Thanks for the sound tests! In your audio I was hearing some weird audio glitches or scratchiness? It was hard to tell if that was from the keyboard or if it was just the audio.
Super weird! Listening to the video in my car I definitely heard the same glitchiness, which isn’t present on my headphones…. I thought my signal chain was mic-preamp-recorder but I may have left my compressor on accidentally. I’ll check it out! Thanks for the feedback!
I have Anubis showing up today, going to put on Epomaker TH80, I also have holy panda, milky yellow V-2, oil king, Pretty sure the holy pandas are fake from Amazon real hard to get in and out but sound pretty good. Wondering what key I should get, I have 2 ABS and 2 PBT
In stock form, which is more tactile, which is more comfortable to type on? I like u4t first, then coffee chip ice cream became my favorite because it feels smoother. Now I am curious how the Anubis compare. I don't want durock sunflower tactility because it's too strong for my fingers, but Anubis sounds really good, so hope to hear your opinion regarding typing feel of Anubis.
Do you think sound comparison order should be change from: stock s1, lubed s1, stock s2, lubed s2 to: stock s1, stock s2, lube s1, lube s2 Make a little more sense? Comparing sounds between different switches in the same configuration back to back is easier. Quite difficult to remember both stock and lube sounds first then compare to next switch
I disagree - i prefer the method in which he does it. if he compares 10 switches by the time he gets to the last switch itll have 9 switches to go thru before he bets back to the lubed one.
I think in fairness you’re right, but I test all my switches on the same board for consistency, and I thought IMHO that the U4T’s couldn’t quite compare!
I always use deskeys films! I don’t think the Anubis is necessary to film, because it introduces a little more leaf noise, unless you’re also going to lube the leaf :)
@@MakerMods hmm, then I will need to experiment and see if filming+lubing leaf is worth it. But first things first, spring swapping for gazzew 72g springs, this tactility will hit hard
Hi! So I was trying to just provide the sound tests but I’m more than happy to provide my thoughts! To me it’s interesting that both gazzew and chewwie from MoD say no need to film; I think if anything it helps the sound signature of both switches. I personally felt the 69g spring makes them both better in terms of how I like my tactility, snappy on the return and kind of poppy? If that makes sense. When a/b ing them stock to “final formed” the stock springs on both feel almost mushy and too light in comparison, haha. However I think the tactility on the spring swapped Anubis is pretttty heavy, which led to many more typos in my type test because the keys were heavy and switching back and forth like I was for the tests led to the bobas feeling better to me. Sound wise I prefer the Anubis as they are slightly deeper in thock. Hope this helps!
Haha I don’t think “more” is necessarily the case, definitely they are both great switches with similar actuation points. Biggest difference to me is sound?
I have both. Anubis have a little pre travel and i didnt like it at first, but it slowly grown on me to become one of my favourite tactile switch now. They are really fun to type on. The difference btween anubis and boba is significant enough for me to keep them both, thats how i feels.
Couldn’t agree more! And to me spring swapping the Anubis to a heavier symmetric spring (I used 69g from kinetic labs) really makes them pop, both literally and figuratively! Was in a discord call with Chewie from mechsondeck and he said he agreed as well, but CK was concerned about being able to sell super high weight tactiles :P kind of interesting look at the backend side of the hobby!
I think the u4t springs are fine, but imho ultra tactiles feel better with the long springs because they are snappier and more tactile overall! But YMMV depending on how you like the feel of your switches!
I think when I did this video I was more into the stock sound, hehe! My current tester board however is tape modded and dyna modded! I PE foam my personal builds but not my switch reviews because it leads to a lot of the differences in switch sounds being masked
I'm pretty sure it's just the case, cause i used to have the exact same one and had the same issue with most if not all my switches sounding high pitched
You should do these tests on a deskmat, so the hollow sounds from the table goes away
So sorry! I thought I'd responded. I have since started doing deskmat typing tests, have a video posting today that will have a deskmat test :)
I was literally looking at your videos and both of these switches a couple of days ago! I went with the U4Ts :)
Thanks for the sound tests! In your audio I was hearing some weird audio glitches or scratchiness? It was hard to tell if that was from the keyboard or if it was just the audio.
I think its an audio glitch, but also most tactiles naturally have some scratchiness
Super weird! Listening to the video in my car I definitely heard the same glitchiness, which isn’t present on my headphones…. I thought my signal chain was mic-preamp-recorder but I may have left my compressor on accidentally. I’ll check it out! Thanks for the feedback!
the sractchiness was more pronounced on u4t
Yeah I thought so too it sounded pretty scratchy
So I figured it out, it’s actually my rendering settings when making the vid. The scratchiness is an audio glitch!

I am DYING to get the Anubis, but they are out of stock, and they don't know when they're restocking! WHYYY😩😩

I really enjoy typing on Anubis switches! I think if you don’t want too tactile then sticking with the original springs is fine.
Enjoying the Content! Nice Sound tests!
Thanks so much for the support!
Good information. I've been using Holy Panda and someone mentioned the Anubis.
_Though that keyboard .. no thanks .. pretty damn useless._

I don’t mind putting a quick comparison of a/b comparisons in my future videos! Thanks for the feedback!
the gazzew boba u4t would sound way better if the keyboard was modded instead of just the switches still good review
I think in fairness you’re right, but I test all my switches on the same board for consistency, and I thought IMHO that the U4T’s couldn’t quite compare!
Yea anubis are bettet😊
Did you also film Anubis? If yes, do you recommend it and thickness did you use?

No thoughts or analysis?

Boba U4Ts are currently my most preferred tactile switch excluding frankenstein switches, wonder if Anubis is more tactile. 🤔

wholesome video as always
is the spring swap on the U4T a night and day different?
I think the u4t springs are fine, but imho ultra tactiles feel better with the long springs because they are snappier and more tactile overall! But YMMV depending on how you like the feel of your switches!
Where did you get that alu case for the 40%?
The cases are all plastic :) but there are a few alu minivan cases coming out soonTM, check out the campsite by walletburner!
i wonder what a frankenswitch of these two would sound like.
Let me check to see if I have any more loose Anubis switches! If I remember correctly the top housings weren’t compatible though.
Another great video
Thanks again!
U didn’t live film holy mod case foam pe foam or tape mod it why

@@MakerMods oh ok
Durock vs Outemu
even L&F the anubis still have high pitch, it's a skip for me
