Prince began by playing the family piano in '65 and had mastered the guitar and drums by the time he joined his first pub/club band in '72
This however is a young man busking in the streets (he doesn't have the money/help professional players do, therefore he can't afford the best of the best, yet).
Even with perfect pitch a 14yo prodigy needs to be helped by someone more knowledgeable. He sang so softly using only his head voice that the mic couldn't pick him up, so he most definitely needed help later with his singing (using his head, chest, abdomen) as he had a 5 octave range, read this somewhere. 💜 🎶
