True. I honestly don't understand what we need 5G for when well optimized 4G can be very fast. In such circumstances I seriously don't feel any lag on my device. 5G also means that we will eventually end up in urban areas without trees.
Real-world usage above 250 Mbps is really minimal, only content creators, super heavy users and companies would use it. I see 4g as the best solution for range/price/usefulness. But yeah 1 Gbps is awesome then you move 2 meters away and you have your 50 or so Mbps clunky 4g network. Not great.

The thing about the microwave is actually wrong. The physical thing is that the microwave has a eletromagnect chamber that doesn't allow the waves to go trough the metal plates and the "glass". On the front you has this grill that works to, because his holes are never to big for the lang of the eletromagnect wave. That is why you should never drill a hole on it and you shouldn't use too old microwaves because probably has some. The physical concept is called Faraday Cage. And the real reason of those frequencies not going to far is because the higher is his value, more energy you would spend to produce a bright spot. And a good exemple for that is thinking of why blue laser are soo powerfull and the red ones aren't. Apologies for my english. I'm not a native speaker.
your english is pretty good 👍 but in english you usually don't need to label a non-living object as "him" or any gender, you can say "it" or "it's" i hope i don't come off as rude i'm just trying to help you out a bit, and thanks for the explanantion

Didn't you ever notice that cell phone monthly cost haven't really gone down while everything else in the world has? I'm sure that has nothing to do with the giant mergers limiting our choices of companies. in the United States the only deals you can get it if you have four or five people on the same plan but for those that only want one or two phones you're pretty much screwed.

That's the point of the video. Marques isn't trying to claim that it's amazing right now, he clearly acknowledged that it's just not ready yet for exactly the reason you pointed out.
I feel the same. Whenever I do a 4G speed test, I'm usually 30-60 Mbps. That's enough for most of my uses, except maybe when uploading which is slower. T-Mobile supposedly will be rolling it out on the existing lower frequency spectrum, so hopefully that will just roll up into my plan (I use them). Should give a 10%-50% bump if they upgrade existing equipment with new 5G software (assuming they can and will) and hopefully 2x or more speed with new equipment.
MDK 8 wow that’s amazing. Maybe cause I have an iPhone XS. but I’m lucky if my video doesn’t stutter on 4g. Seems I’m moving to Europe soon lol. My home WiFi can play anything tho.
And a quicker way to get cancer, people need to do research re: all of the negative health impacts of 5G on human DNA. For example see the recent Reflex study completed in Germany which found the micro and radio waves from cell phones did damage single and double stranded DNA. Cell phones are the new cigarettes use minimally. Good health is true happiness, do not risk getting cancer.
Straight talk has a $55 no throttle unlimited plan, but yeah I agree. They haven't even perfected 4g through the entire USA and they're trying to roll out the next generation of wireless tech. LTE is capable of 800mpbs, maybe even more, but it's rare to get speeds that good.
i bought an old atnt contract from ebay, 35 dollars a month for life on a hotspot. almost 1 tb used in a month, still 35 bucks a month. compatable with 5g aswell. search atnt unlimited on ebay if anyone is looking
Thanks for being honest dude! The simple fact is that tech companies & carriers wants us to justify paying for a technology that'll be practical maybe 2-3 years down the road. But as of right now, don't waste your cash to buy an expensive phone for nothing
The reason why companies want you to spend money right now on tech that might be ready 5 years down the road is to make sure that the huge resources they will spend on the tech is worth. If no one is buying a folding phone now, why would they spend millions to make a better version ? The Iphone X already showed that once with the bold move from apple which cost them a fortune but now are claiming it back since a few people actually bought the phone. A lot of things happen this way and if you root for something to become readily available you have to spend money early on to help the people make it happen as soons a possible.(Investment of sorts)
shhhh... The justification is that these tech companies and carriers will need the capital to create this infrastructure. The more money they make, the faster we'll have 5G coverage. Don't burst the early adopter's bubble! Ignorance is bliss. XD
4g and 5g are two completely different technologies with two different use-cases. 5g is not replacing 4g. 5g is mostly used in congested network traffic areas such as a sports arena. 5g has low power consumption and high throughput.
@@sqlevolicious dude. Just because 5g is used in particular way now does not mean it won't be more commonly used in the future. Just like 4g being more commonly used over 3g. The "g" stands for generation. As demands for higher bandwidth and faster transactions continue to climb, so will be the demand for 5g. Eventually 5g will be everywhere. This is a no-brainer, 5g *will replace 4g* in terms of everyday use.
I'm glad you mentioned this video in your iPhone 12 review. I was thinking of upgrading and Verizon made it seem like I need an upgraded plan. After watching this and checking their coverage map, I realize my 4G plan is going to be just fine for a long time, thanks!

