- Todays our first day exploring the beautiful and chaotic city of Hanoi!
We spent our day taking part on a food tour led by our amazing guide Lee from Ha Food Tours, tried egg coffee from the cafe owned by the inventor of the Egg Coffee's daughter, and visit the imperial citadel.

Definitely felt overwhelmed at first, I suppose it’s all apart of travel and being somewhere new and unfamiliar. Although the food tour was definitely a highlight for us! 😍😍

It’s definitely a great experience! Full of motorbikes everywhere but amazing food and the egg coffee was so good. It sounds like an usual drink but tasted great 😍 hopefully you’ll get a trip there soon! 🤞

@@MattLaurie And going with a local guide is the way to go because many Westerners aren't familiar with how to eat Vietnamese food properly. There's a lot of wrapping things up in rice paper or leaves/herbs/veggies (layering on the flavor) and dipping. Lots of sauces and some you need to prepare properly before eating while others are already prepared for you so you just dip or pour into the bowl. I see many Westerners don't even mix up their "dry" noodle bowls and just eat (or don't add all the herbs/veggies) and I'm side-eyeing them as the sauce is at the bottom of the bowl, which is what flavors the dish. LOL
@@doodahgurlie 😂😂 Going with our guide was one of the best things we did in Hanoi, we went to places and tried foods that we probably wouldn't have found on our own and as you said we were able to eat and enjoy them in the right way! So much amazing food in Vietnam, we loved it 😍😄

In Hanoi it’s usually very warm although we did have a few unexpected storms so make sure you have a coat! 😄
