Finally somebody else doesn’t wear lanyards! I’ve been on five and I’ve never worn a lanyard! I’ve loved every step of MegaVacay and I’m sad to start this final series but you did an awesome job of documenting it all
Our first Princess cruise was on the Crown Princess in 2013. We have loved them ever since. Watching these videos gives us hope for sailing again...soon!! Thanks for being awesome. We love your videos.
We cruised on the Regal Princess and it was our first Princess cruise. I will say that from all the cruises we have taken so far, Princess has had the BEST food we have ever had. It was incredible.
@@carmenguillen8084 We put date stamps on each individual video, as well as in the description, just in case folks are curious. We traveled in February, just before all heck broke loose.
We love Princess. We were supposed to be on the Sky March 2020 but then the world stopped! I am going to enjoy watching this series since I have not been in a cruise ship since August 2019 , the Emerald Princess from Barcelona to Rome which was fabulous!
Looking forward to our 6th time on the Crown (35th on Princess) in January 2021..?? Found myself here enjoying your narrative and looking forward to the remaining parts! It’s better than sitting home feeling sorry for myself. I’m so ready to cruise again! Thank you both!
Oh ty ty Princess gal here! Thanks for pointing me to your Princess vlog…looking forward to watching each and everyone.. you guys will sustain me until my Sky Princess cruise December 2021
FYI.. the 1977 pilot show of Love Boat shot aboard the Princess line's original Sun Princess in Mexico...and when the show ended in 87 the company asked the "Captain Stubing" (actor Gavin MacLeod) serves as the company spokesman and he has ever since which i think is so cool esp since it was one of my favorite shows growing up...( =
I'm researching Crown Princess (for Alaska 2022) - and now watching your blogs - I have to agree - room steward was very TINY which made Dee very TALL!..........:)
Dee and Jay! Thank you both for doing what you love and sharing it with us. You helped my husband and I get ready for our first cruise in December 2019 with your videos. We are huge fans! Thank you again and hope to run into y’all on a cruise in the future. If you hear a 6ft 3 man scream like a lil girl when running into y’all...yeah... that would be me! 🤣🤣
Fab! New series - excited! Will be interesting to see if this cruise everyone is in bed by 10.30 like our Caribbean Princess cruise last summer, or partying after midnight like Royal Princess in the Med. As I know you'll do all the stuff and things, I guess we'll find out soon;-)
Thank you for your cruise vlog. It brings back lots of wonderful memories from our December 2019 Christmas cruise on the Crown Princess. At that time we could not have imagined what was going to happen to the travel and cruise industry in 2020. I don’t think cruising will go back to what we are used to for long time so it is very nice to see your adventures.
There's just something about Princess to us that feels like home. You probably know the feeling with the Pride. Nice to see the Crown :) We live that class of ship. Make sure you're not drinking anything when Jay is talking about filming in the mirror after Dee meets their cabin steward 🤣
Thanks for this one! So excited to see the Crown as I will be on her for 21 days next year including my 1st trans Atlantic. Princess is my line of choice and I LOVE the Medallions!! Weird they left those "presents" in the cabin. 🤣
We are big fans of Princess and Ocean Medallion. I have ordered the same lunch as Dee on many Embarkation Days. The food is delicious. Looking forward to your impression of The International Cafe. Did you make Ocean Tagalongs? Your Tagalong will be there each time you cruise. Thank you so much for always taking us along. Always the best!
We did a bit of research on the Ocean Medallion before we cruised, but we ended up getting involved in so many long-running activities on this cruise that we really didn't explore it very well. Dang, I saw the tagalong option and we missed it! Guess we have to book another Medallion-class ship now, ha ha... :P
I can give oh a tip of founding things in the paper guide and that is to bring or may bye a highlighter pen or may be two in different colours then you can mark what you want hence found it easy every time you pick up the paper looking for what on the day/night.😉 I do it all the time...
Thank you so much for this series! although no one has been cruising since the beginning of March we have had one cruise canceled in April and we have one booked in November and one in February 2021. I just love watching new cruise video!
