    Alan Parsons was one of the best music composers and mixers ever. He did the Pink Floyd album dark side of the Moon and it was in the Guinness book of world records for being on the top 40 for over 14 years or something like that. It was 741 weeks or something like that

    Angela, the two portions of that track, "Sirius" and "Eye In The Sky", are segued together on the album where that composition is from. That's how it sounds in it's original form. The "Eye In The Sky" portion was released as a single and was a big hit for the band in 1982. Another great choice and you're looking lovely as always. ☺

    I love it when a guitar riff enters into the background background of the penultimate verse just to remind you its about to fuck you up at the end. Kind of like the level boss of 90s bullet hell shooters that will fly past you while you're only halfway through the level just to mess with your head.

    For what it is worth, Alan Parsons who wrote these songs actually considers Sirius & Eye In The Sky to be one composition or one song. The first part was used as the theme for the Chicago Bulls. Alan is a multi-talented man and aside from being a masterful song writer and musician is a sound engineer and has put his mark on such Classic Albums as The Beatles Let It Be and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon! Gotta say it again, I love your reactions!

    Yes, exactly. From 1982, this seems extremely prescient, the eyes in the sky NOW knows what we’re thinking, can rob us blind… big props for reading the future. Amazingly bright and mellow considering the dark theme of the lyrics. But this WAS very well known and widely heard at the time. We just couldn’t imagine how it would all roll out.

    😃 Great song! I wonder 🤔 if they're singing about the surveillance of the entire 🌎🌍 world by big brother, AI and so on! That could be the hidden meaning behind this song, even though it seems to be about a sketchy and creepy relationship! The man seems to have found a way to gaze into his partners mind and know exactly what's going on in that mind! Creepy and intriguing at the same time! 😲 😳 Wow!
    I made this comment before 😃👍 I saw and heard your reaction! Coincedense and or creepy! We're probably just on the same wavelength on this one! Who really knows! Again, 😲😳 Wow!

  • @BongoFerno
    @BongoFerno 10 месяцев назад

    At the time this music was made, people listened to entire albums, not individual songs. As a result, many albums were created to be heard in sequence, with the songs continuously connected. This means that these two songs are meant to be heard one after the other, as they were carefully crafted by the artist to create a specific listening experience.
    A modern band that does this is Siamés. Their album "Bounce into the Music" starts with a short introduction, alluring and enticing you to submerge yourself in the album, and one of their songs, named "As You Get High," repeats the same vocals as the intro, but in a different mood.

      Actually Sirius is the name of the brightest star in the constellation Canis Major. It is also known as the "Dog Star", as it is a constellation that represents a dog. It is the brightest start in the night sky. It is also where the Sirius satellite service and this song got their names from.

    • @georgechristian3902
      @georgechristian3902 11 месяцев назад

      @@TheCkent100 This song is called "Eye in the Sky." And I don't recall it being associated in any way with the Dog Star. It's not in the song, it's not in the title, and it's not mentioned anywhere on the album cover. That and common sense suggests that when Alan Parsons Project came up with this song, they were talking about the eye being a lot closer to earth. I don't think it was about anyone spying on us from Sirius.

    There are a lot of songs that go together and should be done that way and were done that way when they originality came out and played on the radio. e.g - Nights in White Satin/Late Lament... Pink Floyd - Brain Damage/Eclipse... Moody Blues - Procession/Story In Your Eyes... Chicago - Ballet For A girl In Buchannon ... That is why you will find them like that on RUclips. Note ; After Chicago recorded "Ballet" it was the record company that did a cut and splice job to create 2 songs. You can hear the splice at the end of Make Me Smile.

  • @rogermasa
    @rogermasa 11 месяцев назад

    Many people don't know this, but bananas were used in the recording of the track. Alan Parsons would secretly and strategically place banana peels around the studio and staff would constantly slip on them. After awhile, they would "dance" around the studio because it was ingrained in their minds that there were banana peels on the floor, despite Alan removing and no longer secretly and strategically placing them on the studio floor. He and singer Eric Woolfson (rest in peace) would find it hysterical but the underlying lesson was to train them to intrinsically do what they would not normally do in the studio. This story may or not be bullshit.
