I'm all for saving space/going as minimal as possible and did consider switching from RØDECaster Pro II to the Duo. But then I realized I might have a use case for having four mic/instrument inputs and decided to just stay with what I already have.

There's definitely nothing wrong with sticking with the RCP 2. It's an outstanding device as well. I haven't recorded next to another person in years so I'm safe to keep it minimal. Both are great devices.

I heard somewhere that they made the on/off button they way they did to help prevent accidentally turning it off. I don't mind it but I have to admit that I really do have to be mindful about how I am turning the button on and off. My only real problem with the Duo is it often loses the audio connection to with my Mac. I never lose the mic but fairly often I lose the sound of my Mac. Can't figure out why that is. And did you say award winning? Can you elaborate? 😊

I can understand having a safety feature for that purpose, but I think the original button was great.
I have heard a few people say they have issues with the device on Mac. I would like to get a Mac Mini in the future for streaming. They seem to be quiet when in use unlike my PC.
It's been a while since we participated in any podcast awards but we were finalists three straight years and won it all our first year. We were also invited to the Webby Awards. We didn't get the nomination for that award though. We have also been on numerous "top 10" lists from various outlets.

@@FreePodcastTools Oh wow! That is really cool about the awards! And yeah, I just keep crossing my finger that with each update the sound will stop dropping.

@@portersblackboard I am really hoping Tascam jumps back into the game. The Mixcast 4 (in my opinion) was extremely consistent sound quality wise. RODE likes to do a lot of processing for everything.

@@FreePodcastTools interesting take. Maybe they need to make a Mixcast Duo.

@@portersblackboard I'd buy one today if they did! Sorry for the slow response, I've been sick for the past couple of weeks.
I hope they make a one or two mic interface that still functions like the Mixcast 4. It's time for a refresh from Tascam and Zoom.
