omg that D natural in the left hand at :35 is so wrong and yet it's still a flawless and magical performance. kind of comforting to hear that mistake, i don't think i've ever heard her make such an obvious one before lol. what's amazing is she doesn't even flinch from it
This young lady is wonderful! She does amazing "hand ballet" as the brilliant camerawork illustrates. What poise, charm, grace and enthusiasm. I'll never be the same!
wow she plays as good as she looks... beautiful. Scriabin was a wierd man but i love his pieces and i tell you Yuja Wang can play them. Thnks this made my day :-)
The most refreshing thing is her extraordinary talent. The knockers compare her to Aggerich and so forth, pianists with an eternity more time to have finetunned their skills. For the record Martha said she found Yuja renditions of Piano concertos outstanding. The fact that she is a very attractive Lady is just a bonus and she is not afraid to wear modern dress, nothing you would not find at the classy restaurant in the world. She is all Class this lady and screw the stuffed shirts who dont lke it
Superb musicality! Nuance of line so clear and classic posture. I thought for a long time that only Russian pianists could play Scriabine, but I was wrong. Nationality insignificant when musicality is present!
Also, the prelude Op.11, No.12 is one of my favorites that I play all the time. She totally brings a gorgeous atmosphere to it. I'll have to work on it some more now. Man, LOVE Op.32 as well. Played both pieces of that for a recital in college back in the day.
She has a very convincing way with the illusive sound world of Scriabin. This young lady along with Khatia Buniatishvili and Ingrid Fliter are three of the most exciting young female pianists before the public today.
I concede that Khatia can divide opinion, I personally find her a fascinating and highly individual performer. She is undoubtedly a risk taker and sometimes this daredevilry does'nt come off, incidentally such past piano icons as Rubinstein and Horowitz played with the same abandon when they were burgeoning young performers. Khatia definitely has that sort charisma which is why she plays to capacity audiences worldwide. Whatever ones opinion, she is never boring.

The video's title is a bit misleading as there's more than just Op 11 No. 11 and the video itself labels Op 8 No. 9 to be a Prelude instead of an Etude but that's due to the editor's negligence. Despite these nuisances, thanks for even uploading this.
My favorite part is at 0:35...BONG!!!! BAD NOTE!!!! Reminds me of Rocky IV when the Russian got cut. Ms. Wang is human after all...I don't know how I feel about this.

Classical musicians are diverse and sometimes even beautiful people. Those that knock her appearance need to get out more. I have to go to a classical piano recital to see bored little girls wearing foolishly conservative frocks manufactured in some polygamist compound. They look miserable and proficiently hit the keys like underpaid steno pool workers. putting ppl off with your snob subculture is starving the artists by pushing future fans and students toward more accessible media.
one day - when she gets a bit older, when she does that low, low bow touching her forehead to her toes, she's going to do herself a nasty injury and not be able to rise again.

@@jamescollins3009 exactly my thought!! i think it leads into that c# in a uniquely beautiful way ((:
She is such a good player that even the incorrect notes sound perfectly shaped and match the texture. Impressive and inspiring
I am at a loss for words...I found myself transported beyond the mundane world to a place of transcendence. Beautifully performed!

Yuja Wang expresses Scriabin Prelude with clarity and with an enchanting romantic grace. A beautifully sensitive performance.

She is truly a crystalline window into the composer, the music is at all times pure, ethereal without senseless sentimentalism. I love her Scriabin.
Cette étude est jouée avec toute la vivacité et le romantisme de la partie centrale nécessaires!!!
Admirable 😮

Scriabin's touch and interpretation always exceptional! / Tocco e interpretazione di Scriabin sempre eccezionali!
Great performance. Great YuJia Wang
Refreshing relaxed approach, where her fingers bring out the clarity and expression. Magnifico!

Certes ! Et le "zéro fausses notes" est un véritable boulet dans la vie du pianiste.
