I-94. In our experience many CBP officers are willing to allow reentry, but ultimately it depends on the officer. Definitely recommend talking to your DSO, and maybe trying to talk with the airline to see if they'll board you.
Hello Sir.. Am in highschool, been out of status for more than five months, trying to do reinstatement with the school am in now, what do you advise I do? Need your help. Thank you.
