Ta Som is a lesser-known but captivating temple within the vast Angkor Archaeological Park in Siem Reap. Built in the late 12th century during the reign of King Jayavarman VII, Ta Som stands as a testament to Khmer craftsmanship and religious devotion. Cloaked in a mystical atmosphere, the temple is adorned with intricate stone carvings depicting celestial dancers, mythical creatures, and scenes from Hindu mythology. What sets Ta Som apart is the photogenic eastern entrance, where the roots of a giant strangler fig tree intertwine with the temple's crumbling stones, creating a mesmerising fusion of nature and ancient architecture.
