I'm running my first Ultra 50km this weekend. Last year I had a double heart bypass. It's taken a year of rehab and training. I am loving it. My training runs have been up to 45km with many thousands of metres of elevation. Good luck everyone. Never give up.
@@rakadoni8403 Hey. Thanks. The weekend was hit by the mother of all storms and the race was basically a mudfest, in driving rain and fog. Apart from that it was amazing. 6hrs 20 minutes. Did the same race in May this year and again hit by exactly the same conditions after weeks of training on dry trails and managed 6 hours. Spent too long faffing about at the aid stations. Have since run from Winchester to Winchester via Rochester, Canterbury, Dover, Eastbourne a loop in total of 550km (in 20 stages) and solo. Getting ready for this week's marathons!
I love the old "Never again... never again... Finish race... When's the next one?". Long runs are soooo addictive. Well done completing your 50km. Great video showing the highs, and lows :-)

That was awesome. I love watching people experience their first Ultra Distance run, it takes me back to mine every time. The highs and lows, the exhaustion BUT then not long after.........what run will I sign up for next. Fantastic!
Thanks for your nice comment, yeah was super cool beeing there watching and documenting Elin going through these emotions. Haha yeah, she inspired me as well think I have to try this crazy thing out :D
What I like about this (and other videos about ultra runners), is the support they have from their partners! Well done Elin. I liked how human you were about it too :)
Good work, I completed my first 50k this Sept 2019. It’s such a rush to find out what you can really do. Biggest lessons I learned during my races this year was to stay in my HR zones for the first half and save my legs for the 2nd half.. And make sure the hydration and foods are built up the whole week before the race. Congrats!!
Yeah Elin did an amazing effort! Ok thats cool congrats to completing your first Ultra as well! And thanks for the tips will maybe try Ultra my self 2020 :)
I had the same story. I ran a 21k on street, thought about a marathon, but hit the trails more often to enjoy the time and outdoors. I didn't care about time, just views and having fun. Skipping down technical trails. It was the first time i had fun running 21k and didn't realize i ran that much. I ran my first 50k without a race. Just trails having fun, topping up water in little streams. I had so much fun that day, just running. Thinking about finaly joining some race with support stations. I think it will be a nice experience to run with people.
She's great and very relatable! I didn't have the guts to sign up for a ultra marathon yet, but I'm currently training for my second marathon. It's on my bucket list for next year, really looking forward to it. 🤞🏻

Great, I find the most important thing is to dial in gear and nutrition. I know of a few people who even change shoe types for 100km + races, using Hoka's for the last part, extra cushioning.

awesome job!! congrats to you Ultra Runner!!!!
Nice video :) I ran my first trail marathon in Germany few weeks ago, I smoked weed the night before, it was raining the whole day, I was soaking wet and I didn't think about taking water and food, I thought aid stations would be enough... Well I won't lie, it was hard, but it was also one of the best experiences of my life haha! Looking forward to take part at a 60 to 80k race next year :)
Thanks! Ok congrats on your first Ultra and good luck with your upcoming races 😊
Great video. Impressive effort by Elin. Landscape looks beautiful and I loved the end. :-)
Thanks glad you liked it, yeah she did an amazing job! Haha yeah seems like she didn't got enough :D
Awesome! Never done an ultra, but done a couple of Ironman’s with another one planned for this year hopefully, so maybe cycle less run more and do one!
Awesome! and very inspiring! want to run my first 50K in Autumn. Thanks for that video
Thanks, glad you got inspired! Good luck in your first ultra!
Beautiful film and what a supportive fiancé :)
Thanks 😊
Wuao you motivated me to also participate in my first ultra I'm already nervous Thank you for inspiring greetings from Seattle
Cool, good luck with your training! 😁
Congrats Awesome accomplishment one day after all this Covid stuff gets done I to will run my first Ultra after my goal of Half Marathon and Marathon here in Canada!
Yeah Elin did great, ok cool to hear, good luck with your training for that!
Great, I find the most important thing is to dial in gear and nutrition. I know of a few people who even change shoe types for 100km + races, using Hoka's for the last part, extra cushioning.
Thanks, glad you liked the video! Good points! Tomorrow I'm publishing a new Ultra Marathon video to my channel :D
