There has been a new GW open here in NC. Every body was raving about it. It is also very close to a Target and when I went to see what was so great, there were so many new items from Target. Evidently target is making large donations. I wonder if that is one of the deciding factors on where to open a new GW?

I think you have it backwards. The reason they have those generic shirts out so soon is because they're having trouble selling them and figured the bump they get from grand opening with increased traffic would be a good opportunity to liquidate them. You have A LOT of new customers (mostly non-resellers) hitting grand openings, so items like that are a lot more likely to be purchased by new customers that aren't as familiar with the thrift economy. This is the same reason prices are typically very high when new stores open for the first week or two.
They absolutely do have enough to work with in any given goodwill store at any given time. Stores are never running low on donations. When you see empty shelves and multiples of the same retail store items, that’s a choice my management/upper management. It usually means most resources are put towards looking items up to set aside for e-commerce. The employees you see out on the floor are told to look busy. My nearby goodwill is only a year old, it’s starting to look like that store, it used to be the best in the state.

I was at the grand opening for grove city and it was packed. I should not of got a cart because I couldn’t move. There wasn’t too much that I picked up there. I’m still sitting on a few things from there, like a Starbucks mug that I paid $5 for that should be around $75.
Actually the shirts would sell well here as long as they do not have markings or signs on the outside. As long as they are cheaper than Wal-Mart's uniform shirts, the colors are perfect for school uniform shirts.
Are you sure the rooster wasn’t a fence post topper? I have one similar and that is what I found out about it. Very heavy with just one hole in the bottom to go on the fence post.
I’ve been noticing all the Goodwills in my area are starting to sell new items. So much so that sections are looking more like family dollar instead of a thrift store. It’s really frustrating me because I come there to shop for unique and interesting things not go to a dollar store.
The AI ebay descriptions are an absolute abomination as a buyer. Honestly makes me not want to purchase an item with a made up description. Terrible Terrible Terrible
I tried a couple as a seller to see what they were like and actually laughed out loud. For one thing they were too long. For the items I had they were sort of flowery almost like the back cover summary on a romance novel and weren't even applicable. Deleted them immediately before listing.
I have a pair of the Lululemon shoes,they are just ok. Most of Nikes running shoes are better and even though my on clouds drive me nuts in gravel because the rocks get stuck in them, they are also a better shoe.

Same… one of our Goodwills in Michigan gets donations from Target. Actually… our Salvation Army gets donations from Zara all year round.

Goodwills around the country are all run very differently from one another but it's sad to know that some of them operate this way.
