Are the employees setting aside things to buy? Probably. It is a perk to a job that has very few perks. Working retail in general is tough and I'd imagine somewhere like Goodwill may be even more of a challenge at times. If anyone has issue with the fact they have the opportunity to do this I'm sure you too could get a job there.

I don't understand why thrift stores are greedy all their items are freely given to them and they price items as though it's new. I use to donate a lot but this one time I donated 2 new Dell windows 11 laptops and 6 new dress men's shirts all with price tags still attached. I received it from a family whose father had passed away. I gave it to goodwill because the size was 3 size too big for me. When I handed over all my items to the goodwill worker outside of goodwill he didn't place items inside of the trailer as other workers did He took these items and placed them inside the back seat of his car. Was this something he was told to do I don't know but on That day I stopped donating as it looked to me the worker was taking these items for himself. He did give me a tax receipt for my taxes when I asked for it. I told another worker about this and she asked me are you sure ? 😂😂

I did see a Goodwill stocker at the regular store alert her friend that she was going to bring out something nice. The stocker then came out of the backroom, and HANDED the item to her friend/accomplice. As far as the bins, the best items I find never went to the store, a worker on the receiving dock decided the item was not worth selling so it went straight to the bins. 90% of my bin finds are this way. A lot of times they have a seasonal rule, if it is a winter item and it's the middle of summer, straight to the bin. Same in the winter with summer stuff. Winter stuff generally is worth more so I do best at the bins in the summer. My picking is routinely all about my knowledge versus the person putting stuff out/pricing/sending to the bins. And then you need a knowledge advantage over other pickers at the bin.

I worked for the goodwill for many years. In our area in pa employees can not shop in their own stores or the bins. We also weren’t allowed to pass things off to family or friends, if caught it’s instant termination. We had sixteen cameras in our store so employees could be watched. But I guess if there’s a will there’s a way.

Yes, they are cherry picking everything. They through in a few good gems for us peasants to get. Just because you found a few "ok" items to resell, does not mean they are not picking through the things. I even overheard a manager scoldingly asking an employee if he was finding her any "good stuff". We do not have bins in my area, and the price of everything has gone up so much, it is hard to pay that and expect to make a decent profit. They are trying to rid us resellers for all the profit. I'm from central NY where we have Thrifty Shoppers. Profits from donated items go to the homeless. Bins are next to the entry of the store. People come in a drop and leave or shop. The employees grab the donation carts as soon as they can and wheel them to the back of the store where they go thru and pick out what they want. They get 25% off as employees. Crap hits the floor and fewer profits are being made for the homeless.

I think one problem especially with Goodwill (because they're so greedy) is the resellers. Goodwill raises prices because they don't like resellers getting one over on them and making money on their donated stuff. One of my favorite channels featuring Goodwill thrift hauls is a woman shopping just for her own personel use. Thats why I shop Goodwill. The prices have gotten so crazy high then they were just a few years ago so I have become very particular in what I buy.

This whole video showed you shopping- nothing about the goodwill Cherry picking- you didn’t go in the back and see what was there. You just made an opinion. Change the title.

how are the rumors false when they go out of their way look thru the glass window in the doors and you can see it . look at when they had to fire a employee because he was pulling 90 percent of the bins to fill his 18 flea market booths ...do your research and not just fluff good will ....Good will employees a t the brice road location will tell you outright that they are told to fill so many boxes per week per employee for good will finds and shop good will as well

I am a reseller and I find it a bit odd that people get upset over GW cherry picking. They own the merchandise and any company can do what they want with the merch they own. I get that it is frustrating since more good stuff could be found just a few years ago and GW is jacking up prices which I also hate. But its THEIR stuff and they can sell as they wish. Same as any other store. Now, they might find that customers adjust and stop shopping there and then they need to lower prices or let more good stuff onto the floor and not send to corporate for web sales all the best stuff. They have to weigh and balance how much profitable the retail stores are to be vs just donation/collection and sorting nodes.

Biggest issue I have with goodwill selling online is not only do they get free stuff but they qualify as charity so they probably don't pay the same fees we do which makes it hard to be competitive with them since it's an uneven playing field.

You claimed you were going to check if the staff was cherry picking but you did nothing about it in this video? I know for a fact that here is the looser city of Loss Wages they do. We dont see designer brands here. Iv been going to the bins for over a year and never found padagonia, lulu or anything other than the damn mall brands.

The point of the video was 'who cares'. Get good at what you do and you'll always be two steps ahead of any alleged cherry picking in the back.

I like your channel. I am wondering what will calling out Goodwill solve? They do have the right to go through donated items and sell them online. Corporate greed ? Absolutely. But calling them out will change nothing. People will still go there to shop. I'm just curious about what you believe you will accomplish. Also, those workers are more than likely doing as instructed. #SheisMonaLisa314

Clickbait title. You literally just went flipping then ended with "welp guess, they aren't cherry picking because I found stuff" With your intro, it sounded like you were going to actually look into what was going on. Got you 100k views though so good job I guess.

I spoke to a manager at a Goodwill and she told me she instructs every employee to Google lens everything and either price it accordingly or lay out for management to do as they wish..i don't think thats necessarily against the rules and if they bust their ass working full time at a goodwill ( not exactly a luxurious job) let em have first choice. They deserve it. I have no problem wth it.