We finally tried Princess last year, also from Ft Lauderdale to South Caribbean for 10 nights on the Crown! We absolutely loved that ship!! Our next Princess cruise is in April 2021 hopefully from Seattle to Hawaii 16 nights on board the Emerald!! Its definitely a bucket list cruise for us❤🛳⚓The beds are just wonderful and love Movies under the stars and the Sanctuary area! We felt so taken care of with Princess!❤
Thanks for stretching out the videos, it helps with the cruise blues, we keep thinking of trying princess, we wouldn't really feel like we were cheating on Carnival, being they own the cruise line line..😂
Thanks! Well produced video. Looks like this might have been your last cruise before the pandemic. My first Crown Princess cruise is Oct 2023; Crown is New San Francisco home vessel. Have you done a parody of the love boat theme?
Happy and sad. This is the last one!!! Hard to believe you spend so much time in that cabin. Not a fan of Princess cabins' decor but the rest is really well done.
Hah, we normally spend a good chunk of the first day in there unpacking, obviously. Reading over the material and getting a feel for the flow of things. But a good chunk or out exploring and outside-ing happened to fall into part two. :P
Yay cruise vlogs I haven't been on princess either, grand princess is going from Southampton (uk) next May so I might look into that ,hope you had fun on your first princess ship😍
Holy Cow. I'm on that ship in two weeks. If I found a bag of tampons and a lone chocolate of unknown origins in my room; I'd be up at the front desk asking for a new room and an upgrade immediately. I'm surprised you two didn't walk out right away. That's a deal breaker for me. The room was obviously not cleaned appropriately since the last guest. No no.
Except for dessert, you, Jay, had my standard MDR embarkation day lunch on Princess. And yes, everything on the TV is free, beds are comfy and towels are honor system and just available to be used. Oh, how I miss cruising Princess! Thank you for sharing your cruise with us all.
The cabinet and bathroom doors look really dirty. I wonder if they ever wipe them down. And what's with all the last peoples stuff left behind? Love the medallion locks though.
We noticed a few trouble spots in the cabin that looked like they might have been hastily wiped down, so we tried to hit all the surfaces again with our wipes!! :P
We are leaving on the Crown princess next month for an Alaska trip, and they have changed our itinerary due to maintenance issues. I can't believe it's been going on since 2020 and they haven't figured it out yet! 🤯
I haven't sailed on Princess in 12 year but I don't remember them drilling the Love Boat into everyone's head. I saw some references to it but not that crazy. Guess things changed since.
Now I’m crying - I miss the Princess ships & the comfiest beds & the tv with the movies (I wait until I cruise to catch up on movies)! I haven’t been on the Crown Princess- but she looks lovely. BTW - as for the showers - you can use the wonderful showers in the spa area (I’m just 5’3” and fit in the shower - but I don’t like the too friendly shower curtains)! I’m so excited to see the rest of the videos from MegaVacay2020!
We didn't end up watching a ton of movies, but mostly just some shows to wind down at the end of the evening and fall asleep, hah. It's super handy though!! :D
interesting We took a 10 day 6 ports cruise 1/6 to 1/16/2020. We also missed the first port because of generator problems & got $75 credit. We also missed 2 other ports said it was too rough & not safe to dock. We got $300 credit to use towards a cruise good for 1 yr. With Covid they allowed use to book by 1/31/2021. So we booked an ocean to ocean 15 day Panama Canal cruise. What ship you ask? We will be back on the Crown Princess (not by choice) Wounder if the "Generator" will be repaired by then? I have only watched part 1, did you miss any of your other ports? I think covid was to blame for our problems, they DID NOT want us to dock. Safe Travels!
Fortunately, we only missed the one port. We'd heard that a lot of folks were having to skip Grenada for time sake, but they decided to pull Princess Cays from our sailing. Hoping the mechanical issues eventually get sorted out!! :P
The medallion watch thing would mess me up. I'm OCD about making sure my door is locked. Can I check to make sure it's locked or do I have to leave the medallion down the hall out of range to do that? After working in a prison for 20 years, I don't trust gadgets to lock doors.
