The drummer is sooo good!. All of them are not professionals, never took lessons, all of them are self taught, and the main thing is that they play oldies good songs not the today trash music.
To be a professional just means that you make a living out of it and that is your main source of income ... this is all the lads do so in that sense they are professional musicians ... a lot of people think that if you are signed to a company that you must be a brilliant musician which is not the case .... there are many bands out there comprising of 'professional' musicians who are nowhere near as good as these guys musically or otherwise.

The original was backed up with full orchestra and these guys nailed it because the vocals and instruments sounded original in sound and timing

That cover is actually some sort of a meddley of "SIRIUS"and EYE IN THE SKY" both of Allan Parsons Project. Sirius is purely an instrumental piece and looks like a long introduction here. That little "pause" at the end of Sirius is somewhat a transition to the next song Eye in the Sky.

Bull's eye Jude. This song was released in the Phils in the 80s and i had a copy of the album. Indeed, Sirius & Eye in the Sky were 2 different songs in the list. This song was the intro song for the Chicago Bulls.
Question : how will they know that music & the instruments ,they were still toddler when that songs broke out in the Philippines .

The first part (Sirius), had to be sync with the tempo of the intro of the song. Yeah, I agree there was a little "glitch" during the transition or merging of the two intros.
REO Brothers - my number one favorite...they are so talented, their harmony is so good and they are so humble..I so love them..we have so many talents in the Phils. That wasn't an intro. that was Sirius (instrumental)...and the vocals are part of the song Eye in the Sky already.

Sirius is a separate instrumental piece but is usually played as an intro to "Eye in the Sky." The Chicago Bulls basketball team usually played Sirius during the players' introduction on the playing court so many people started calling it the Chicago Bulls' Theme.

It was not a mistake.The song they cover by Alan Parsons project is "Sirius" & "eye in the sky"(you can search it here), its actually two different songs/number (basically one instrumental and 1 song)hence the long intro. "Sirius" by the way is the Chicago Bulls' lineup entrace theme. You can search both songs separately.

this is the long version, which incorporates two songs actually, the instrumental intro which is "sirius" and the song itself "eye in the sky". the shorter version which is just eye in the sky is what was always played on the radio at the time.

Allan Parsons Project, you have to see the original performance to have a much better appreciation of REO Bros performance here.
Personally, this to me is the BEST REO performance.
APP was doing this with an Orchestra, and REO with 5man.

I think the transition made from sirius to eye in the sky where there was a long drumbeat was intentional. I have also watched the original and the original was slower than this cover and the transition was instantaneous. I guess they added their own flavor rather than just covering as is. And also, if that was a mistake they could've just retake.

That long intro is part of Alan Parsons project at Sirius performance...It is not a miatake one.
