    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- If a 5 star rating were to ever mean anything. All 5 would be yours.
    You & this video here are by far the best instruction video I've seen heard & understood completely the first time.
    Thank you kindly 👍🏆🥇

      Looks like the tweezers knocked it off, then the hot air blew it away

      @@xuhwj11I saw that part. Missed the blowing off of the resistor though. He made this look so easy. Then again I don’t have one single tool he used to do this. I’ve done basic wire soldering but never with a micro board. I always had a hard time but that could be because I was using a cheap ass solder and gun.

  • @CB27
    @CB27 5 месяцев назад +3

    This is actually way trickier than I thought.
    I've managed to wreck one replacement port already. How to get solder to adhere to the holding "legs" by ensuring they're hot enough WITHOUT melting the plastic inside the port?!
    You made it look so easy!

    Dude you made this look so easy. I’m an auto mechanic, and this intimidates me. I’ve done non micro board soldering in the past and did kinda shitty but maybe because I was using a cheap ass soldering gun and solder. I have a big Bluetooth speaker box and someone broke the micro usb port and didn’t tell me. I went to plug it in and it fell thru. I take it apart and it came off the micro board. So I came across the video trying to come up with an idea on what to do. I don’t have any of these tools/equipment in your video. I was thinking of replacing the small battery with another rechargeable battery splicing into the battery wires going to the board and connecting some type of charger to it or something. lol. Idk where to look for these parts though.

    • @solderingironguide
      @solderingironguide  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes, it takes some practice and the right tools. You can look on amazon for the micro usb plug, search 'micro usb female'. If your pcb board has broken traces so the plug can't be soldered on, you could use small #30 wire and solder directly from the female plug pins to the broken traces on the pcb.
      You could also connect those wires to the 5V battery you mentioned.

    today I lifted my table while a kvm switch was in a bad position between the moving desk and wall, and yanked the micro USB port off the circuit board. Wondering if this is a better solution to purchasing new. I don't have the tools so might be better off replacing :(
    Thanks for video either way

      This is my issue too. I don’t have any of the tools either. I was thinking of splicing into the wires for the battery and connecting another charger or something. The usb port fell off the micro board on my giant Bluetooth speaker box.. i let someone use it and they broke it and didn’t tell me. Rat bastards.

    Does the port have to be the exact same for the replacement? I can’t find the micro usb female port that’s exactly like the one I need replaced.

    The board I have has lost the solder in the surface mount pin slots so the micro usb port can’t make a connection, is there way to fill those slots back up with solder?

    • @solderingironguide
      @solderingironguide  Год назад

      Just use liquid flux to fill the holes, then put solder on the iron tip and touch it to the holes and the solder will fill them up. Then you can use the hot air to let the part sink in.

    • @solderingironguide

      I wouldn't set the air temp that low, set it around 360C or it will take too long to heat up that area.

    Our big goofy fingers look so clunky under any type of magnification. You feel like you are being delicate and gentle then you see how jerky and sloppy your motions are. I always think "Do I really shake that much?"