It will require an ethernet cable up the ass. And then we are back to the best communication standard. Wired. But Samsung will no doubt charge a ridiculous sum for that.
I still can't believe we haven't gotten 4G/LTE everywhere yet. Why are we working on this when we could get everywhere coverage? I'd like better coverage indoors first than a super limited 5G network
Goober and Buddy that is what Verizon is doing. T-Mobile on the other hand is trying to merge with sprint so they won’t have a super limited 5g network like Verizon. Verizon doesn’t have the necessary spectrum assets but T-Mobile will if the merger doesn’t end up getting blocked in court. So I’m t-mobiles case no point going crazy on 4g if they can have a consistent 5g network
It's possible to work on 5g and 4g at the same time. I hate when people make arguments like yours. Just because the best current gen technology isn't widespread or affordable that doesn't mean we can't begin thinking about next gen. That's how you stagnate progress
Money. Wireless providers have an excuse to charge their subscribers more with fancy 5G. I’d be more worried about underhanded practices like throttling the decent 4G we have now in order to force people onto a more expensive data plan
Dear sir. Paused at 2:39. I want to convey how thankful I am for the 1st 2:39. I am so ignorant of everything to do with my phone. I hope the rest of this episode is as simple and easy to understand. Thank you for starting with the basics. How did I get to 2024 this ignorant. Husband and 2 sons, who did everything for me from the start. They were helpful, but never helped me to understand the basics. Sons are grown, husband dead, you are helping me now, thank you.
They could just roll out the new 5G signaling tech on lower frequencies, like sub 2 ghz, and we'd all be fine. Theoretically they could upgrade the software on existing tower base stations and get a 10% to 50% bump in 4G speed. Once they get new hardware (new antenna & controller base stations), I'd imagine the efficiency could get to 2x or more, dunno. That's what I'm hoping for, and T-Mobile is supposedly doing it, according to this Android Authority article.
puga ha! Actually part of my job is setting up telemetry for earthquake and volcano monitoring networks. I have lots of experience with many flavors of comms devices and while 5g is cool there are many issues with it. I rather have investments into the hardening of our 4g/LTE networks before jumping right to 5G.
@@pugasnkr You just won the award for the dumbest comment I've seen today! What does wanting a reliable data connection have to do with having money or not? Smh... that is just stupid
Thank you for the explanation, but I'm still missing a point. What is the point of 5G? Yes, it's great to have a ludicrously fast connection, but....do you really need it? Let me explain: Most of us, use connectivity to read email, use social networks, watch videos, chat, read news and other stuff on the internet. To do all of this, the 4G network proved to be more than enough. The only real noticeable advantage of the 5G is when one has to download a (relatively) large file or is a gamer. While the former can be an extremely useful feature , the latter is kinda detrimental. Why would one go outside to play a video game instead of doing it in the comfort of his own house (Or the house of friend)? Seriously: What is the point of going to a pub, sit down in a corner and vegetate for hours?
Thank everyone for your responses. I think some of you are right about the game thing. I actually have noticed this everywhere. I must not considered it because I think it is a phenomenon of social alienation( It isolates them from the rest of the society and makes them notice and think less about real world issues). My fault.

Thanks for being honest dude!
The simple fact is that tech companies & carriers wants us to justify paying for a technology that'll be practical maybe 2-3 years down the road. But as of right now, don't waste your cash to buy an expensive phone for nothing
What are you talking about
2-3 years you mean 5-8 years
The reason why companies want you to spend money right now on tech that might be ready 5 years down the road is to make sure that the huge resources they will spend on the tech is worth.

The organisation behind 4g/5g isn't responsible for the coverage, talk to your provider about that issue.

@@abcdefg54321x that you .. you forgot hijklmnopqrstuvwxyz as well.. 😁
Double
Dude Sprint is second on the 5G race! Thats why TMobile wants them so bad, their spectrum is amazing
Exaggerated: if they cover an entire city, all those 5G nodes could potentially act as an umbrella for the city when it rains
W h a t
Well if that is true then why there is water when it rains on sunny days
Light is above 20 terahertz and it travels billions of light years wtf. Yea it gets absorbed by everything but still
That wouldn't actually be a good thing, the ground needs water.
@Mothers Milk No it's not. Wet is just the feeling of having water on your body when you get out the pool. When you're 100% completely submerged in water you don't feel "wet".
*skin boiling and you look up at the 5g emitter*
Aaahhhhh that's hot, that's hot
Looked like he has a boil on his right arm next to the elbow ouch!
rewind time
Wireless networks does not cause any harm to human body. Even the sunlight is a type of radiation and guess what, it has several time more energy than 4g or 5g radiation.
@@manjotsingh4422 but the sun is far away, and these will be on every street corner, and have to be close to work.
@@qimatswift4829 no bro, visible light is also a type of radiation (which our eyes can sense) having even higher energy (frequency) than millimeter waves that 4g and 5g uses.
