I completely agree ‘Do not by a Model Y now’. However, Tesla should consider giving the option of PREORDERING to prospective buyers of the MODEL Y JUNIPER. Just like the Company did for the CyberTruck. Yesterday, I test drove the Model 3 Highland, for about an hour. Comparing with the older Model 3 (2023) and the current Model Y, that I had test driven, both, few months before, I have to say the following:
    1) Greatly improved suspension, premium ride.
    2) Very quiet, I hit the horn and sounded that some other driver was honking….three cars behind. The traffic was going by, almost, unnoticed.
    3) The speakers sounded like my surround home system, although, I am not an expert in acoustics.
    4) Despite my reservations, the ‘no stock’ driving was quite easy to get used to.
    5) It is still a sedan, that means that it feels and it is kind of low with the particularities in entering and exiting the car.
    6) The rear screen and its functionality was greatly exploited by my ten year old daughter. It is a great addition.
The elongated center armrest looks much better than the shorter one of the previous model.
    7) This time, I tried the voice commands for the wipers, the a/c fan and temperature and the seat temperature and we died laughing every time there was a car reaction.
    8) The ambient lighting experience, that is the light strip around the cabin, was the ‘frosting on the cake’ or the ‘cherry’ on the cake, just enough to leave us with our mouths open.
    9) Mobile charger is included.
This car was a chinese- made Model 3 Highland, probably, with a CATL LPF battery. Not sure about the Hardware version, though.
Too bad we do not need a sedan. I tested the new Model 3 just to see the new features, also intended for the 2024 Model Y, in action.
We need an SUV. I wish I could preorder the Juniper and get it over with.
By the way, how you adjust the rear view mirror? I drove for an hour with the chin on my chest, lol..

Thank you for your thoughtful comment! The Model Y Juniper seems to be making some noise at the factory. What do you think about this?

@@TeslaCarWorld I am not sure the kind of factory noise you have in mind. If you mean the noise of gearing up for for the production of Juniper, I say to hurry up and start rolling out the new Model Y ASAP.
What do you think about Tesla setting up preordering for the Juniper? Is there a chance for that?

Rear view mirror is manual - you adjust it with your hand like all other cars I know.

I'm disappointed that Creep is being eliminated as I use it every time I drive my 3. My garage is a side load garage which causes me to do a bit of undulating motion to back into the garage. Creep helps immensely so that I don't strike surrounding objects. Perhaps allowing the features for a price would please both Tesla & the buyer. Tesla with more money & buyer with a feature he/she requires. I am planning on purchasing a Juniper Model Y when its available. I would like to see the availability of Quicksilver in the USA!

From the UK : I too, take issue with removing the creep mode - I use it all the time to manoeuvre up and down my very narrow drive - it could almost become a deal breaker when time comes to replace my current Model 3!
I hope Roll only mode stays in America!

Great info. Do you happen to know if Highland has one cast piecing (like the Y) and what kind of batteries does the LR have? I know the RWD has LFP. Hoping this new M3P has the 2170 or 4680 batteries 🔋 I’m hearing the 4680’s are made out to what Tesla has claimed. In my opinion, the 2170 cells are like magic rocks ⚡️

I find it absurd that Tesla charges a surcharge for white exterior paint, makes zero sense...

Yea, they are gonna charge more for what is more popular or sought out. Doesn’t it make more sense as Tesla to do that???

Doesn't make any sense to charge more for any color....

I test drove a Model Y performance about 2 weeks ago and was very impressed with the car. It was so fun to drive and I loved all the science and tech that went into the design. I would really like to get one later this year and when i found out about the Juniper update, I was very excited. Still researching on which way to charge it at home. It's nice to have a few monetary incentives that would go towards cutting the cost of the vehicle. It is super nice now to just hand over the $7500 government tax credit to the dealer. I have decided to wait for the Juniper update to purchase.

I don’t mind the elimination of creep or roll mode as i never used them. Im definitely interested in getting a Juniper Model Y when available in N America

I am going to continue to hold back for longer range. Electric cars are still not good for long trips. I want at least 450 or more miles before I buy, if not I will stay with ICE cars.

    • @christianolsen9781
      @christianolsen9781 8 месяцев назад

I can follow your point if you want to drive in areas where charging infrastructure is spread out thin. ICE cars are just more flexible in the way that you can bring back up fuel tanks. And even though for many 450 is overkill - those are measured under optimal conditions. That numbers is much lower in extreme cold.