I don't know that there's a way to verify that the door is locked once you're outside, but I know you can request an old school key card if you aren't down with the medallion life, hah... :P
HI! My husband and I have a cruise (jan 2021) out of Fort Lauderdale and I was just wondering if you have any hotel recommendations? Normally we cruise out of Miami but we decided to change it up a bit for next year :)
That's awesome! The only place we've really stayed is a Quality Inn just south of the airport, but we've had hit or miss experiences there and we're sort of on the hunt for something else ourselves, ha ha... we do tend to stay in Fort Lauderdale rather than Miami though, because it seems cheaper and easier for us to fly into FLL.
We made it back just in time, probably a week or week and a half before the official shutdown and everything that came along with it. We've just been staying as safe as we can these days!!
It's only certain Princess ships, but all passengers receive them. They didn't seem to have a "cruise card" option, so you would need it to check into and out of the ship at ports, pay for things, etc.
I kinda like the style of that cabin -- BUT: Wow, it was just NOT cleaned well. They are gonna need to step up on that post-virus. Why did they remove Princess Key from the itinerary? Was it virus-related?
We could tell some trouble spots, so we were glad to have brought our super wipes, hah... Princess Cays was dropped because the ship had an engine or generator issue and couldn't sail at full speed. The problem had been going on for a couple of months, but hadn't been addressed yet.
"Princess Cays" (pronounced "keys") is the private island for Princess Cruise Line. We had to skip that port because the ship was having mechanical problems when we sailed it and could not reach top speed. :P
Do princess match your card with carnival I don't know which ships do that I am platinum on Carnival did not know if princess are the other ships you were on match your status
No, Princess doesn’t currently status match. The only line I know that will is MSC to any other major line. Folks have told us there’s some crossover between Royal Caribbean loyalty and Celebrity but we haven’t found that yet.
The Crown Princess look nice so far . I really didn’t like the stateroom decor. It seems a little outdated . I’m glad y’all wiped the cabin down , especially after the last guest left a gift for you 😂😂😂 I can’t wait to watch the next vlog .
We noticed a few trouble spots in the cabin that looked like they might have been hastily wiped down, so we tried to hit all the surfaces again with our wipes!! :P

We didn't have anything to compare it to, ha ha... but the closet was awesome! Our steward seemed to have glazed over some areas in cleaning, but we gave it a good wipe-down and carried on!! :P
If you check the date stamps on the individual video, as well as in the video description, we traveled in February 2020, well before social distancing and masks had become the norm.
We ended up giving things a good wipe down with our medical-grade wipes, hah. We didn’t realize at the time that this would be our last cruise before the shutdown, and things were floating around out there that no one understood quite yet, so we’re glad we took our own cleaning so seriously!! :P
Finally somebody else doesn’t wear lanyards! I’ve been on five and I’ve never worn a lanyard! I’ve loved every step of MegaVacay and I’m sad to start this final series but you did an awesome job of documenting it all

Woo love this channel can’t wait to see the rest of the series!!
I really needed that laugh when you found the “surprise package” waiting in the room. You made my day.
We don't usually find surprise gifts left behind, but that was definitely a memorable one!! :P
@@parodeejay Just watched you might be right about the room steward not being able to see them.
"Big Brother on a cruise ship" You had me at that Jay!
Oh my goodness! The cruise vlogs just keep coming...😭 so excited!
We took the Crown Princess on its' Inaugural Cruise in June 2006 from New York. I LOVE this ship! While I am NOT a Carnival fan, I do love Princess!
I am so excited to see your videos of the crown princess I sailed on her through the Mediterranean in 2018 they will bring back so many fun memories
That's awesome! We haven't made it over to Europe for a cruise yet, but we'd love to someday!! :D
hope you enjoyed the crown princess as much as we do! we love this class of ships!
Oh ty ty Princess gal here! Thanks for pointing me to your Princess vlog…looking forward to watching each and everyone.. you guys will sustain me until my Sky Princess cruise December 2021
Hey Y’all, JB is welcome on every cruise lol! Looking forward to all the new stuff in Princess 👑!
Great start 👏 loved how you show how the medalians work. The safety video is really good to know about. Can't wait to see the next VLOG!
I might be weird but I enjoy the safety video. I always get a kick out of it. Probably because we only get to watch them on a cruise
