- Update on my first restoration project 1972 Chevy C10 pick up, here is a look on how to fix wrecked cabs and body panels on a classic rusty truck! Toby from Alloway’s Hot Rod Shop kindly came to have a look and see if we can save my cab and avoid me having to buy another one. Video features a look through of the cab and the problem areas such as the wrecked firewall, worn out rocker panels, cab corners and the possibility of a new roof skin. I am in the process now of contacting AMD www.autometaldirect.com to follow up on Toby’s advice!

Hello Ranas awesome video you can call Chevy Land in Sacramento Ca off of Sunrise Blvd. I’ve bought all my body Panels from them for my 1966 C10 that I’m also doing a frame off restoration with my Son
Thank you Frank! Appreciate the tip and I’ll keep them in mind, best of luck with your restoration father son project! Love it!
We watch you all the time. We live in 108 Mile Ranch, and it's about 5 hrs from Vancouver BC 🇨🇦. We have a lot of car people around here. Last summer we had a car show Hot July Nights and 425 vehicles. Took videos was going to put it on RUclips. Still might. Keep up the good job.
Hey there! Thank you for your support, I do have a handful of Canadian supporters and it’s always growing! Glad to have you on board and I hope to visit Canada sometime in the future for sure!
Good luck.
@@jimmygarner696 thanks Jimmy!
Great video, my 72 needs complete floors, firewall, inner/outer rockers and cab corners. AMD and LMC has everything at either place. When I get to mine I will place my order. The 84 C/10 is on the block right now.
square bodies are quite popular right now, good luck with your 72, I do plan to check out AMD up close and when I go so will my camera so it'll be good for the viewers to see the shops they order online from!
@@RanasRadar Thank you, heck yeah. I will be watching for that video. AMD is a great company.
Everything there can be fixed ...it's just a matter of your time ...
Fast is expensive and good
Cheap is slower but saves money and gives learning experience..
So now its a matter of choice ...
So good luck on your venture..mine is a 67 ..
thank you! is your 67 with a small back window?
yes your right everything can be fixed and I am keen to go the longer route so I can learn along the way, the faster option is always tempting! good luck with yours
@@RanasRadar yes ...short bed fleet side w/bbc
@@guyyates3284 nice!
You can get patch panels for the area he is talking about without getting the large patch. Just learned it was HIT!!! make sure the cab isn't twisted. It may be better to spend the money and buy another cab and keep ur cab to use for parts or cut out metal for patches for ur other cab or for someone else.
I see what you’re saying and we are definitely weighing all options!
AMD is a large company that’s been around for years and they make a lot of reproduction parts for make different model cars and trucks. They are the biggest and if the best in the business. He’s also correct that LMC Trucks is another option for. You should be able to get any panel for your truck from these 2 places !
Thanks Jim, I have been in contact with AMD now and couldn’t agree more, it seems they have everything! More on this soon!
@@RanasRadar they are the best in the industry and their parts are almost dead on for fitment !
Auto Metal Direct is located in Gainesville, GA
Thank you! Yes I looked into it afterwards and am keen to check out the place in person with my camera of course!
I've heard that National Parts Depot has complete metal cabs. I can't say for sure if they do or not but if they do surely they have the rest of the sheet metal to repair them .They are based out of Florida. If that was my cab I'd fix what needs fixing, but I'm the kind of person likes a challenge.
You and I think alike! I like the challenge too, thank you for the information and I’ll keep it in mind, but definitely seeing what I can do locally before I cross state lines.
@@RanasRadar I did some more research and found out that a company called Dynacorn makes complete Chevy C-10 cabs. Their picture that I saw shows a complete cab with the doors hung on the cab. However the price is $9K F.O.B. plus $395.00 for the crate to ship it in and it comes from Camarillo, CA. Maybe they would help "sponsor" your build for some free advertisement.? The worst they can say is no.
@@lilorbielilorbie2496 thank you so much for your time and effort!! Dynocorn seems pretty and it is very tempting to get something all done but then how will I get my hands dirty and make a fool of myself for you lot! Thanks again it’s good to know and for others to see this comment in case they having similar problems.
@@RanasRadar No problem. I'm just here to help out when I can. Like Mr. Gene Winfield says Every day's a school day. We can learn something everyday. As for making a "fool" of myself that's why my you tube channel will never have any videos on it. lol.
@@lilorbielilorbie2496 😆 love it!
After seeing the damage to this cab, I’d definitely fix it.
thats the plan! whatever I do, I will show it here!
See dynacore shows new California.
If you can replace all the bad metal it would be as good as new.
thats what I am hoping to do so we can have a nice paint job at the end.
Also check with fat fender garage. They might know someone selling a cab.
Hey Daniel Fat Fender Garage are good people, I actually toured the shop with Jason, the video is in shop tours. Thank you I’ll keep it in mind for sure!
Try Manes truck parts from Missouri
thanks Dennis, i'll keep that in mind
Rana you are better off finding a cab then using all the sheet meatless. You pay for sheet metal you have to pay for some one to weld it all together .just find another cab it will be a heak of a l lot cheeper .
Thanks Tommy, im keeping all options open but i get what you're saying.
Someone no doubt has said this but buy another CAB
Might be fun fixing this and if it all goes out the window then we may have no choice, but I would like to get my hands on welding.
Professional metal worker can perfectly remedy firewall with driver dide Apillar sidewall pieces removed. Overall, your cab is decent and a good candidate to rebuild,be frugal with your wallet learn and do work yourself.Women tend to be better welders/ finishers thanva majority of men.
Let’s hope I don’t disappoint when I get my hands on welding! we are definitely exploring the option of fixing what we have, update coming soon!
I would buy another complete truck. This is going to be expensive. OMG. Unless it is a sentimental vehicle, scrap it
That would be definitely the easier route but then I wouldn’t get my hands dirty and this is part of the process, trust me I have been tempted 😆
